@@MainelyFlies the "Rock-cased Caddis" is mislabelled here and is the description, FYI. That was my favorite. I've not seen any fly quite as stunning. Cheers.
You’ve been asking for loner videos so here it is! These are the top 10 patterns (based on views) I have created in 2022. I just received my 100,000 subscriber plaque yesterday, this this made me a bit reminiscent. So, I thought we would look back on the videos that built this community! Thank you all once again for following along! Also, let me know if you like these longer videos, I can make more compilations of patterns that will work for specific species, areas, or water bodies as we continue to grow out our data base of patterns.
Regarding the first, egg-fly. We used to wind bright chenelle into a ball-shape instead of the bead, and basically finish the same way. We would add a slight dash of superfine pearlescent/reflective material to add a 'shine' to the 'egg', and it worked much better than the non-shiny version. I bought some of the shiny material in '98, and still have enough to keep me going for several decades. We used to call it a 'nuke egg'.
Dude you blew up! Congrats. Been watching your vids a long time. I am a native mainer, living in Vermont. Hope to see you on the stream sometime! Make it to western Maine and fished my first outing at GLS last fall! Landed a few salmon on the GR ! Works as good as it did for you.
Thanks Jeffrey! Honestly no I’ve never seen or thought about one but that would be so cool! would you actually use something like that or just want to see one made?
@@MainelyFlies I actually would fish with it. I have an army reunion coming up in a couple of months and I was going to give them to my brothers. Are battalions unit crest has green seahorse on it. None of the guys in my fly fishing clubs have heard of it either. I do believe it would be a magic fly though
Thanks! glad you enjoy it! I do the shipping is higher but if your fine with that happy to send some your way. The exchange rate is worked into the site shouldn’t cause you any problems
I don't subscribe to that view. Bugs tumble in the water, so a fish doesn’t care. Look at it this way. What do you do if you are starving and your bugger is served upside down?
I'm going to guess the 500 y/o partridge SH was created in Europe before the 'western' world was 'founded'. SH really triggers a good primal strike from a fish actively feeding!
What’s the whole thing behind a fly being banned? It’s a generally understood fact that better equipment means better fish. (With the right level of skill of course)
It’s kinda weird with fly fishing because we often use the fly rod knowing very well it’s not the best way to catch fish. Because of that there are many purists that hold definitions of a fly very tightly. Not everyone’s like that, I personally don’t care what people use. I just bring up the discussion because the algorithm seems to like it. Just about every video I put out on it hit my top ten list out of hundreds of videos

I wonder about a maggot made with that glowing stuff.

Would love if you do vidoes for specific fish

That caddis immigration was just brilliant best I've seen yet great tying

Super ideas.
They are very interesting. They are very nice.
Thank you very much.
Great patterns. Look forward to more
I can’t wait to tie and try the glow in the dark squirmmy. I have som glow in the dark beads to try as well. Thanks for your patterns and ideas.
Nice up-close shots and easy directions. #flies
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks bro! Been waiting for this for a while
(A nice buggy look) love it!😊
Still got to make that into a sticker or something
Been following you for a while and I love the flies you tie. I know it's a crazy question but would you know any seahorse patterns.
Thanks Jeffrey! Honestly no I’ve never seen or thought about one but that would be so cool! would you actually use something like that or just want to see one made?

Great videos man love your stuff!!!!!
Thanks Ryan plenty more to come
do more of these please :)
Will do!
Great now you have me looking for minute rocks
I always brush out my hair to give myself a nice buggy look 😎
Where do you get the rocks for the case? Tight lines🐜🕷️🐛!!!!
I got them from the ground in my driveway
@@MainelyFlies thanks
Why do you use the hairs ear here?
I like its mix of fibers. It has short and long guard hairs that make for a great look. However, you can swap it for any dubbing you want
What bobbin do you use? With the white tip.
great flies
Beautiful bugs!! 🎯 rock caddis is the 💥!! Stick bait is another awesome little bug 🐛

Great Video. Enjoyed every moment of this..Thank you. Do you send to New Zealand.?? And if so how will I have to spend in US Dollars.??

Great patterns, thanks
Top 👍. Thank you
Cool stone fly
What size hook are you using here?
This was a 12 or 14, I think, cant quite recall.
now thats a buggy look
Do you sell them??
If so could you send a link?
I do here is my website. Some have to be requested in a custom order as the current stock has sold out www.mainely-outdoors.com
the steelhead fly in my opinion should have had the shell back on the other side since the jig hook rides with the hook up

Nice video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
anyone know how these fair in the UK ?

How can I purchase these flies
You can visit my website here. Thanks for the support! www.mainely-outdoors.com/
Awesome thank you!!
Are some flies actually banned??
Adding this to my playlist! This is great! Now I don’t need to go to individual ones for the top 10!
I'll create some more collections based on species, area, and patterns as i keep growing the catalog of videos
Could not decide on any one fly I am anxious to tie all of them.
