If you paint acetone on the back of the card with a small paint brush where the blister is glued to the card you will find that the acetone reacts with the glue and the blister pops off the card with no damage to either card or blister. Dont saturate the card ; just enough to permeate through and react/soften the glue. One you have finished your custom project you can put it back in the blister and stick it back on the card with clear liquid super glue. With a bit of practice you can have a custom HW car that looks like its never been out of the package. Do this for presentation....not to deceive anybody.
Hey That sounds awesome! Finding a replica of your own car is such a cool feeling even if you have to make a few tweaks thanks for the visit Happy customizing!🤙🛞💨🏁🤘🤘
All you’re doing is taking the head of the rivet off. There is a post on the diecast, and as long as you only drill the rivet head off and don’t dig into the post, it will all snap together and hold. You can add super glue or tap the post and put a screw in it the choice is yours. I just snap them back together
So I remember 2 years ago learning to open rivets with a drill, but the drill bit was broken to the point where the glass resulted in failing to learn costumes.😅
Thanks, this will be a big help for taking apart Hot Wheels in the future. Unfortunately, I drilled through a post actually the whole back post and it still will not come apart. Any ideas on getting the body separated and then back together again? Thanks
@@raganx7108 When you drill the rivet, you’re really just removing the head of it, not drilling all the way down into the post. This leaves the post intact, so you can use it to hold the base back in place. You have a few options for reassembly you can tap the post and secure it with a small screw, use super glue, or even snap it back together if the fit is snug enough. The car isn’t useless

Ok so what about putting it together, you just made the car useless.
