      That slide hammer is available from snap on. I have 2 of them to pull the pumps out of automatic transmissions.

    SUBSCRIBED!!!! Rick - THANK YOU for making these videos. This is exceptionally well presented and informative. I have had a 66 426 short block sitting on an engine stand in my shop for the last 8+ years, it is destined for my 70 Roadrunner but other projects have gotten in the way. I am really interested in seeing the valve train information.

      @@rickseeman5679 id rather have a good income/job/50k-100k-per year than cheap foreign goods and a poverty job under-20k, dearly someone who has/is competing for a good manufacturing job a a millwright/mechanic ,ps former auto-mechanic mostly on DSM's and chevy/caddy's
      anyways i will check the other videos for your take on gen-2 hemi's as iv got one in the shop in a 60's charger restomod

    Thank you Rick for sharing this info on the king of the V8's. Long live the mighty Chrysler 2nd Hemi! There is a reason why the engineers choose to "only " run the Mighty Hemi in TopFuel ! Even with that said it still even makes a great street engine if you don't have a budget....lol

    Same thing with snap rings, they have a round side and the other side a hard edge, due to them being punched out.
    But you are so correct about the washers being directional hard side is pressure side, snap rings hard side out so it's less likely to slip off.

    Re the studs vs bolts IIRC there was a vid, perhaps from Engine Masters on TH-cam where they did a test and checked the bores and they were way off after the studs were fitted. It may well have been a junk Chevy block LOL.

      I think they will physically fit but would be too much trouble compared to the Gen 3. I think they are married to the Gen 3. Thanks for watching.

      @@rickseeman5679 we are getting ready to build a hemi for a 71 Barracuda. Do you know the weigh difference is between the KB aluminum and the Callie’s cast iron block? Also do you think one is stronger than the other. We plan to eventually put a couple turbos on it.

      @@tensixtythreevideo Funny you should ask that. A buddy of mine just bought a scale to use on his engine hoist and now I want one. Unfortunately, my Callies is now a short block so I can't weigh it. The Callies is very heavy. I would guesstimate the Callies is around 320 and the KB around 140.

      @@tensixtythreevideo Cast iron blocks are so expensive now it makes the KB's look cheap. For only $1,500 extra you have a KB. There are a couple of things that are different but nothing crazy. And when you get done you have a KB. That's nice.

    I wish SpeedMaster did a $1500 block for the Hemi like they do for Chevy and Ford .. I can't vouch for the Ford, but I know a few people who have done 2000hp+ on that SBC block on boost with no sweat.. As many people tell me, Speedmaster / procomp stuff is okay as long as you buy the units that have no moving parts inside them. I really should pick up another one to build a replica of the smallblock in Grumpys Vega that beat the Hemis back in the 70's!😅

      I haven't weighed each but I think the Callies is around 310 and the KB around 140

    They may be nice casting by look but they quality of the steel is worse than the old blocks from 85 and earlier. I was a steel worker for 20 years and can vouch for steel quality. Even casting iron is more brittle. I purposely look for car parts from the 60s and 70s.

    Does anyone make a shallow cylinder head with a 40 degree or even a 36 degree cylinder head instead of the 58.5 degree at a 4.500 bore ??? This should be a 2.500 intake and a 2.00 exhaust valve.

      Some heads like the Edelbrock Victor Jr and Stage V have a kicked exhaust and can go pretty big. But maybe not quite that big.

JUGGLE YOUR BEARINGS AROUND AND YOU WILL FIND YOU BE WITHIN TENGHTS AGAIN ON YOUR MAIN BEARING CLEARANCE...THE CRANK WILL NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENC BETWEEN 3.4 THOU ON 1, AND 3.5 THOU ON ANOTHER...AGAIN,A ENGINE BUILDERS DREAM..

    There are not many blocks that are aesthetically the same I don’t know why they reproduce the block and they change the way it looks completely it takes away from what it is the old Mopar mega blocks that were 4 1/2 bore Looked identical to the street hemi block

    I have a Bulldog block getting ready to throw together.Ive heard the horror stories about these blocks.have any thoughts on that particular block? I am planing in stroking it with stock bore.using7.100 length rods.Ive had block checked 3 different ways from Sunday I'm told its good.🤷

      Hopefully it will be good. I suppose you have your reasons for going with a stock bore but I don't know of much upside to it. Remember, if you are planning to use Edelbrock heads (they are the best value/flow and they're aluminum) you will have to notch the bores or the valve won't open. If you need help with this mod let me know.

      @@rickseeman5679 Finding Heads right now is a mess..went to the Nationals few weeks ago..Found one guy with a set of SR Indy heads.I do have a set of the old cast Mopar heads but really want the Vic Jr. What both would you recommend? I've always ran wedges this is my 1st Hemi build.Appreciate any advice you have.

      @@deansmiley8221 Not on 4.500" but I'm not sure when it will clear and when it won't on smaller bores. Everything is easier on 4.500 bore and parts are more available.

    The block on the left is hideous I wouldn’t buy that for any price aluminum block is close if it only had the pad on the top driver side it would be pretty good
