I graduated from NC State university with a masters in engineering management & currently I am working as a senior project manager.
I love to travel the world and you will always find me hopping to my next adventure.
If you are planning a masters abroad, please just remember one thing- There will be times when it wont feel fun, you will be alone and second guess everything! Social media influencers tend to showcase only the positive sides (I am guilty of that too!), however nobody talks of how hard it gets sometimes. You will face isolation, loneliness, vulnerability and you will get STRONGER but you should know its not an easy ride.
Please be sure to make your own decision- ask for advices everywhere, take into account the reasonings behind each opinion, however please make sure the final decision of choosing the university, country, course etc is your own!!

The situation is eerily similar in India… from layoffs to ghost job openings, situation is bad for freshers in any tech job 😭 add to that the financial stress if someone decides to pursue masters🤦♀️

Bt in India also there is no job. Indian companies are already laying off many employees. I think AI is the reason. Cuz many Indian service based companies are also not hiring freshers much and laying off many employees. @@arushikworld

Situation is so bad even getting voluntary job is also difficult, lot of applications.
I am thinking about postponing my plan to do MS in USA 😢. Whatever is happening is really unfortunate.

Still working part time on gas stations, motels, restaurants etc students will save more money than here in India!! So still USA is better option to move as sooner or later Indian consultancies will fix you up with some jobs in mean time you can work part time

Beta please make a video on solutions for students who have taken loan and not getting jobs in usa, I mean suggest alternative options for them. My son is also going for fall 2024. How can he look for jobs in May be European countries. I have heard Canada is in an equally bad phase.
@@rupaliroychowdhury4034 US is still the best option, if not Norway Sweden or Germany can be a bit better!! Canada Australia NZ or rest of Europe is even worse due to economic meltdown and inflation! US still have the worlds highest GDP, STEM jobs are highest in the world generated in USA, and if student is in CS Engineering or Life Sciences fields he’ll be fine in US. Many of these Indian students and diaspora makes it feel look much worse than it’s.

Legally it is not, but I see students doing it. The problem is if you get caught you are deported.

I will suggest you buddy, i am in USA pursuing MS , even i have good amount of experience in IT. But if you just come out from the undergraduates or working exp of just 1-2 years then DONT PLAN Now. If you have more than 7-8 yrs of experience then after degree anyway you’ll grab a good opportunity for you.
Final decision will be yours because you have to face good or bad situation.Best of luck

Do you have any numbers to support what you say? Are there any official numbers posted as to know how many students passed in yr 2023 2024 as against placed in various jobs? Generic discussion s are ok but need some quantification
yeah I agree! Unfortunately due to issues like prestige and stigma attached with accepting being unemployed, it is unlikely to find any reports or official figures. As for universities, no university that I am aware of requires students to report their jobs and salaries for publicly available data. they do require us to submit our job details but its strictly for their records.. its unlikely to find quantified report/any data representing % of Indians who find jobs.. I think if they do that, the number of students coming in will automatically drop!

Bruh! Don't make this biggest mistake, if u got the job just get some more or proper number of work experience, currently and for more years the tech job market is extremely worse, competitive, qualitative in US like a hell lot and u may regret for quitting ur current job in India if u don't find a job in US after masters. Also, Indian job work experience doesn't count in the US as long as u have worked in Google , Microsoft or Amazon like companies so please don't make this big mistake and come to US only if the company u r working is getting u to work in US otherwise it would be a worst decision of ur life trust me.

thats the hope!! But 2 years ago when I was applying to jobs (I graduated in dec 2022), we really thought it would pickup by mid of 2023, which it didnt, it has only gotten worse...so I wish it improves for the better now!

If you are ok with the market risks , you can afford the expenses and want to study abroad, coming wouldn't be the worst idea, however if you want an assurance of the economy for jobs, this certainly isnt the most stable timing
