    "you also must not have an underage child" so you're telling me, an afab person, that I can't ever have a biological child, not even prior to sterilisation, because my child won't be "old enough" to handle my transition?!
    So hypothetically, in order to make this work, you'd have to get children in your 20s and wait for like 20 years (!) to then transition in your 40s, because you have made the decision to have a family. Wow. That's just... Wow.

    As a nonbinary person my heart hurts for the trans people of Japan. If I were forced to get bottom surgery I’d feel dysphoria either way. And the whole “can’t have kids” reeks of eugenics. Like does the government really believe in the “If lgbt people have kids their kids will be lgbt” bullshit? What am I talking about, I live in America, there’s places in my own damn country that believe that 😑. And the “must not have underage kids” requirement is also bullshit. Like… why? I really hope things change for the better soon.

      LITERALLY!!! people immediately sexualize lgbtq for some reason, like straight cis people just think of sexual contact when hearing gay or trans, and the gross thing is they put that on the children then accuse those children's parents of child abuse. when its like, arent straight cis parents always the ones asking their 4 year old sons if he's got a girlfriend or their daughter if shes kissed a boy yet

      yeah if you think this sounds strict and unfair, you wouldn’t wanna be a foreigner caught in the mix. japans is notoriously xenophobic so being trans on top of that would not make for a fun time. this being said, having watched other videos on the topic the general view of lgbt there is that of “yeah that’s fine i don’t really care, i just worry children will get bullied for it”. so they’re decently accepting, just have a lot of worries regarding it all.

It'd simply become, "the rich are pushing their trans agenda on us!" Or, if no class existed it'd just be some safe haven for trans people? In Japan, hot springs and public baths are a part of everyday life. That is one of the reasons that the public is reluctant to recognize gender change by self-declaration.

    • @andrewjones-productions
      @andrewjones-productions 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      "A part of everyday life"? Utter rubbish! Do you honestly think that we all go to public baths in Japan on a daily basis? NO! We DO NOT! Despite what you may think or believe, most Japanese apartments, condominiums and houses with the very small exception of a rare few, all have their own bathrooms. There is absolutely no need to go to a public bath on a daily basis. Your argument is null and void.

      @Ben Asher all =/= many

    • @andrewjones-productions
      @andrewjones-productions 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Stick You have missed the point entirely. Ben Asher was insinuating that people frequent onsens on a daily basis for their baths. I am fully aware having lived here for 30 years that this is a very popular recreational activity. There is a huge difference between stating that this is a popular recreational activity and a necessity due to the lack of facilities.
      Obviously, if you live near an onsen then you will frequent it more often than people in urban areas. Near my Tokyo apartment, there is a 'sento' that is popular and has somehow survived the onslaught of development. There are a few old apartments nearby that lack washing facilities that indeed the inhabitants thereof use on a regular basis. However, most people in the area do not. I myself have often gone to an onsen and indeed in the 1990s, I sat in a rotenburo in Gunma to say 'Please watch the next episode of 'Moshi, mosh' that was broadcast on S4C (Welsh language) so I have thousands of witnesses to the fact!
      To use the onsen as an argument against transgender is ridiculous. So both yourself and Ben Asher should stop trying to cloud the issue with bold claims that amount to nothing but nonsense.
      So if you wish to make wild accusations against me, then I suggest you try better.

      I think you don't understand what transgender means and what is the difference between gender and sexual preferences.
      1. You cannot transition from a man to a woman. It just changes your body. Because transgender people feel sexual dysphoria about their bodies. And the operations help to synchronized the body to the soul/brain.
      2. If you feel like a man in a female body, you can’t really be a lesbian. Not even your partner, as she will fall in love with your male soul.
      I understand that this may be complicated to grasp at first, but the world is fundamentally complex and diverse. Others' love lives don't affect your life anyway.

      The BBC didn't "push" anything in this video, this is the unopinionated reality of some peoples lives. The BBC has a duty to be unbiased and to follow wreathian values of informing educating and entertaining. This means reporting things that are less important to some, and maybe not what you agree with. However for those who are transgender this would be incredibly valuable information to learn, and for those who aren't, it's an opportunity to enrich their understanding and acceptance of those different to them. The world is full of different people, there is no harm in advancing your knowledge. That's the point of the BBC and, if you don't like it, the beauty of digital media is that you can simply choose not to watch it. This isn't an attack on you I like to have unbiased discussions with people.

    Always want to have it their way.
    "He's not the legal guardian of either of their children" ...but they don't give a crap, they just want things their way. They want the play children instead of thinking about how they need to be there 100% for them. I'm assuming they are not covered by health insurance either?

      'Biological sex' is a term describing a tendency occuring im nature, not a law.
      So there are some individuals who may be existing beyond this tendency.
      And despite the fact that gender is a social construct, it is real.
      Money and countries are too social constructs and it would be stupid to say that you don't believe in them.
