For the water test in the toilet, it’s best to use a long leveller , the leveller should show u how much is slanted to the drainage….the tiler use this method to prepare the cement base..
Hello, thanks for stopping by! Yup, it's not really compulsory but it would be recommended to do so since your new home is warranted for defects for a year. If you commence renovation and there happens to be defects found along the way, HDB may not rectify the defects for you as they may claim it was caused by the renovation works. You may end up having to pay additional fees to your ID/contractor to rectify those defects for you. Hope this helps! 😊
Hi can i know joint inspection with the supervisor, how many days they call u and say they have fix the defect? And is it all fixed in one time fix defects by their workers?
Hello! Depending on the type of defects that you have to get rectified, BSC has respective comtractors im charge for them (paint/tiles/eletrical etc). So likely you will have different contractors coming at different time slots, depending on their availability. Usually after you book an appointment, they will come within a week+. It may take multiple visits depending on severity.
Good video. I heard from some that BSC allows you to do renovation simulatenously while they are rectifying defects, although they must be minor such as hairline cracks in the wall/paint. Major defects like spalling or chipped tiles might delay the reno
Hello! HDB will send you an SMS on the key collection date. Depending on the stage of your BTO project progress, you will be able to estimate the date.
I see...perhaps you'll like to follow up with your officer to escalate your case. It also depends on the progress of your new home. if it isn't ready yet, i don't think you can collect your keys any sooner. Hope all goes well for you! 🙂
hello! Ours was a sbf unit so we didn't get to choose.😢 I think it buoys down to whether you intend to use the ocs items or plan to change them out. For us, it's the latter. So given a choice, we would have opted out of it to save on time and material wastage.

Any defect that won't create a dangerous environment for living i would just overlook. Be cheerful, you have a new unit now! 🤓
you're right! it's up to each individual homeowners to decide what's best for them. & yes, we're happy with our new home! 😊

Thank you for sharing! Yup, you're right, you can do so as long as the defects are not major and you seek approval from BSC before doing so. 🙂

Is the piping already done by HDB when you get the keys if you opt in for the optional component scheme ?
hello, which piping are you referring to? Usually the units will come with basic piping for water and outlets and is not affected by the OCS.
Can i ask u whether ur sink kitchen the piping pop out we neeed to buy stop mini valve right wha5 yhe size we supposed to buy ½ or ¾?
hello! we didn't have to buy any stop valve as it came with it when we collected our unit.
Bicycle lock can cut easily. Most importantly don't leave any expensive appliances inside while reno is on going.. Or nearing completion.
