- The 4th episode of the commander keen games is called Secret of the Oracle. It belongs to the second keen serie "Goodbye Galaxy!". This serie includes also another keen game, The Armageddon Machine, which is not shareware. Secret of the Oracle is shareware and can be downloaded from the downloads page. This game is actually worth to download since it has better gameplay and graphics than the other old versions.
Billy has been working on a new invention in this episode. His latest invention is the Photachyon Tranceiver, a radio that can reviece signals from anywhere in the galaxy. After playing around with his new invention, he suddenly hears a strange message: "brrzzz ... giggg ... oment of great triumph ... frzzt ... ast the Milky Way will be ... huzzzzz ... terly destroyed ... pyuneeeeeeg ... can stop us now. We will remake the galaxy in the name of the Gannalech. Power to our race! power to the Shikadi!" After zapping his parents, Billy heads to The Oracle of Gnosticus IV, who will help Billy with his mission.
But after arriving on Gnosticus IV he discovers that the Shikadi have already been there. The Shikadi seems to have kidnapped all the members of the council, and taken them all to the shadow lands in the west side of the planet. Sounds like a interesting mission for commander keen.

I was 5 years old and we lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere.. one day my dad comes home with a computer.. AND THIS GAME.... this was my life for the next few years lol
That's awesome. My dad grew up on a farm in rural Canada and I played this as a kid. I can imagine u rushing back after chores to boot up the computer. Those were the good ol days, even if it was boring on the farm.
That's amazing! I got Commander Keen's 1st episode when I was 5, and I waited thru my _whole_ childhood for him to kick the evil Mortimer's butt!

My little sister loved this game and used to play everyday in our old 486 PC (It was early 90's and we also used to argue about who uses the PC first... I used to play games like Stunts or Prince meanwhile she loves to play Commander Keen)
Unfortunately she passed away in 2005 due to unexpected heart failure. Years later finally found a copy of Commander Keen 4 in order to keep my sister's memories. If one day have my own children perhaps they would play it !

Believe it or not, i learnt my first sentences in English playing this game when i was 5 ish. I had to look for every single word in a dictionary. I'm 28 now, i am spanish and had to emigrate to the UK. Thanks videogames XD

Wow the music is amazing. I used to play this at my friend's house when we were 7 or 8. Only played the first couple of levels as we really had no idea what we were doing. Brilliant, brings back memories from 25 years ago. My friend walked into a lamp post.

This is the first video game I ever played in my life. I was 6 back then. The other day I downloaded and played it again after more than 15 years and discovered it is still as enjoyable as in the first day 🤩
Commander Keen 4 n' Prince of Persia 1989 were the 1st 2 games I ever played when I was a kid and until this day I still believe these games are some of the best games ever made.

There are a LOT of secrets in this I was never aware of. I'd even argue that it's unfair how hidden some of them are.
Partly an anti-pirating measure - you'll never fully complete the game if don't properly purchase it and get the damn guide

Even though we're past all these technological disadvantages and we're able to process a whole lot more gameplay and graphics wise, we can't seem to get a better game nowadays than we did nearly 30 years ago.

I found it on accident when I was younger. When it was fun to hit every single wall, that's how I knew it
the more levels you play, the more you get used to id's style of hiding secrets. this one can be noticed because of the odd gap in the ceilling (it looks different from every other edge in this room) and the fact that every first level from keen 4 - 6 have hidden extra lives
I was today years old when I noticed the trippiness of this game...Crazed mushrooms and trees that look like they just lit up LOLOLOLOL

Many thanks for your upload, arouse many good memories - direct home from school with classmates, down in the basement and handing out joystick right and left .. Even parents had to give a helping hand, floppy disks were not always the easiest to understand back then. Tomorrow I'll definitely get it on Steam! So cool to see this again.

And Commander Keen (Billy Blaze) has been named after his grandfather BJ Blazkowicz (Wolfenstein 3D).
In the new Wolfenstein: Youngblood (2019) game you play as one of BJ's and Anja's daughters (they're twins). Could one be Keen's mom?

Same, I think some of those sounds were actually better on the internal speaker. A lot of the 'real' sounds here are kind of too subtle.

Dude, it's 2024 and Ive only just found this channel and this video! Ahhhhh so many memories. I lived in a small town in Australian suburbia in the 90s and me and my neighbours kid would play this for hours and hours! We managed to get Aliens Ate My Babysitter (Keen 5 or 6?) on demo but it only played to level 3. I spent years wondering about that game. I also begged my parents for a pogo stick and I got a green two handled one in 1992. I literally jumped and played with it till it fell apart by 1999 😅😅😅 Thank you for this long play. Brought back happy times ✨🤗
Damn that whole trick with a certain number of inches making one foot in the pyramid of he Moon. XD And in this pyramid, if make him wait while above a moon drawing, instead of reading a book as usual he will "moon" you. ^^'

Played this a lot as a child. Addictive game because it was just challenging enough without ever having a part that you just got completely stuck on. Never in a million years would have figured out how to get to the secret pyramid. Wouldn't have played this in over 20 years, thanks for the memories.

One of the first games I've ever played (besides Lemmings). Back in the days on an old 386 with 33MHz or something with my parents :D The PC didn't even have a soundcard, so the game only played sounds from the PC speaker and I never knew the game also had some catchy music :D
