@@gregorgerzson1767 they do, just a lot slower. If you see attribute growth of +1 or even +2 per year from 15-18 it then slows down, after 20 growth is maybe +1 per 3 or 4 years. @floriangraf3105 I might be really far off but I seem to have more luck with wonderkids depending on nationality. Argentine forwards, Portuguese midfielders & Romanian defenders seem to do well, I've had a lot of luck with Croatian wonderkids as well.
So long as the potential shows that they can improve, I focus on the personality and current attributes to see if they look good. This video just made me a little more confident in that approach. Thanks z.
I'd 100% buy that centre-back if I was like a PL team or Bundesliga etc. A 17 year old CB, with that potential, that is either footed, has 12s and 13s in the right mental areas and has 13 starting pace? for what £12-15 million, that you could easily buy for probably £7-9 million up front with performance based bonuses. He also is already decent at handling pressure as well. Just train him on defensive positioning which should get that marking/positioning to at least 14-15, if not 16s. Plus he has no adaptability issues either. Push that guy forward 3-4 points and you are talking about an either footed, very smart, fast centre-back.
The Diamond in the Rough players who come through and their "potential" isn't good, but they just keep improving are my favorite ones. I also think they are the most important players for any major club. Those players who end up in the 3 star range by 23 who started out looking like a future release just make things so much better for any club.
The AI also "tells" you which players have a chance of becoming world beaters. Look for the following: 1. Wanted sign from teams like Liverpool, PSG etc. 2. Insane market value and not at top tier teams (e.g. Bulow). If a team like Auxerre is asking $70 M for a 18 yo, he will be a world beater. 3. Contract Negotiations. For example, if a striker is asking for goals bonus or international cap salary increase it's a good sign. Of course, you still have to look at personality and attributes. Keep in mind, players with either feet or that play multiple position will get a really good scout report even if they are not that good and will never be.
+1 to all these. 👍 Just saw another video elsewhere that two-footedness cost 18 CA already, and actually would hinder growth, all other things been equal. Wondering about how many CA points are lost when a player is retrained another position by a loan club ...
While it's mostly true to not expect a player to change much in his playstyle, there can be exceptions, such as when there's a large gap between their Current Ability and Potential. But then again, it's tough to identify those cases without the In-Game Editor.
Even when the large gap between CA and PA is there, the point is that the dribbly boy is still going to be a better dribbly boy and not a shooty boy. Yeah, his shootyness will get better, but he's not going to go from speedy dribbly boy winger to target man or big complete forward or something.
@@thatissomeBSYeah, outside the true Messi like wonderkids it’s tough to increase most stats by more than 4 I’ve found. So any stats under 10 are not going to be world class. Instead of manually scouting international tournaments I just use the search filters to get a full list (15-19 year olds with at least one cap, 15-17 year olds with 5+ youth caps etc)

An excellent video! Helpful tip 1 is the most crucial rule, IMO. As a rule of thumb, add 4 to any attribute highlighted by the role you want to play him in, and you'll get a decent picture of who he will be, best case scenario. And understand, he won't get 4 in every one of those attributes. It's only a guideline.

I got to say. That while your general comment at the start about players not fundamentally changing who they are is more or less true, there is potential for change when the PA is very high compared to CA. Your example with Cisneros shows this going from a 9 which is bad, to 18 which is top class. And of course even if its exceptional, its just a dramatic change in performance in that department. Even a lower 5-7 points would still be. I myself found a young 18 yo Serbian midfielder for cheap with apparently loads of potential. Due to that I wanted him for RPM because its a demanding position and he was relativelly complete....with one issue, hisnpassing and vision were 10 and 9, terrible for a playmaker. But I believed in him and went for it. I did suffer it a bit at the start, but yet here we are. With 22 years and still potential to spare he has 17 in both attributes giving me a very complete and creative player that fits the role greatly together with his other mental and physical increases. Of course I focused him on passing for 2 years. But when its a single thing that uou need to really chamge, it is possible if the potential is high. Its true that other departments I didnt focus on, like technical and mental defensive aspects, have barely moved but those were good enough to start. So throgh development he was really allowed to fit a role he apparently wasnt meant to.
Currently playing in Hungary, it's a great save if you want to sign the younger aged potential wonderkids, mostly from Africa and Eastern Europe. South American players who never left the continent are great to loan until you have something going.
When I'm in just below the top league I like signing wonderkids, because it gives them a year at least of playing together before getting into the top league, meaning we don't need to renew the whole team when we get promoted, only half or so. Also lower stakes being not so good in the 2nd league than the first lol.
One caveat here is that hidden attributes can be improved just like visible ones are through mentoring, so all one needs is a great olders player with lots of determination and good hidden attributes to pair them with wonderkids.

i ususally look for young players that have high determination, work rate, natural fitness, stamina and good personality (almost no one has all of that, but that't the stuff I always look at), and they almost always develop into world class players
I find that in youth intakes there's no time to scout a player before you can lose the opportunity of compensation and instead of nabbing a 15 year old for £750k, you have to pay £20m. I usually go by 'the higher the value, the higher the potential'.
If I am not in a top league I scout in less scouted regions, think south africa, morocco, or central america, for wonderkids at that level, buy them up, teach them the language then sell them in Euope for profit. Great way to get finances.
One thing about professionalism that almost nobody knows is there's a REALLY easy way to tell if a player has high professionalism or not. If they tuck their shirt in for matches they have high professionalism, if they don't then they have low professionalism.
I got a basic ass youth recruit as far as stats go EXCEPT as a 15 year old he has 16 finishing. Oh! And he‘s a LW. He scored in every game and those arrows are always up. Potential is 3 stars but he’s consistently the best player. Damn those stars!
is it just me or is it more realistic to have the editor on for scouting bc any scouting team is gonna have access to FM as a baseline for most players in real life. Like my local USL 2 scouts use the info for real scouting and don't just keep it locked to a set potential. PA I know in real life is variable but locking a scout out to a specific region or info is acting like they don't have the internet until higher judging ability.
What leagues are you likely to be able to persuade these u18 players to join? So many times I’ve found a player that looks like he could become an absolute worldbeater but doesn’t want to join until the second he turns 18 where all of a sudden he’s ecstatic we’ve put in an offer or I get beaten to them by another team (I know nations like Brazil it’s mandatory that they turn 18 before they can move)
Maybe France? In my Monaco save, I most recently scouted a 17 year old Danish wonderkid striker who, according to the scouting report, had no interest in joining. I had a bid accepted and and suddenly he was very interested.
My Tactic for Wonderkids, as soo as I reach the Champions League consistently: If the Potential is 4+ and they are und 10 Mio. I sign Them. To make make a profitable Transfer is almost guranteed 😂
Depends how good your facilities are and how good the player is. State of the art facilities + 1 star or below CA, definitely keep them in the reserves/youth team. Good facilities + a player that is 1.5 stars or more, I’d loan them out if you can find a decent suitor
Hey, does anyone knows if you can die in FM? Like, you start at the maximum age and then play 50 seasons, will your manager stay training at 100+ year old or will the game force you to retire?
You could go to play on forever. There is no forced retirement for "your" manager, no matter what age (at some point, you may run into some oddities in terms of how his age is displayed, but that should be it).
The fact when I play FM wonderkids aren't my focus it's about focusing on the now if a team eg my wigan save when I joined them in November 2024 sat 19th in league 1 just above the drop zone signed will grigg, devante Cole, some 22 year old American forward, Alan mannus all on a free about 4 games in sat 13th in league 1. beat Leicester reserves in the papa John's trophy Ben Amos made 3 saves in the shootout we got drawn against Manchester City reserves and if we beat Cambridge united in the 2nd round replay face championship side Middlesbrough
wouldn't it be more productive to loan a player from South America to a worse team in England (if you were managing in England) so that he adapts to playing in England even if he's not in your starting 11?
I have been having problems with what I call ghost players Like a 4 star current ability striker Who by the age of 23 and been out on loan playing every game for 5 years has only ever scored 3 goals 💀 How are you 4 star and terrible Keep in mind it's my Chelsea save we win the league every year my staff are the best possible. These are supposed to be world class players but don't put up numbers when I try get them experience
Has anyone ever had a players determination drop after signing a new contract. I have a CB who was 3.5stars 20 determination, signed a new contract and his determination dropped to 4 and to 2.5 stars instantly. Not over a season it all dropped instantly.
Giving young players big contracts can drop their hidden attributes. Sometimes even a huge drop. I did some experimenting with this and noticed that mainly loyalty, determination and ambition can drop. I once had a young player who played some decent first team matches and his manager came to me asking for a new contract. I gave him the contract he asked for and his loyalty went from 14 to 1, ambition from 13 to 4 and determination from 12 to 7. Always, always decline the new contract demand for a young player.
If that player is in a mentoring group and receiving an effect from the others in it, it could just be that. A player with low determination will drop someone with higher if the experience gap isn’t right
Especially if they came from a much weaker league. I've had that happen several times. I usually sell them when I get a first decent offer for them, except when they have already developed extremely well, which is rarely the case, but even in those cases I will probablly look to sell them but only if I get a really good offer, because I prefer my players to have high determination. I only once left a player whoese determination fell from 20 to 6 to play the whole career for my club, as he was brutally good, and I was playing with a weak league club (Hajduk Split), so I just couldn't get a player even clos to his ability
@@masterwesty 24 year olds are still affected by mentoring. It tells you how much a player is receiving from a group. But it can happen after a contract too if their ambition is low
I've got a kid in my team... Well, not a kid anymore... Who has been developing nicely, gets up to 4 CA and PA, but then suddenly drops to 3 CA despite playing well and having up arrows. Frustrating. He's recently turned 26, and has won the Premier League title in every year of his professional career, so he's not so bad.
I think you mean 4 or 3 stars… ca and pa are out of 200 and a hidden value. Stars are relative to your team and are provided by a staff member. If the staff member is t good at judging current or potential ability than your stars may be a little off
@@SimersFM Or if the squad has strengthened the previously 4 star player is now only 3 stars, as the team average has improved but the player hasn't that much. This has to be kept in mind as well.
The probleme is that in the game training is not that impactful wich is a shame , the game just dosn't give us the possibility to realy shape players . The players developements are quite scripted and you can't go from a 9 passing to a 16 or 17 even if the player spend 5 years training and working on his passing skills wich is unrealistic . Even zealand can have a 16 passing if he works hard for years.
Z saying that you can't push an improvement of more than 7/8 in a given attribute - Me who has an wonderkid cominho through my Youth intake that went from 5 vision to 16 vision and still has a star left of potencial ability to achieve - pff amateur
I cant believe that player can only grow by 25 % or only grow by 4 in an attribute in his career, or is that to age 23? How somebody have then 17 in attriute in his peak of his career? In this case his attribute must be 13 when he was 15 years old.
I checked with FM genie scout. i had 2 players with 187 potential. one guy is 90 CA the other 110. they are 16 years old, 1 guy 110 CA the other guy 90 CA. they 110 CA went in average 4 points up highest was 6 point . The 90 CA highest was 7 points. That is if they reach theirs potential. u can see what kind of an player u get. So u right with 4 points average growth. really good video
What i find absolutely dumb and really really really stupid in FM is that i've seen a lot of regens that look extraordinary but are basically a trap. I've seen regens spawning with 120 CA, looking like they are gods, but having PA of 140. I think thats just unrealistic bullshit. I think the game should have like at least 40-50 ability points between CA and PA when regens spawn. It should still vary, like 40->200 or 80 -> 140,... but never spawn a regen having almost the same CA and PA. I doubt a guy whom is born a star and age 15 and can play directly in the first team cannot progress. Its like in real life, players like Messi or Rooney would've never progressed past the age of 17. And to make it clear, im not saying it cannot happen for lower levels of play. Im sure there a lot of young players that are good for 1st team in 3rd division that dont end up as stars.. but a kid that could directly play for Barcelona at 15,, unable to progress? thats unrealistic. To put it in game terms, CA 80 -> PA 140 is ok (the 3rd divizion kid), but CA 120 -> PA 140 is just simply unrealistic.
Yes, he talked about it on stream. If you mean a video should come out on, in my personal opinion it was just the release date announcement and a trailer, nothing big for the moment. I think the feature announcements in the next weeks will be more significant to do a video about.

My 3 cents, that high current ability as Z showed(in 16 year old) most likely wont happen for you ever,. Z is cheating that's why he can show things like that . Or plays old versions of FM ( in old versions it was easier). Well i play with database that has only 80000 players maybe Z palays with larger one, but i have all the important leagues included.

i ususally look for young players that have high determination, work rate, natural fitness, stamina and good personality (almost no one has all of that, but that't the stuff I always look at), and they almost always develop into world class players
Of course they still have to have decent other attributes
I find that in youth intakes there's no time to scout a player before you can lose the opportunity of compensation and instead of nabbing a 15 year old for £750k, you have to pay £20m. I usually go by 'the higher the value, the higher the potential'.
I really liked tip number 5 😂
What are the best media handling type's? I know the personality stuff and used to ignore the media handling but would like to add it to my game.
I have a question: The potential ability rating that the scout give me is according the rest of the players in my team or the league that i play?
Thank you papa Zealand
Tip: sign antony milambo from feyenoord and jevon simons from psv
Thanks for the content. Any chance of The Network Game returning or the Show Down. Stay safe 👊
"If you're not in the top league, signing Wonderkids is not where you are."
*laughs in Sunderland*
i couldn't find Nahuel Cisneros
The Freddy Adu clip 😂😂😂
I got a basic ass youth recruit as far as stats go EXCEPT as a 15 year old he has 16 finishing. Oh! And he‘s a LW. He scored in every game and those arrows are always up. Potential is 3 stars but he’s consistently the best player. Damn those stars!
Is there a recommended limit of players for each mentoring group or can you add a crazy number of players?
That ai head shot looked like Ethan Klein of H3.
Could this personality link also work with previous FMs?
Earning your phd in finding wonderkids takes a lot of trial and error
Do players with low adaptability struggle when going out on loan
wait, so is it hard coded that between 19 and 26 a stat cant improve by more than 1? because i swear ive seen some improve by like 2...
is it just me or is it more realistic to have the editor on for scouting bc any scouting team is gonna have access to FM as a baseline for most players in real life.
I see the development arrows up for some of my players over 26 sometimes tho? I imagine it's much slower then but does this not happen?
I only look at personality type and determination if the player is younger than 20
My Tactic for Wonderkids, as soo as I reach the Champions League consistently: If the Potential is 4+ and they are und 10 Mio. I sign Them.
To make make a profitable Transfer is almost guranteed 😂
Do I loan out youth players under 18 to develop them, or do i keep them in my youth team?
Loaning makes sense after 17/18.
Depends how good your facilities are and how good the player is. State of the art facilities + 1 star or below CA, definitely keep them in the reserves/youth team. Good facilities + a player that is 1.5 stars or more, I’d loan them out if you can find a decent suitor
Thank you! @@matthewvaughan8192
LANUS MENTIONED 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻 Y DALE DALE DALE DALE DALE DALE DALE GRANAAAAAA
Hey, does anyone knows if you can die in FM? Like, you start at the maximum age and then play 50 seasons, will your manager stay training at 100+ year old or will the game force you to retire?
You could go to play on forever. There is no forced retirement for "your" manager, no matter what age (at some point, you may run into some oddities in terms of how his age is displayed, but that should be it).
@@Oakster_ thanks man, been asking myself that lately, but sadly i don't have much timr avaiable to test it
Eventually it just keeps showing 99 from what I heard
I love them young
The fact when I play FM wonderkids aren't my focus it's about focusing on the now if a team eg my wigan save when I joined them in November 2024 sat 19th in league 1 just above the drop zone signed will grigg, devante Cole, some 22 year old American forward, Alan mannus all on a free about 4 games in sat 13th in league 1. beat Leicester reserves in the papa John's trophy Ben Amos made 3 saves in the shootout we got drawn against Manchester City reserves and if we beat Cambridge united in the 2nd round replay face championship side Middlesbrough
I'm not a native but...do you know how the English language works?
The wonderkid on the thumbnail looks like ethan klein lol
7:55 missed the free Balotelli joke :/
Zealand can u do a greek save on fm24
Bro loves football more than kai havertz
wouldn't it be more productive to loan a player from South America to a worse team in England (if you were managing in England) so that he adapts to playing in England even if he's not in your starting 11?
Well, he would need the same time to adapt to the new country, while maybe playing more but the training facilities are also probably worse.
adaptability or as as Zealand calls it dadaptability
There is a way thay require a lot of skills and game knowlage , fm editor i think
Anyone know where to see a players media handling style
This title can easily be mistaken for some proper dodgy activity 😅
great how this work on console?
I have been having problems with what I call ghost players
Like a 4 star current ability striker
Who by the age of 23 and been out on loan playing every game for 5 years has only ever scored 3 goals 💀
How are you 4 star and terrible
Keep in mind it's my Chelsea save we win the league every year my staff are the best possible.
A player with low determination will drop someone with higher if the experience gap isn’t right
@@matthewvaughan8192 No it was instantly when he signed the contract, he’s 24 so shouldn’t be that effected even if he was in a mentoring group.
Do an MLS to Club World Cup save. 😂
Me anytime I struggle with names I have to go to Google translate to find out to pronounce it don't know why I care to do it
Much prefer these types of videos to videos about Fiji's national team.
More graduate courses plz. I'm behind on my credit hours. XD
I cant see media handling style on my players, anyone know why?
Lots of skins don't show it on the player profile screen. Go to overview->information, and you'll find it there.
Needing high professionalism is unrealistic, look and Suarez and Ronaldinho lol
As long as the attributes were improving then the CA stars don’t really matter once they’re at your club. It’s heavily form-dependent, too.
Why does the regen in the thumbnail look like ethan klein
@Zealand yo wth the AI generated guy in the thumbnail is my face with blonde hair. AI IS GOING PLACES BROTHER...
Hi
The probleme is that in the game training is not that impactful wich is a shame , the game just dosn't give us the possibility to realy shape players . The players developements are quite scripted and you can't go from a 9 passing to a 16 or 17 even if the player spend 5 years training and working on his passing skills wich is unrealistic . Even zealand can have a 16 passing if he works hard for years.
No he cant.
Z saying that you can't push an improvement of more than 7/8 in a given attribute -
Me who has an wonderkid cominho through my Youth intake that went from 5 vision to 16 vision and still has a star left of potencial ability to achieve - pff amateur
Or well, you know; Use fm genie scout😂
Doesn’t really work 6 seasons in does it… hell, 1 season.
Personality means everything.. Balanced personality = trash ..
I'm BEAST at finding wonderkids without even scouting them . Just by looking at their attributes, I can guess how much their potential can be .
6:59 why would adaptability matter if he moved from an english club to another
Does he know that FM24 has been announced? 😂
Yes, he talked about it on stream. If you mean a video should come out on, in my personal opinion it was just the release date announcement and a trailer, nothing big for the moment. I think the feature announcements in the next weeks will be more significant to do a video about.
You need to shave that head again bro

My 3 cents, that high current ability as Z showed(in 16 year old) most likely wont happen for you ever,. Z is cheating that's why he can show things like that . Or plays old versions of FM ( in old versions it was easier). I have scouted all youth intakes ( from all leagues around the world ) for 3 seasons there was not a single player remotely close to that first one , not even anything similar to Rafael. Well i play with database that has only 80000 players maybe Z palays with larger one, but i have all the important leagues included.
Cisneros wasnt even his player, why would he cheat? His database is bigger though for sure.
@@thargoff well cheating part is just a joke, but most of the stuff he does, does not work on my saves. Like force selling players . Unless player plays well no chance of selling him, even if he plays well but has high wages ( over 8mil GBP) .
Ok big fudge
