Coming from a launch model it’s quite a great upgrade. I’m not disappointed at all, the display is beautiful, the stand is awesome, the build is premium, 0 regrets.

I playing it for over 2 hours with Metroid Dread and its absolutely fantastic! The OLED screen definitely makes a difference. It makes the colors more vibrant and gives it a much sharper image.
@@DeityLink69 vibrant colors is to be expected but sharper image isnt a thing. The OLED is still the same thing as the regular switch aside from a bigger screen, which ironically, make things less sharper but almost unnoticeable
@@thatanonwholurksmoar7386 better in motion though so probably can look sharper depending on what you’re looking at. I haven’t heard anything about it being less sharp on things people would notice. Same resolution just way better contrast and way better motion.
I think were pretty safe with the burn in. Wulff Den has had his on a static image for a week strait on high brightness, and has had absolutely not burn in yet. This is ongoing and he is updating us on the results.
I just got mine, and I LOVE it. It makes my red box Switch look like hot garbage, especially the display. And that along with the kickstand makes the experience SO MUCH BETTER.
Grats to everyone that got one. Since I game exclusively in docked mode this would not be much of an upgrade for me. I'll upgrade whenever the internals are upgraded
The dock itself had its internals upgraded complete with 4K readiness and mild CPU enhancement, but the new dock is available sold separately and is compatible with the original switch.
I have had my OLED for 11 months now and am still blown away by the upgrades from both my launch model (I no longer have this one) and the Lite (considering selling this one also).

I was the 4th one in line and then 15 other people started lining behind me. 😮 A few people walked out disappointed that they couldn't get an OLED cuz they were sold out.. but I'm glad I was there early... It's so worth it and it looks so beautiful. I've debated over the week if it was worth the upgrade and I was so glad I decided to get it. Don't forget that the Nintendo Switch Oled comes with a screen protector already installed on it. DO NOT peel any edges of the screen. Leave the protector screen alone if you don't want you oled screen to scratch very easily.
A head's up, you can still put your Old Micro SD Card into your New switch and it'll wipe all the game's but keep all your Screenshots, Video's, saves and user data. So definitely just put it in the New switch and let it wipe the game's while retaining all the other data. That's what I did from my original Switch to my OLED.
Major reason for me not to upgrade at this point is seeing how detailed the transfer process seems to be. I'm good with the Switch I have for now. Thanks again for all these videos. You really helped me make my decision.
1:30 about the SD card. So I put my old one into my oled switch and still had all my data. It deleted something else idk what it is exactly but all my album videos and pictures were still on it. So no format was required for me
Just upgraded to the OLED from the lite and what i noticed as a 1 year Lite user: -The OLED is heavy. No more playing this while lying down,it was so easy with the Lite -Prefer the Joycon buttons to the Lite buttons. The Lite buttons feel ethereal. -The joycons being detatchable is just a fidget magnet. I keep detaching and reattaching for no reason...
I also upgraded from a lite, I've been using it for 2 years. The oled feels so heavy compared to it lol. But I'm not planning on playing in handheld much anymore. My hands need a break, I have small hands and I actually got hand pain from the lite, something I never had before. So controller it is.
Just set mines up, the difference is huge. Its like upgrading from an iPhone 8 to a iPhone X, ill never go back. People says otherwise is downplaying or never seen it in person.
Regarding the Screenshots transfer. It you have an sd card on your current switch with screenshots and videos, you can put the same sd card in your new switch and it will ONLY delete games downloaded to the card. The screenshots and videos will remain on the sd card. You just have to redownload games that were on the sd card and continue using your old sd card with all your screenshots on your new switch. That saves time and you don’t have to transfer screenshots and videos on a computer in order to use them on a new switch.
my primary account is with my friends switch since his place is the go to for gaming parties. in fact his switch is the primary console for our friends to use since we all share the games. i did purchase the oled today and plan on using it as a home only handheld console, so i dont mind it connecting to the internet.
Regarding OLED burn-in. I’m not sure if this screen will be worse than the OLED screens i’ve used, but i’ve had two iPhones now with OLED screens. I just upgraded but i use my old iPhone for 3 or 4 years will no appearance of burn in. The screen was amazing and looked beautiful. I’m sure the switch screen will be great as well.
If i'm understanding correctly, if I have 100+ games in my SD card for my standard Switch, and insert it into my new OLED model; I would have to format the SD card so it can be compatible with my OLED?
Mine is Auto brightness off , lower the brightness as much as possible to my comfort level, set the console to 3 mins sleep off . But I usually off the screen , it’s already auto sleep. That’s how you can reduce burn in or may not even need to worry about it.
Walked into target at 8am and came out at 8:15am with a Switch OLED. No pre order no nothing. I only found out about the OLED a few days ago. No one was at target, no line. Nothing. Maybe everyone got it shipped. Sold my old switch on eBay also… sold in 10 minutes.

Honestly… the complications of transferring all your stuff to a new Switch is enough to turn me off from upgrading altogether. This could be streamlined so much… why, Nintendo, why?
It actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.... I don’t have that many games for the switch so maybe that’s why it wasn’t bad but I got everything over on the OLED in under an hour

I just want to say that you can swap your SD card from your old switch to your new one without wiping or having to do a backup. The Switch will automatically delete all game files and save files and will keep everything else. That is how I did it one hour ago and it worked just fine.
@nintendo they should have done this video a week before the damn launch. I had cloud save and didn’t know some saves would allow the cloud save to be transferred. Defeats the point of having cloud save.
