    This is great... I have made a number of A-frame tarp shelters but I never thought that staking the sides in a bit from each end would give such perfect sloped doors so I just have the wind blowing through if I don't have something else to close off the ends. Thanks !!

      Thanx a lot 😊. Please think about
      a seize more than a 3 by 3 m tarp because of the room inside. Enjoy your new shelter setup.

    Thanks for showing this. I think I will try out this set up. This is a good one, which can also be done with a rectangular tarp (which is what I have, a 3x4), and since I am a woman of only average height, I will use the longer side to give my tent length, and a height of roughly 1.5m for the tent is plenty.

      Using a 3,5 m square tarp will give you enough room. A 3 m tarp is tricky 😉

    If you rotate the tarp 90 degrees (so still square) you can use 2 of the loops (which are now on the ridgeline) to create more headspace.

    Only found you today, March 1, 22. I saw your triangle tarp up against a tree video and had to check it out. It’s my favorite but I do it several different ways. I left you a comment there and then watched this one. Two excellent tarp pitch’s and brief videos. If I may suggest, show some closeups of some of the steps involved. Some people are new to the idea of camping or using a tarp instead of a tent. The area you’re in, had there been a forest fire in the past? Beautiful spot but I saw that the trees showed stress and no limbs down low. Good job on the video. I will check out your channel. ✌️🇺🇸 edit: just looked and read. I wish I understood German but the two videos I’ve seen are in English, maybe some others are too. I hope you make that full hike in honor of your father. 👍

    • @andreasmulleroutdoor2452
      @andreasmulleroutdoor2452  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Jason, thank you so much for so much input. In the future I will make most of my videos in english, because i want to get in contact with like minded people in the whole world. So pleace stay subscribed if you see sometimes a video in german. I have allready planed videos about smart survival skills and snacks from mother nature. The forest is in the area of Halbe, Brandenburg. We have had three times in a row dry summer without rain - so many trees have died. And there is another story: It is called the Kesselschlacht (boiler battle) of Halbe - last battle of the german army in world war 2. It was the absolute hell - the german soldiers were surrounded by the russian army and couldn‘t get out - most of them died. Some soldiers were able to escape. They had only one aim: to get prisoner of war by the US Army. They knew that the americans would be fair and human to them. A few years later we become true friends. The reason was in 1948 the blockade of Westberlin by the russians. With the help of the americans, british and french the people of Westberlin could survive. Today i think about all that because of the terible war in the Ukraine. My wife comes frome there and is very sad. We do what we can: donate Equipmemt and money and pray to god to stop this war.

      @@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 Yes, praying for Ukraine and strength for your wife. She must have friends and family still there. If you are unaware of some guys who are great TH-cam bushcrafters, here’s some you should check out. Really Big Monkey, one of my favorites. Far North Bushcraft and Survival. Corporal’s Corner. Northwest Primate. Gray Bearded Green Beret. If you didn’t know of these guys, look at some of their recent stuff for some motivation and see what they may add to your efforts to make a good channel. I’ve not seen Northwest Primate post anything new recently but he’s brilliant and skilled. Same for Far North B&S. Both those guys have videos showing how to find only natural materials in the wilderness and create fire, using nothing else but from their environment. Corporal’s Corner has some amazing bush crafted survival shelter videos and is a lashing master. Really Big Monkey is very skilled, creative and his friendliness is evident in his videos. He always makes me laugh and feel good. Like Felix Immler. One I’ve been watching for several months now is Ranger Survival and Field Craft. I just recently learned from him how to light a candle with a ferro rod. Much great information and we all keep learning. Being in Germany I assume you are aware of TA outdoors, Simon, a bloke in the woods, and of course Survival Russia. Crazy Russian Hacker too. Just food for thought and encouragement and some guys to emulate because they are skilled at both bush craft AND making videos. Fun guys too. Good luck and see you soon. Again, prayers for Ukraine and peace for all people. 🙏🇺🇸✌️
