    Was it on purpose that the video speed is fast?? I had to play it at x0.75 speed to listen to what you're sharing properly.
    Anywho, always looking forward to your videos and updates ☺️☺️

      hello!
      yup, we sped it up intentionally because we felt that it was too long at its original speed.😅
      thanks for your support eitherway, it means a lot to us! 😊

      @@lifewithmaniac please don't speed it up next time. It was really uncomfortable to listen to. I'd watch it if it were at normal speed no matter how long it is

    HI did you do neutral wiring for your smart switches ?

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello!
      We bought smart switches which didn't require netural wiring.

    Thanks for the informative video! Wanted to ask if there is any need to get the electrician to submit to hdb for the addition/shifting of power point? And if after the completion, require to submit to SP services to test the points?

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! We're not too sure about the submission process as we left it to our main con to liaise with the electricians. You may consult with your ID/contractor on this. 🙂

    for electrical point, you can indicate the location in the layout but how do the electricians know the height of the electrical point to install at?

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      You have to roughly gauge based on the locations and intended use of the electrical points that you plan to install (to ensure that furniture doesn't obstruct it / power cables are long enough to reach).
      For us, we took reference to the electrical points that came with the BTO as a guide to the height. Alternatively, you can also refer to your current home's electrical points to decide if it is too high/low before adjusting for your new home.
      We also demarcated our intended height for the electrical points by pasting post-it papers for the electricians to take reference to.
      Hope this helps! 🙂

    Bro, looking at your video.
    May I ask if you research of AI Mesh too?
    I have a spare ASUS Router and thinking of linking and boasting my WIFI network.

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, i did some research on the mesh system too and am using it for my home.
      Would recommend it depending on where your main router is at. If it's located in the DB box, then it's best to have to have more nodes in a centralised area in your home where you can boost the wifi signal within your home. Hope this helps! 🙂

    • @david888a
      @david888a ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lifewithmaniacis there an issue moving the router out of the DB box to a more centralized location to eradicate wifi booster?

    Just a thought: you are not planning to have another fan at the kitchen area? The living / dining fan seems a bit far from the kitchen

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello!
      Good point there. We did think about that area too. Instead of a ceiling fan, we decided to cater a point for a standing fan instead. Dining area wise, we felt that a ceiling fan doesn't really fit into the design and corner ceiling fans might not be sufficient to keep the whole area cool.
      Nevertheless, we still can rely back on our AC unit right above our dining area in case it gets really hot. 😅

    Whenever there is a need for a new electrical point or a shift from the existing electrical point, does it mean that the typical pvc cable trunking is required?

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! yes you are right! It is good to plan early as some of it are not so easy to add on (built in carpentry). for exposed points still not too bad.

  • @TheWillWang
    @TheWillWang 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also do you hire ID or go with contractor only? any advices? thanks

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      we went with contractor. it'll depend on how much time you're ready to invest in managing everything on your own. for us, we were sure of what we wanted so we didn't see a need for an ID.
      hope this helps! 🙂

    the painting walls is it first step to do before aircon / electric work done ? Also did you decide where to put the electric points only when you collect your keys ? Thanks

    • @lifewithmaniac
      @lifewithmaniac  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hello!
      Painting works is usually done after aircon first trip installation (trunking) and after electrical works first trip (mainly additional/relocation of points) is completed.
      We had a rough idea of where we wanted our electrical points before collection of keys. However, we only finalized after key collection since the electrical layout was placed in the DB box, which we couldn't access until we collected our keys.
      Hope this helps! 🙂
