The next thing I knew I was listening to Op Ivy and skate punk like NOFX, Pennywise and Bad Religion, and that got me into Sex Pistols, Ramones, Minor Threat, Black Flag, etc. Green Day was instrumental the punk revival of the 90's as Nirvana was for making Alternative Music mainstream.
Dookie rocks. Tre Cool was a monster on that album. But it seems like his drumming became a little too subdued post-Dookie, and their music suffered as a result. (I get the feeling Billy Joe told Tre Cool to "tone it down a bit").
Nice video. Why don't you do a series on the pinnacle of metal -> Thrash metal from 83 till now and all the waves and the most important bands etc. A ton of cool stuff. Imo Thrash + Classic metal is the best metal that is non cringe, there are also new/modern thrash and classic metal bands that are great so its not stuck in the past. Its just something that works well.
I’m old now and so obviously my favorite bands are all legacy bands at this point, and as much as I love the Smashing Pumpkins, they’ve put out several mid to bad albums in a row and it makes me sad. Oceania was great but nothing past that has been good.

Mad respect for putting Judas Priest on the S Tier; mind-blowing how good that album is. Chinese Democracy is by far G'N'R's worst album, but I still enjoy it, and it deserves at least a C Tier. Chili Peppers' last album was not very good, but Unlimited Love, its companion album, was surprisingly good, IMO, and is a solid A Tier (with the caveat that you ACTUALLY enjoy anything they did after Blood Sugar Sex Magic).
I just got my hands on the first NOFX EP, the one that says “all drums recorded by our old drummer Eric standen.” my buddy buys surfboard from smelly and I’m going to see if he’ll sign it next time my buddy goes to pick up a new surfboard.

Certainly not, but i liked what i heard🤷🏼 To be fair i actually kinda like Danzig’s voice (while recognizing he sounds like he’s lacking technically) and the Elvis covers sounded good to me, so…
Way late to the party on this, but: It's me, the Danzig Sings Elvis enjoyer. Love both artists and I think Danzig did some good covers. Also, I think Through The Mists Of Time was a bizarre choice to represent AC/DC's Power Up. Shot In The Dark is a much better song. Not their best album by a long shot, but still solid.
Used to be...was briefly into The Offspring until I moved onto better things. Can't believe that I ever listened to Pretty Fly For A White Guy. The Noose might be one of their better ones along with the early TSOL influenced stuff like Beheaded. Beheaded is a decent horror punk song.
For context. I saw the offspring a few months ago. They did play a single song from the new album other than gone away which was a piano cover of an older song
Offspring "Ixnay on the Hombre" was the latest I could take a bit seriously. Within that window of skate-punk, that album was good. After that I'm with Finn, they went Wierd Al.
Best thing i never did was get a Red Hot Chili Peppers tattoo. I played bass as a 90s kid and loved everthying they did up to Blood Sugar, thought they were one of my favorite bands as a 10-13 year old. But yeah they changed directions pretty hard. Growing pains...

Amen, and then they had to make music past the 2010s...oof. nothing ruins a punk band like becoming the establishment
Dookie rocks. Tre Cool was a monster on that album. But it seems like his drumming became a little too subdued post-Dookie, and their music suffered as a result. (I get the feeling Billy Joe told Tre Cool to "tone it down a bit").
@@benjaminwatt2436 totally agree
Bless you Finny for putting the Metal Gods in the S tier! Rob Halford is the dad I wish I had.
Would have liked to see blink 182’s new album “one more time” here
Something fairly different. Loving it!
Hey could you maybe do a video on bands & or artists that you don't like any of there songs however you still think there talented and have lots of potential in the music industry?
Great video as always.
Danzig doing Elvis has finally made The King leave the building forever It sounds like Glenn downed a few bottles of wine popped a couple Valium then hit his home studio to lay down the tracks 😮😅😅😅😅
I loved Death Magnetic, first CD I bought when I started buying CD’s. But honestly I still think St. Anger is the best thing since the black album they put out. I’ve felt that way for the past 15 years. Glad it’s getting more recognition
Wait, you mean the same St. Anger that sounded like it had been recorded using kitchen pots and pans instead of a drumkit?
@@ROMANTIKILLER2the only thing that sounds remotely like a kitchen pan is the snare, the rest of the drum kit is fine.
I wouldn't say I'm an Offsprings fan, but i enjoyed thier first couple albums as a 90s kid. But when you put on that new album of thiers... it kinda ruined my morning.
21:55 “… not the same without Paul or Joey.” True… but God, they lucked out hiring Eloy. That drummer is a freaking beast.
I listened to a few songs from Chinese Democracy a few months and actually liked it. Does it sound like Appetite for Destruction? Certainly not, but i liked what i heard🤷🏼
To be fair i actually kinda like Danzig’s voice (while recognizing he sounds like he’s lacking technically) and the Elvis covers sounded good to me, so…
I agree about Chinese democracy but you lost me on the Elvis thing.
I love how I totally disagree with almost all of your opinions but Im still watching your videos
Hey Finn- out of curiosity, when you do lists like this, are you listening to a song or go through the entire album?
Ive heard all these before
Used to be...was briefly into The Offspring until I moved onto better things.
Load and reLoad were awesome
Love 72 Seasons. Total NWOBHM throwback. Best since the Black
Offspring "Ixnay on the Hombre" was the latest I could take a bit seriously. Within that window of skate-punk, that album was good. After that I'm with Finn, they went Wierd Al.
Americana had some tunes but Ixnay and Smash are peak everything else gets progressively worse. Ixnay and Smash are so good though. So good.
Straight up I think invincible shield is second only to painkiller in Judas priest's discography
Esp Panic Attack gave me major Painkiller vibes
Danzig made an album recording himself doing Karaoke at the bar😂
I'm a rat is the first NOFX song I heard and they got me with it I love it
i like when danzig does the crooner sound, he has a nice voice. idk that album, but i'd check it out
Rob Halford is in his seventies and sings better than most people a third his age. It's unreal
Cannibal corpse should drop a song on April fools day where it’s just acoustic and clean and announce a change in style before dropping another album. Easiest way to be the most talked about band for a while
You always start at dookie with greenday. Sometimes you mention kerplunk. Any thoughts on smoothed out slappy hours?
You went really light on green day and nofx 😂 i get it though
In Flame's new album was pretty good.
Hey @FinnMckentyPRMBA , if you like Halford, try FIGHT "War of words" album from 1993 . This was accurate tier list!
Yep I liked it back in the day
Would love to see another one of these with Lamb of God!!
That Offspring single feels very Single-ly and yeah, isn’t great but the REST of that album is awesome and feels like a return to form for them.
72 Seasons was pretty good and going back to their metal routes and stuff. Anyone who says it sucks obviously dont like metal then
Hey, Finn! Legacy bands, imo which is amazing and dogmatic, are old bands that were huge at one time, but nowadays they just tour and jam the classics and dont make new music.
Nope! Just refers to bands that have been around forever and achieved a certain status
We're gonna need another one of these after the new Motley Crüe albums drops. If the rest is anything like the "dogs of war" video they released...... we'll need that Z tier.
When do we get to see papa Finn oiled up?
If "This I Love" from Chinese Democracy would come out in their prime, the song would be HUGE.
Cannibal Corpse is one of the few classic bands who has been extremely consistent even 30 years into their careers. Chaos Horrific is one of their best albums ever imo
I'm guessing it's because of Ritchie Faulkner but priests new album is really good. Definitely the best since painkiller
Clever idea for a their list.
