Louis was asked in an interview about the decision to have a black actress play his ex with his 'kids' being white. He said she was great in the audition so he gave her the role and basically said fuck the audience, in a funny way of course.
I wish movies and tv shows did more of these still shots for a whole scene. It adds so much realism to the scene, it's like we are watching and we're not supposed to.
This is really weird to watch, because here in my country public schools are completly neglected by the government and they're generally bad, poor and very troubled education wise, so seeing private schools being painted in a bad light is pretty interesting
Felipe Trindade private school is looked at as almost exclusively upper class. That's why Louie's saying they won't see the "real world". No ones painting it in a negative light in the scene at all. In fact at the end of the scene Louie literally says that it's his bias that's the problem not the private school itself.
That's the point. US public schools suck, and to go through them you have to learn how to deal with the real world. Private schools are cozy and well-funded, by they represent every flaw in helicopter parenting.
I went to a really good private school and they constatly drilled into us that we were privilaged and had a resposibility to use our advantages in life to help others.

The problem is thus imo: tthere is no middle ground between public and private school. There should be a top notch public school. And there should be private schools where people meet all kinds of people.
The kids at private school may come from more privileged backgrounds but it's not going to be any more "protected" than a public school. There are still bullies, popular kids, losers, unfair teachers, and all the psychological fucked up-ness that just comes from growing up.
I’m sure there is but like Louie said they cater to the kids ideas and feelings, and the kid’s and parents have way more say in everything. In public school nobody gives a shit, because there’s no reason to.
The fact that you'll be associated with only people who are close to your revenue is a bubble. Though in public schools by districts you'll also be selected by the value of your neighborhood. Private school just takes the selection/segregation one step further.

Or…or…this show doesn’t have internal consistency, with different actors playing the same role in different episodes and Louis said he doesn’t really care about having a standing cast that makes sense.

I respect his choosing quality over a fear of being discontinuous.
It adds dimension and puts focus on performance
It annoys people on the spectrum, which is good enough for me lol. Logic this and logic that, just roll with it already
