The first big mainstream disco hit, maybe… but definitely not the first true disco song. That honor belongs to The Intruders, with “Win, Place, or Show (She’s a Winner)” from two years earlier in 1972. That was hands down the very first fully realized disco song. It just wasn’t a big well known hit like Rock The Boat was, though it did get some chart action in the UK two years after it’s release.

Me Too
Rock on with your bad self!
So do I. Greetings from PERU
We have some something in common.
Same
This song will always remind me of the 70's .
... this is not D.I.S.C.O. ...this is authentic : Philadelphia (o Philly) sound, Philadelphia soul, o Sweet Philly

Grande musica molti ricordi
If you grew up in the 70s it's as 70s as you can get.
Me to
Cette musique enchante mes oreilles et mon coeur se croit à Rio. Excellente performance
The 70s were explosive times of hit after hit. So many great songs and artists. Am radio 📻 brought songs into many homes then and they were fantastic. If only the generation of these times could have enjoyed them in the same way.
It was a different time sir, but the music from that time lives on!

I wonder how many in this week's chart will be as enduring?

So I was 6 yrs old and listening to this as a missionary kid in Barbados. I had to sneak and listen to it when my Dad went out. Listening to it brings back memories of pure JOY!! Lololouder Blessings to y’all 😂
1974, Brings me memories of that summer. Living with mom and my brothers and sister. At 611 S. Prince St. Lancaster, Pa. Listening to it 7/13/20 7:27am.
Cool memories thanks
Your family was rocking it early in the day!!!!
Me too. I remember listening to KLIV in San Jose.
I fell in love with this song as a child in the 1970s and it has never gone away...
Just a few days into 2025… this takes me all the way back to 1973. They’re all gone now. Every one of my friends from that beautiful carefree time in my life. It’s hard to outlive all your friends…💔
How did these guys not have a whole bunch of hits?? They were awesome!😁
The old music is much better. Better melody, singing, and lyrics..
En todo 👍
