I think a lot of the problems with the series (pacing, personality exploration, fight sequences) will get substantially better with new seasons, especially when Disney sees how well this season is being received and decide to give it more support. The writers said recently that they’ve seen the critiques and realize what needs to be worked on in future seasons. I give the series so far a 7/10
Yeah, I didn't expect much from the 1st season. I'd imagine certain things would feel stiff. Still enjoyed it but thought the future seasons would progress
Ya know, re-reading the books, watching the movies, and watching the TV series Percy was really standing on business

I love seeing ppl so passionate about Percy Jackson, I wish I had this energy around me when I was reading the books.
My only real complaint so far is that the fight scenes are too short, even Percy's fight against the Ares kids (which is the best fight so far) is only like 2 minutes long
Also some of the line delivery isn't great but that's kind of to be be expected with actors this young

I agree. The action is too toned down. The fights needed to be taken further. Too short and underwhelming. I am enjoying the series though everything else is done well.
it's like harry potter one and 2, shit was really for kids, then in prisoner of Azkaban shit gets darker and in the Titans Curse is when shit really pops off.
I’m loving the show so far. Ofc I have a few gripes but the changes they’ve made and the added personal moments have all worked and elevated the story for me. I’m hyped for episodes 7 and 8 I heard those episodes are crazy

I grew up reading Percy Jackson and met Rick Riordan when he came to my school. I love the portrayal of the characters but the writing has been SOOOOOO lazy.

The most simplest answer is, The show was Disneyifed. It’s gonna get lack luster and boring. It might be accurate but the action is gonna suck and any hard hitting scenes aren’t gonna hit like they did in the books.

I liked the movie
I love how it looks. But the acting us so monotone soemtimes. Like the kids from stanger things were putting in so many diffrent rmotions. The kids form it too. Idk. Theres no emotion in the parts that are supossed to be emotional. Idk
Jason, I feel as if he was done dirty, he had the potential to be his own person but instead uncle rick decided to make him a percy clone. We had a roman praetorian who went toe to toe against a titan and won, who could fly and control the air, his personality i feel was meant to be more solemn and stoic, but instead we got a bashful and honest guy who just felt like a rip off of percy. With how the stories went with him, i feel as if his potential was never truly realized, and he could’ve been on par with Percy’s strength by the end of the heroes storyline.

I wish the episodes were longer so that they didn’t have to rush so many scenes. And I do understand that this version of Percy is much younger than the movie one (accurate to the book) but yeah the action is pretty mediocre and forgettable

I think the Percy Jackson series is poorly written
The romance between Annabeth and Percy was poorly written they get together way too late in the series as well as the tropes use weren't used in interesting ways. Also the ending of book 1 is contradictory to the beginning of Book 2. There's no proper power progression as well as the fighting gets stale as the books continue

I feel all of this! Percy jackson and the olympians is my favorite series. I agree with Gabe not being as bad, but I felt like the whole dynamic with the mom and Gabe was reversed. The mom was real submissive in the books and that was just because she had to be. There’s just a lot that have switched. THE KANE CHRONICLES!!!! Man I hope they give the series across the bridge a chance.

in the books, the ms dods fight was super short. like even i was shocked when i was rereading how short it was. it was also supposed to add this mysterious element of "is this all inside of his head or is it real?" "is he going insane?" kinda thing. as for gabe, showing an abusive stepfather for a show targeted to kids is probably too much. like in the books they're able to hide it with subtle wording, but when translated to screen like i understand why they didn't make him so evil cause it can be triggering. they're making sally not be a punching bag to gabe, and gabe seem more like a whimp (which i don't mind). personally, movie luke was so obviously going to betray them, like he's just a conniving loser and was never a friend to percy. in the movie, grover is just a standard comic relief, girl obsessed, horny character, which is a complete 180 from book grover. im just glad this show got made TOT

Gabe was important to be an asshole in the book to give them kids sumn to relate to. Percy was stronger bc of it, and was able to learn later on how to accept his mom finding someone she was happy w and fulfilled her shit 🌚
7 episodes def nerfed the show but after ep 3/4 shi jus sky dived into the garbage can timeline was fucced and the whole shi started gettin freestyled scenes taken out like the snyder cut so shi hopefully the new shi better
