If you go around in North Dallas, you can see the kids who graduated in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, etc from UTD, UNT & UTA working in Gas stations, restaurants, etc. Many of these kids have taken Rs.50/60 lakhs loan to study in the US.

I have researched the US job market since 2021. The situation has gone really bad in the 2024. Constant market crashes, students doing master's are jobless for 1+ years, some are even going back. I would suggest that students have patience, gain experience in India, then come for masters after analyzing the situation for couple years.

very well said. i am taking PhD in mathematics and still finding it hard to find internship in industry. most of IT work can be done remotely so companies are outsourcing this work. i would say try to get PhD, i know its tiring and long route and less paying but it is recession proof. you can do phd right after bachelors and can graduate in four years in some cases. Having a phd in current economic conditions will at least give you $70-$80k teaching position and you dont have to take loan since phd is always fully funded.

The ones that are available need US citizenship or green card. One that are available for us pays really less, below 55K.
      May ask you to relocate.
But yeah if you have super connections, you can get many referrals but remember they won't straight away hire you as managers because of the hierarchy working differently in all companies, not to mention we are talking about a different country here.

45 - 50 LPA … I’m assuming you get 40 LPA after taxes or 38… I’m guessing you spend.. 8 to 10 L .. which leaves you 28 L in savings (it’s 33K USD) .. I think you can save a bit more than that coming to USA. SF is expensive. But you get to experience US life too. Making friends might be difficult in the beginning. But it will get better later. Think from expenses and savings perspective. Might give you an answer. But if you’re someone who needs to be in touch with extended family and friends .. then US might not be a good choice for you.

Secondly with h1b, you miss out on large number of jobs that are in federal and state goverment where only Citizens and green card holders can apply. The most important distinction comes if you are laid off which can happen as a financial transaction to anyone with skills, h1b does not give you enough time especially in recession to look for next opportunity. Further, welder delivers his output to organization by the same day of joining whereas engineers need to be trained for one year. Today or tomorrow, reality will catch up.
