I passed the park many times. It should have been saved. When you’re talking Bawlmer sports, you can’t exclude Memorial Stadium. What a loss.

It was only in the Jim Palmer ERA, with Earl Weaver, were the Orioles an iconic force.
R.I.P.: Earl Weaver. Coming from a Red Sox Fan

A unique stadium, to be sure. Thanks for posting.

I wish these iconic stadiums that have seen some of the biggest, most important moments in sports didn't have to get torn down.

Greed wasted money to pamper players, and shove corporate boxes in, which companies no longer buy.

Sad seeing it as the destruction had already begun. I could not bear to drive down to see it at this tine.

@@cjones3710 But we got Camden Yards in it's place. Not a bad deal.

@@howie9751 Yeah, Camden is nice. I liked when they actually cooked Bbq outon the street and smoke billowed acorss the park. I was sad to see that chance to being done off the strret, and transfered to being just sold there. Plus rumning off vendors on the street was low, and killed the atmosphere and good will. Not enjoying ugly led boards w adverts in bullpens, the led lighting which they are attepmoting WWF style intros for bullpen pitchers. Removal of the smoking section has led to manyfolk smoking in the concorses with no where else to go. This is Orioles Mgnt. ccreating a problem for all where none existed before. Especially problematic w laerge crowds who have not the respect to move away from other folk, ( like some Boston fans 😀) Besides that bot printing schedules, and attempting to make ppl.purchasing tickets use web based telephones is cheap, but the worst thing is not acceptibg cash The last thingI want to.bring into a ball park.is a cell phone ! .But the no cash is the worst, wotse than those nets ... What an annoying rule, so Agenda 2030 and really anti american.
Overall I like Oriole Park, but some of the changes in policy are disapointing. It also led adverts being allowed on the oitfield walls again, which back in 92 they got special permisson. They had no idea what it would lead to now...the wallpapering and junking up of clean feilds of the 70s and 80s and early 90s with fun house of advertisements, like a minor league park.
IAnywhow. The crowds that are into.tbe game at Memorial were better, Oriole Park.had great crowds in 2012 thru 16. But too many regular season games are quiet and attended by ppl there for something to.do.maybe? Or perhaps having too many clubs in postseason has led to lesser importance on the regukar season. ? I do nit know. Both parks.are nuce. At least I never got bumper to bumoer stuck at Oriole Park 😀

@@cjones3710 Haven't been there in a few years, didn't know the vendors and BBQ were gone. I miss the ivy on the center field wall.

I wish that had saved the Memorial from the stadium on 33rd Street in Baltimore.
That would have been a fantastic show of support of the past teams that played there.

I'm not from the Baltimore area, but I did get to see a game here once. /Real good park. I particularly like the fact that there were no fences around the parking lot and people could picnic on the outer lot grass before a game. At the time I wondered why the Orioles needed a new stadium, but I've been to Oriole Park at Camden Yards twice now and wow. I think it's the best all around park in the majors.

Was there is 1966 when Frank Robinson hit HR completely out of park.

I live 15 minutes away from Camden, and it is not, due to crime that takes place in the city, it is sad. The best is PNC park in Pittsburgh by FAR!!

@@MrBaltimoreRon Sorry to hear that. I've never been to PNC. Been to Camden Yards twice and loved it both times. PNC looks nice too, but nothing looks as relaxed and says "baseball" instead of "amusement park" like Oriole Park. Most of the other parks look like they're trying too hard. Never had a problem with the Camden Yards neighborhood but you would know better than me. Hope some day to see PNC and Oracle Park.

Memorial stadium was definitely one of the greatest sports cathedrals, RFK is next unfortunately.
