    Question... We've enjoyed the markets in Mexico, Guatemala and Thailand to name a few. Where have you found the best markets around the world?

    Fun! I’ve been to markets all over the world in Africa, India, Mexico, etc. So much better than going to a huge grocery store. Great opportunity to strike up conversations.

    Fun video you guys! You inspired me to venture down to the market with my son who moved her recently from Portland. Sounds like your Spanish is coming along. I need to get to work on it! Loved the music choices!

    That's a good idea. What do you need to open up a bank account

    • @NativeNomadsVlog
      @NativeNomadsVlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      We opened one through Intercam. You don't need to be a resident, but just go in with proof of a rental agreement through a bill (like utility/electric) and that was it, as far as we know. Things might have changed but it was pretty easy when we got it a couple of years ago!

    Thanks for this. Was the produce fresher than what you can find in stores?

    • @NativeNomadsVlog
      @NativeNomadsVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      100% fresher than the grocery stores. You have to eat or freeze all of the produce pretty quick because without the preservatives that they use at the bigger grocery stores the food goes bad quick which I guess is a good thing :)

    • @pablerry
      @pablerry 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      a lot of the produce in the mercado is less than 24 hours from being harvested, from local farms, they bring the produce direct from the little towns and farms at 4-5 am.

      We will look in the unedited footage and see if we can find the price. I think we paid per egg :) Definitely less expensive than the big box store.

    Do you have to waer a mask in merida in July 2022 ????

    • @NativeNomadsVlog
      @NativeNomadsVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Inside of buildings you still need to wear a mask. They have become a little more loose with needing to wear a mask on open streets since this video was shot.

      Yes it is, all the local produce, with the exception of apples, pears and other fruits and vegetables that are not harvested in the region, some of them are massively produced in other areas of Mexico, but pestisides like glyphosate are banned in Mexico, also Monsanto.
