Driving or towing something you just bought is always an adventure i know i had a 2,018 mile towing adventure but i made it , thanks to the many people that help me along the way
Y'all cracked me up with the folding chairs coming with the unit, now you have a place to sit while stranded on the side of the road. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
This video popped up in my recommended and had to watch it because the camper looked so familiar. I couldnt believe it sold on the auction site for only $160. Looks like its worth every penny lol. Btw at 20:51, Im the one that bought that 1986 F250.
I have resurrected several old RV's and one sitting for 6 years is not that bad, especially for a quadrajet, which can set over 10 years with ease and still work fine. Most RV's didn't get fuel injection until the 90's, and if you can take the time to actually understand a carburetor, they are great. In fact I will take a carburetor over fuel injection any day. If the refrigerator has an ammonia smell, it is leaking and should be replaced or professionally rebuilt.
this has to be the first channel that they talk about carburetors and they don't know what it is.. Lol i just found your channel you guys are pretty awesome!!
Great video I was actually there when you guys took it out when you were going down the hill, I was in the Silverado with the gooseneck me and my dad were both surprise that thing drove out of there
In 2018 I bought a 1983 gmc corvair 30 ft motorhome.. ot has a 464 engine. It started & rub good. . I drivebit about 100 miles to get home. It ran & rode good. The fas gauge didn't workshop So i stopped often fir gas. . I drive it around town fir a month. The old girl worked great.
When I started driving my dad gave me problem cars. To Disney world at 16 when it opened. I carried a screw driver to tap the fuel injector my horn always honked wo me and I am a girl!!
Alot of us who have watched Derek for years, have had some of the things he says become part of our vocabulary, without a conscience effort. These guys have great personalities, and are pretty darn entertaining. Isnt life hard enough sometimes as it is, without having someone we dont even know try and dictate how we should or should not talk? I dont get the negative mindset of someone who would leave a comment like you did.
Definitely wasn't as bad inside as I thought it would be. Should have put some Seafoam in the gas, that would have helped with the carburetor. Run an Ozone Generator inside for a week to get rid of the smell.
My first car came with a lucky set of horseshoes, too. '63 Chevy Nova. I think I bought it in '74 for $100. It ran fine. But needed brakes and a clutch. I was in high school. Did all that myself.
Great RV! Great job, guys! Probably good to syphen out the old fuel with a wet vac or pump or something before setting off -- might have prevented some of the carburettor and running issues. And I know it was probably not possible at the time, but it might have helped the brakes to douse them with brake cleaner -- just to free them up, get rid of a bit of dirt and rust, etc. Mechanical problems can always be solved. The real hurdle is: What does the wife think of it? I think she'll (the wife) like the RV. And I think she'll (the RV) clean up real nice. Try to restore her back to original -- give her (the RV) that dignity. Great job, guys! Keep safe out there!
Q-Jet secondary air valves should snap shut, not dangle open. The air/fuel mixture was leaning out with you flooring it with the secondary air door messed up.
A lot of times the body of the camper and the cab aren't from the same model year. Example: my 1986 Class C by rights it should have fuel injection because '86 was the first year of EFI for Ford. However, the E350 frame chassi cab it rides on is a 1985.
I have a 36 ft class A on the Ford f-550 chassis and damn her booty swings far 😂 One good thing my dad pointed out (previous owner) was when towing a trailer the tail swing helps keep you away from curbs and the axles follow you around the corner much better when making tighter turns towing so it does have one benefit but that's it haha. Just isn't fun when making a left or right turn at a intersection with cars in the lane next to you.
Did I see PA tags and an old PA inspection ticket on that thing ?? Damn if so I live on pa and am damn near Homeless and without a vehicle so I would have possibly jumped all over this and killed two birds with one stone lol Where do you find auctions like this in PA I’ve been searching for a cheap or even free car but only find stuff from places way to far away for me to possibly get but if found something in or near pa it could really work out for me
Always, buy a used vehicle and drive it cross country to find its faults. Preferably, it breaks on some back road, 3 a.m. middle of nowhere...then you get to rest on a ripped seat, in a car that doesn't lock and is about out of gas.
Such a pity that it’s all water damage that was a beautiful motorhome Back in the day and they cost a pretty penny even still I know a lot of people who love that style of motorhome
I swear it looks like your in or near Hanover/gettysburg/littlestown/new Oxford area but then again 75% of PA looks the damn same lol If you are in pa and mess with racing and racetracks then you’re probably familiar with the area I come from because we use to have an active super busy and loud racetrack less then a hop skip and jump away but it closed is 2021 I believe it was an I guess still is referred to or called trail way speedway. The bros that owned it sold it and the new owner I believe it looks like is using the land for possibly real estate opps and maybe some extra farming space, sad to see it go like that but what yah gonna do?? Yah know
28:55 ... uhhh thoes gas tanks have a nozzle that removes the need for a funnel in most applications ..you all seemed so smart and savvy and then ?? unless its one of thoes bought a Wedco nozzle set to use on the Scepter gas can but the 2 manufactureres nozzles dont inter mix.. a wedcos nozzle will Slip out of the scepters locking coller cap. but a scepters will work in a wedco.
We didn't want to stand there half of forever dumping out of those pathetic nozzles, you can empty a can a lot quicker by taking the cap off and dumping it into a funnel
Please don't trash it if you don't want it please let me know I would take it in a heartbeat I'm nearly homeless and could use something like this so please if you don't want it let me know please 🙏 and thank you
Guess by now you have worked out that the alternator was not working and by the way you state you were going to put a little oil in the rear brakes system, guess you have also learned that that should have been water as a temp replacement for dot 4, but your doing this for the views and comments, so this will help you that way as well
Driving or towing something you just bought is always an adventure i know
i had a 2,018 mile towing adventure but i made it , thanks to the many people that help me along the way
Descent content, but stop trying to mimic VGG.
This is a good quality camper. You have to save this one.
Y'all cracked me up with the folding chairs coming with the unit, now you have a place to sit while stranded on the side of the road. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Really think it needs to do a road trip down to Florida this winter 😄

Thats cool, always liked them pickups.
Hills are a Winnebago's mortal enemy.

Why are you putting starting fluid in the secondaries?
this has to be the first channel that they talk about carburetors and they don't know what it is.. Lol i just found your channel you guys are pretty awesome!!
😄😄 thanks!
Great video I was actually there when you guys took it out when you were going down the hill, I was in the Silverado with the gooseneck me and my dad were both surprise that thing drove out of there
That's awesome, yeah we weren't sure how it would go 😄
In 2018 I bought a 1983 gmc corvair 30 ft motorhome.. ot has a 464 engine. It started & rub good. . I drivebit about 100 miles to get home. It ran & rode good.

Nice old beast😄
From what I’ve seen station wagons and RVs kept using carburetors long after the throttlebody came around why I have no idea
Take a camping trip with us before winter ❄️. You don't have to go far. Thanks 👍 for sharing.
Good video glade you made it home. Thanks for sharing 👍
When I started driving my dad gave me problem cars. To Disney world at 16 when it opened. I carried a screw driver to tap the fuel injector my horn always honked wo me and I am a girl!!
The brakes are not working well, because you need to inflate the air suspension
Got a new sub here from West Tennessee. Great video fellers.
Love to see what she looks like all cleaned up?
Hey, that was fun. I'm going to see what else you guyd have to offer. All hail the mighty algorithm.
Not gonna lie I would love one of those over the new RVs. Looks crazy comfortable even to drive
Fabulous work. Congrats.
Awesome y'all got it home y'all are so funny see yah guys
turn all the fans off the second it dies.. save some battery....
Yep been there fun times iv got the same problem with buying Rigs good video keep them comen
The CB would be the biggest selling point for me.
It really doesn't look too bad it just needs a good going through.
Had a 1978 BARTH W/ 454 RAN GOOD 2 😀👊👍✌️🦅🦼🇺🇸
No bad, but let Derrick's verbiage be Derricks. Be unique in your own way. Good Luck
agreed

We say Derricks and zip ties and bias plies one liners all the time around my parts and we think they are hilarious 🤣 To each there own.
You guys seem to really know your shit when it comes to RVs and mechanical. Admirable!
You fix it up? I have one and looking for parts!
Dude. Did you collect your $10 from the auctioneer?
Yup😄
Please keep her a life and a for ever home in a museum

Not bad for a new TH-cam channel. Love the red neck vibe & attitude!!! Keep on Rolling!!!
Thanks for watching
had a ball thanks mates
Thanks for watching 👍
Is the fan belts on or loose?
Hey you could gut the interior and make a burnout bus. Looks like the 454 already has some big headers on it.
Could not be spraying starting fluid while driving????
That mesh thing is a bud net that snaps to the awning.....
now you just got to get the Bruce generator running lol
Q-Jet secondary air valves should snap shut, not dangle open. The air/fuel mixture was leaning out with you flooring it with the secondary air door messed up.
I would like to know where you get your twinkle fingers from?
For me ,who live in Germany, that kind woukd be Just,a dream
Dam I have to say I like it nice but 👍🏾👌🏾👌🏾👏🏾 can't wait to see it up & running 🙏🏾
I don't get it how the same engine would work good in a car but when in the an rv it seems they online last a few miles then problems
It probably doesn't help that rvs weigh a ton and the engine is always getting beat on
my 89 has the quadrajet carb
You boys have a great atitude
carburetor needs a rebuild and the alternator is not working my guess
How much do you want For the MOTORHOME INTACT
Not gonna sell it, if anything the engine and trans is getting pulled and the motorhome scrapped
@@wrenchesandracecars Bummer I Like the MOTORHOME it Would be Perfect for my Needs
@@dereklaw9234 Facebook marketplace, there's plenty on there for next to nothing
First time viewer. Very funny, interesting with some great laughs😂
Thanks for watching!
Check if the generator is charging the battery??
Yup turned out the one battery cable end was rusty inside and not making good connection
come one a 6 years old engine and you not let him turn a few minutes before to engage in R or D mode!
A lot of times the body of the camper and the cab aren't from the same model year. Example: my 1986 Class C by rights it should have fuel injection because '86 was the first year of EFI for Ford. However, the E350 frame chassi cab it rides on is a 1985.
I hate to admit it but I live in one identical😂
I dont like that short wheelbase at all. That tail will swing out 20 feet😧 in a tight fast turn!
It doesn't turn sharp enough to make a sharp turn haha but it is a pain to drive with the long tail, plan on fixing that in the next video😄
This motorhome the 454 is in is a 1989 sunflyer motorhome and like I said it runs and drives excellent
If the airhorns on top work, you got your money's worth‼️😂😎
Holy. It's got headers on it
A carbureted big block is a hell of alot more likely to run after sitting than a tbi
Lol y'all wasn't charging. Hei ignition will shut down at around 10 volts.
Dude, I still live with my parents, you know what I’d pay to get something like what you all have?
why you did not repair the brakes and other things before to leave? after that you complain you damage the rv..
😄😄
I think your problem is the battery there is no charge
Did I see PA tags and an old PA inspection ticket on that thing ??
Damn if so I live on pa and am damn near Homeless and without a vehicle so I would have possibly jumped all over this and killed two birds with one stone lol
Where do you find auctions like this in PA I’ve been searching for a cheap or even free car but only find stuff from places way to far away for me to possibly get but if found something in or near pa it could really work out for me
42:45 Well three bone ups you guys didn’t run a separate fuel source mixed old gas with new gas guaranteed the tank is absolutely shwrecked
She's a beaut Clark!!!
Stuck on stupid😅, 250000 service truck but won’t service anything, I don’t get it.
You need to buy one in Florida drive it back to PA
That would be a great winter video haha
Best winobago ever

The emissions from your truck are deadly
You gained a new sub
Thanks for subbing
Well done those good men
Thanks
This motor has 63 thousand original miles on it it's in the motorhome it runs and drives you can drive it away
Good deal for the money!
I would bet it not charging
No volume....its like 3%
Funny you never thought alternator
Alternator was working fine, turns out the one battery cable was making bad connection
"Carbonizers" ??? 😆 "Transmotion" ??? You guys 😁
15 years and no one thumbs up this video or commented?
It's obviously not charging
fix it up

Have almost the same rig but better shape that doll is very collectable I have the rest of the plush toys except for that 1
Why you know you always got some place to stay if your wife kicks you out of the house

Alternator was actually working, the battery cable end was just so rusty in terminal it wasn't making good connection.
It sounds like a mopar.
