Ehhh... What aang did was impressive for his time, but if he had fought korra's enemies instead and he was struggling, he would've got packed out. Korra's villains were more ruthless and powerful and more advanced benders. Also, Azula was easily going toe to toe with him and almost killed him in a couple of their encounters.

@@BayScrilla510 idk, the only one I could see giving him trouble was the dark avatar but with Aangs spiritual connection it’s doubtful he’d even end up having to fight him in the way Korra did. His avatar state completely negates anything Amon could do and the rest of the villians are weaker than ppl aang was stronger than as a 12yr old. Azula is a once in a lifetime prodigy who even on the verge of a mental breakdown came within a literal hair’s reach of beating both Katara and Zuko so it makes sense she can contend with aang. Honestly she’d be one of Korras toughest enemies too.

@isaiahthomas6744 nah. Korra would sweep Azula if korra is not mentally handicapped or weakened before the fight and at 100% korra is stomping imo. Kuvira is like the earth bending prodigy version of Azula and korra was able to handle her with little to no problems after becoming 100% again.

All Korra's enemies had a detailed plan on how to beat the Avatar, meanwhile Aangs villains will kidnap him and not proceed to kill him on the spot.
Aangs villains had a lot of opportunities to end him and they don't take it due to plot convenience. From the look of things even if Aang was hunted down and all his people were murdered he had things easy for him.

@@huesoftheheart139 i disagree wholeheartedly. ATLA didn't challenge the hero archetype in the slightest and relied heavily on typical shounen anime tropes; young charismatic but sympathetic male protagonist who doesn't "kill" or exhibit any unsavory traits. It's corny to me because it's EASY to write in that framework. LoK, on the other hand, flipped the script on its head and instead of fulfilling the typical hero archetype, deconstructed it. Korra's a female, she's abrasive, she naturally gifted, but fundamentally flawed; her ego (ie sense of self) is inextricably tied to her ability to perform. Throughout the seasons, the writers take that ability away. They removed the situational control that engendered her elevated sense of self importance. It's very akin to a kid who did well in HS, maybe even college getting into the real world and realizing no one gives af about them. How does one navigate that in a healthy capacity? It's a MUCH more interesting character study than Aang, imo. Then there's each season's villain representing an important stage of Korra's character development. Amon's the initial ego check that makes you question your self, Unaloq is the first misguided "adult" decisions you make in life that may ultimately result in trauma, i.e. enter Zaheer. That trauma impedes your ability to perform, which should ideally lead to ego death. But in order for that ego death to occur, you have to face yourself, i.e. enter Kuvira, who is Korra's direct foil. Korra then ends the series as a much calmer, collected, mentally fortified adult who is much more prepared for what life has to throw at her. It's a blueprint for the kids who grew up watching ATLA because they would have been in the same age range as Korra by the time the show aired.

If we are going 1v1's I don't think Aang really ever loses. He just energybends whoever he's against and it's GG. And he's the best at using the Avatar state, lil bro was a fully realized Avatar at 12 years old and then was able to stay in the Avatar state for 100 years while frozen.
Even if we say Aang can't energybend(even though it'd be totally in character); Aang still has feats that are more impressive than Kyoshi's, even the Kyoshi Island feat, Aang has the Battle for Yu Dao. Aang separated the entire colony from the land surrounding it, effectively cutting off both the Fire and Earth Nation forces entirely. The reason this is more impressive is because Yu Dao is the 3rd largest settlement of the Earth Kingdom, it's *massive.* Ba Sing Se is stated to be the largest city of any nation by FAR, it's like the size of a country, so if Yu Dao is even just 10% the size of Ba Sing Se, Aang is stronger. In fact there might be one single Earth bending feat greater than BOTH Avatar Aang and Avatar Kyoshi's feats, - Oma, a scorned woman(jk but fr). Oma raised the mountain that would later become home to the 2nd largest Earth Nation colony, Omashu. You could argue that this feat is greater than Aang's by virtue of it being the 2nd largest city, but I'd still argue that Yu Dao has more surface area and is therefore a more impressive feat, due to Omashu being layered vertically. Oma's feat is still more impressive than Kyoshi's though!
In Rise of Kyoshi, Yokoya (What would later become Kyoshi Island) is described as being a small town and Kyoshi Island is described as being a small island, shown to be rather small on world maps. Raising Omashu is a mountain level feat, which is greater than Kyoshi's small island feat, and separating Yu Dao from the land around it is at least relative to Omashu. Kyoshi feats just LOOK more impressive because she didn't have the same level of control as Aang, Aang was able to compress water and stone to make his bending more effective without being overtly destructive, and ofc he's a pacifist so he's holding back anyways. Kyoshi had great control later in her life of course, but Aang's control is still on a different level imo.
Aang even could've beaten Ozai without using the Avatar state, had he decided to use Lightning Redirect offensively. Lil bro CHOSE to do a pacifist run against the strongest bender of his Era during Sozin's Comet. At 12/13. Just using Kid Aang, Yu Dao makes him stronger than Kyoshi, and The Rift part 3 has Aang show that he's relative to Yangchen's most notable enemy, General Old Iron. I don't even think Adult Aang has to be brought up tbh.

And she had even stronger allies meanwhile Toph takes a while to become "Her" and Katara took even longer. The only characters in LOK who could take Ozai would be either Amon with his psychic Bloodbending, and MAYBE dark Avatar Unalaq. In either case it revolves around either catching him completely by surprise, and neutralizing his ability to move or Fire/lightning bend. Now that I think about it; given how, like others of his family, Ozai doesn't need to use his limbs and just needs air in his lungs; he'd still be dangerous. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed Zaheer, his group, and Kuvira was interesting as a threat; but none of them held a candle to the megalomaniacal, genocidal, firebending master. Kuvira's giant robot might have a chance though; not Kuvira on her own though.
They amped Ozai up the entire show to the point where he could only be taken out by a fully realized Avatar, or a supremely skilled warrior who could either take advantage of a celestial event like the eclipse, or was somehow able to get close enough to chi-block or kill him before Ozai could pull a Yamamoto and turn them to ash! Legend of Korra had a ton of potential that could've made it better than A:TLA, but the writers fumbled the bag.
1). 0:56 - I felt like Korra getting her bending back kind of ruined her potential growth. Her main character trait Season 1 was that the world was technologically evolving to she didn't know who she was without being a bender, and being the Avatar. In the season finale, she could've lost her bending, then came back and squared up with Amon anyways with just regular hands on some Dark Knight Rises timing, showed she was fighting for everyone by admitting the equalists had a point and helped to get rid of bender oppression peacefully (that whole Equalist conflict could've been handled better), then slowly get her bending back in the next couple seasons.
2). Asami - They fumbled the bag with Asami - while she's cool, she could've done so much more. She could've been like the tech-savvy non-bender friendly Lex Luthor to Korra's spiritual Superman, the other side of the Equalist conflict. She's got motive, she's the head of Future Industries, it's all right there, but somehow she had nothing to do with any of the ideological conflicts of Book 1.
3). Unalaq and Vaatu - I think they should've had the whole Harmonic Convergence and Vaatu as the final conflict of the series; it was just too big to just shoehorn in Season 2 alongside the Water Tribe Civil War (which had a good start). On that note, Unalaq had a point about the spirits needing to come back to the world, but then he just became pure evil and irredeemable for no reason. You already had half the villains in the Red Lotus anyway, just make them the overarching villains in the shadows, with their goal to get rid of the Avatar permanently (maybe they feel there shouldn't be one person with that much power, like Lex Luthor or something) by using Harmonic Convergence to take Korra's powers or something.
4). While Zaheer was a cool villain at the start, he was also kind of stupid; he wanted to free the world from dictatorships and government rule by creating anarchy, while somehow failing to realize that anarchy always turns into chaos before leading back to dictatorship (Kuvira's Earth Empire) anyway.
5). Kuvira started off as a good villain; she was honestly just sliding for the Earth Kingdom. The Earth Kingdom was in chaos and the Avatar was gone for 3 years, she stepped in to try to get things back under control. But then they made her a power-hungry psychopath for no reason. They keep doing that with Korra's villains; give them a good point for doing what they do, then turn them into nutjobs that have to be stopped at all costs, which kind of takes away from the point they were trying to make in the first place and turns them into strawmen.
6). Mako and Bolin - could've been great foils to Korra's relatively privileged upbringing in Season 1. Maybe they could dive into their life on the streets a bit more, or have them encounter their parents' killer like Katara did, I don't know.
7). Pro-bending kind of sucked - elemental team battles as a sport, and you're just stuck in a small ring throwing punches? Where's the terrain changes and the creative bending moves? You could've had a bunch of benders making mountains, rivers, small cities, even small volcanoes to fight around, with the team's objective to capture the enemy's flag or incapacitate their team. It could've been like an elemental Call of Duty or Fortnite or something, with any crazy elemental bending you could think of. Remember all the Team Korra vs. the Red Lotus fights in Season 3? Pro-bending could've been like that, except dialed back a bit for safety. Seems like a wasted concept to me.
8). What if during Harmonic Convergence, Korra willing gave up her powers for good, and was able to bring peace between the Spirit World and the human realms? Basically she's showing the world, and herself, that she doesn't need to have superpowers or even be the Avatar to help people and bring peace. What if the Avatar cycle actually ended with Korra during Harmonic Convergence, but it wasn't seen as a bad thing? When it comes to the world getting destroyed, you pretty much know that it's going to be saved, so there's no real suspense there, but deciding whether or not the Avatar cycle should continue is a debatable question that could easily have a lot of uncertainty behind it, depending on how you write the history of the Avatar (while most of them do good for the world, some of them probably haven't). Not to mention, how gutting it would be to have Aang as Korra's second spiritual mentor throughout the series (like Roku was to Aang), just to lose him for good during Harmonic Convergence?
9). Tenzin and his family, Lin, and the other characters are alright for the most part. There's some stuff that could be better (flashback to Tenzin as a kid or young adult and his life with Aang and the rest of the old cast, have Zuko, Toph, and Katara reunite, have Zuko reunite with Iroh in the Spirit World, do more with Tahno, maybe visit the Fire Nation to see how they're doing) but they're alright.
TL;DR - The question of whether or not the world needed an Avatar going forward should've been the main conflict of the series. Gives the Red Lotus a singular goal, and is great for Korra's character growth. Even if Nickelodeon pulled the rug out from under the writers Season 1, they could've still ended on a cliffhanger (will Korra get her powers back?) or just kept to the story, like they did for the Last Airbender in episode 13 of Book 1 before the rest of the series got greenlit. Basically, have that question as the central conflict in LOK, tweak a couple things, and everything else falls into place.

But how is Korra supposed to escape from Unalaq? He was going to destroy the whole world, she can't just run. Same goes for Zaheer (who restrained her) and Kuvira who was colonizing the world. In fact it would make it even worse since now Kuvira can colonize in peace.
Korra escaping from her problem wouldn't work since there won't be another day, Unalaq and Vaatu would destroy the world for example.

I rly enjoyed Korra as a character. Spoiled, hotheaded and privileged kid that was put on a throne since birth. Tryna solve things with brute force because that usually worked for her as she was very strong. But when faced with how brutal the outside world was.
The reason why Aang was more "feared" was because he was the only airbender left on the planet, so it was more of a shock factor to see him, than Korra whose existence was known and so the different villains were prepared to eventually deal with her.
I'm fully aware she doesn't beat Aang if they were the same age but that doesn't make her a bad character.

Aangs story was about a non-connected world that needed an avatar and got an avatar that was amazingly talented but DID NOT want to be the avatar.
Korra’s story was about a world that was much more organized and unified, that in a lot of ways didn’t need an avatar, and got someone who DEEPLY wanted to be the avatar, and had to learn her role was not what was promised.
They were very different stories and their struggles are different. Is stepping into your ‘glorious destiny’ an easier path than realizing your destiny is kinda a lie? I think that’s a valid question

As someone who loves Korra but also respects and acknowledges the legacy Aang created; what makes Aang the better Avatar, is that he ended The Hundred Year War after he missed the opportunity 100 years prior. He finished what he was meant to do but he also lived two different lives. He used what he knew in his past to right the present.
Korra didn’t get that opportunity. She didn’t just lose Raava, Unalaq manipulated and betrayed her to get her in the Spirit Realm and away from the people that could’ve helped. He also used the power of Harmonic Convergence to rip Raava out of Korra, and then he beat her to death, severing Korra’s connection to her past lives and the knowledge they had yet to give her. She didn’t get the level of spiritual knowledge that Aang had because it was ripped from her. It’s a different argument when from Day 1 of your existence a whole ass cult wanted to murder you and that’s what led to everything that happened.
The point of Legend of Korra was to show what happens when you take your power for granted. Korra lost what she did because she didn’t take her role seriously. It’s not like she took it as a joke but she got cocky and was put in her place from the very beginning. Her time was a completely different experience than what Aang had lived through and rebuilt.

You are trying to say "Korra didn't go through as much shit as Aang", but then go on to explain how she lost the entire lineage of Avatar spirits, effectively leaving her on an island with no support. She gets heavily traumatized in every season. You also (incorrectly) say she has poison in her body the entire series, when she only had the remaining poison that Su Lin failed to extract in her for the first half of season 4. In the same breath you say Korra is an objectively bad show....talking about the poison left in her body? Bro that entire poison extraction arc with Toph was symbolism; It was Korra releasing trauma and her PTSD, AND TOPH DID NOTHING TO REMOVE IT, THERE IS LITERALLY A WHOLE SCENE DEDICATED TO TOPH SAYING THAT SHE WILL NOT REMOVE THE POISON AND THAT KORRA NEEDS TO DO IT HERSELF. I literally just think you are absorbing the opinions of content creators that also didn't watch or analyze the show, because you are just blatantly wrong on how you are remembering shit.
After Korra removed the poison, she is back in shape, and is able to win against Kuvira.
You seem to not like the entire show because Korra was not as powerful as other characters, but imo that makes her villains more compelling. There is stuff to criticize about the show, but your opening "argument" is horrendous.

7:01 - 7:10 That was a straight up LIE!! There are 2 (really 3) Avatars that came before Aang that was throwing hands with Spirits and doing damage on their own.
    1) Wan the 1st Avatar beat Vaatu AT HIS STRONGEST bcus he had *YEAR'S* of causing chaos around the world collecting strength while Wan was mastering the elements and Raava severely weakened. As we know he won.
    2) Yang Chen the Air Avatar before Aang. Her first mission as the Avatar was fighting a powerful Spirit General Old Iron for attacking people and she was going Blow for Blow on her own NO Help. Again her 1ST Mission as Avatar and it was a draw. Aang also fought him and won but with help (both of these events were in the Avatar comics).
    3) The Main Man himself Kuruk the water Avatar before Korra. Kuruk's real story is revealed in the Kyoshi Novels and we learn he wasn't lazy at all but one of the best Avatars to date. His story is long but to make it short Kuruk was actually out here Hunting and KILLING Spirits Permanently...but for good reason. He fought a Spirit named Father Glow Worm that had powers to rip open portals to the spirit world On Command letting spirits come through attacking and killing people bcus they were angry at Yang Chen for only siding with the humans. Father Glow Worm arguably is the 2nd strongest Spirit under Vaatu (at his strongest). Kuruk fought Father Glow Worm and almsot killed him but permanently weakened him so that he could never rip open portals for spirits to pass through and harm people again. There fight was so chaotic that it left a permanent pit in the earth that was still there in Aang's and Korra's time. If I'm remembering it right the width was the size of a Mountain amd almost as deep. He was so feared by the Spirits they literally called him their version of the Boogieman. He's also the reason by Koh the Face Stealer was hiding in th that tree when Aang first met him. Remember that woman's face Koh stole and showed Aang, that was the face of Kuruk's wife and when that happened Kuruk hunted Koh down. That's who Koh was talking about when he said one of Aang's past lives tried to slay him, he was talking about Kuruk. While Kuruk is currently in the spirit world he's STILL Hunting Koh to kill him for what he did. Kuruk is what Korra was trying to be and aspires to be in her story but 100x better. Kuruk's story is legitimately 100x more tragic than what Korra or any other Avatar we know of in detail went through to date.

If ozai fought unolocke he would’ve never gotten the chance to fuse with vatu
The red lotus as a group probably could take down ozai, however each member 1v1 is cooked.

You can blood bend from a distance too. And Ozai doesn't know about blood bending so he's going to come in for the kill and it'll be over.
Kuvira wipes the army, her mech could cut in half a whole section of the city and destroy more advanced battle ships like they were nothing and it's impenetrable and unbreakable. You need plasma to cut through it and no one in the show's fire is hot enough (even Azula's isn't hot enough). So she stack up very well to large slow moving targets like airships.
Thats not the point we're not putting Ozai in Korra's position and are having him fight who Korra fought. How would he do against Unalaq, you didn't make a comment?
Korra fought 3 Red lotus so Ozai would have to 1v3 them and he would be folded. Remember, Zuko said ALONE they can take down anyone but 3 of them FOLD Ozai like a lawn chair.

    Imo LOK>ATLA
Korra wasnt a bad character at all. Its funny how AT FIRST alot of the haters called her a MARY SUE and now its because she is weak and lost alot of her fights, which one is it?
If Aang at her age or his 12yo self fough korra's enemies who were ruthless(even more so than Aang's villians) Aang would've got swept and packed out. You got to understand Korra was still a teenager learning the ropes of being an Avatar. Are we just going to forget all the times Aang was clueless, made mistakes, and being too weak(internally) to get things done?
I can go on and on but im not. I respectfully disagree.
Aang couldnt have beaten Kuvira like that without struggling. Aang was still not a master earth bender. Also korra was poisoned physically and mentally after the evenys of Zaheer and she was strugglimg internally and that handicapped her abilities greatly. What happened with Korra losing all the past avatars wasnt her fault. Dark Unulaq pulled a fast one and immediately fought dirty and ripped out the past avatars by ripping out Raava from Korra during mid battle once korra had the upperhand.
Im not going to listen to another sweaty rant of people picking and choosing on what actually happened in the show and over exaggerating the events that took place and nitpick. Ive heard arguments like yours from countless Korra haters. I'm good. If we're going to be honest Aang fucked up just as much as korra if not more because he neglected his responsibilities to be Avatar and saved the world from oppressive tyranny rule from the fire nation. If it wasnt for katara and sokka finding him and convincing that there world was worth fighting for instead of runninv away and being trapped in a block of ice 🧊 deep underwater not only would aang have died in the process but Earth would've been subjugated to the Fire Nation rule. Its many many examples/flaws i can point out about Aang's character throughout the show. I don't care about the books before ppl chime in when Aang became wiser and older im specifically only talking about the show. Korra been through way worse than Aang and still tried to do the right thing. Aang was so much of a coward he pretty much said yall fend for yall selves im scared and its too much of a responsibility for me.

The key difference between Aang and Korra is that Aang thought of himself as "just a kid" while Korra's lame ass gassed herself up despite being soft cause the adults treated her like a rambunctious princess. They just tried to damn hard to make the villains as "big and bad" as possible to justify making a whole season centered around a single person each time. It's the failure of not being given the respect the deserved to just set up a proper 4 season show but instead being told they had 1 season each time. Granted, regardless of what they did I would probably still have been a little dissatisfied with a story where the Avatar literally right after Aang ALSO faced a world changing/ending threat. Like, I'd rather a story about a chill Avatar tbh. Wait a couple cycles for the population to realistically rebuild and people to forget there was an actual 100 yr war for things to go to shit.

Tony be for real, you know Amon would fold Ozai like paper.
    5:34
I would say creating a new portal is the biggest feat we've ever seen. Only powerful spirts like Father Glowworm and Vaatu have been able to do that.
    5:42
Aang was losing to Ozai and got saved by the avatar state but I see what you mean.
    6:56
Korra was very conned to Raava more so than Aang and she still got bodied. She beat Vaatu but not Unalaq+ Vaatu. And she had her past lives meaning even Aang couldn't have beat him either since he was fighting too.
    7:10
Not true. Aang never harmed a spirit but you know who did. Korra with what she learned from Unalaq.
    8:39
Didn't Aang get cooked by Azula though? So how is there an argument to be made that Korra could beat Azula if Azula> Aang > Korra?
Also why do you leave the context of those fights out? She fought Toph with mercury poison in her and PTSD and after not training for months. She fought Kuvira with the same lack of training and PTSD and would have won if the PTSD visions didn't kick in. Why don't you acknowledge that?
8:56 Why give Aang context of being surprise attacked but not Korra of her handicaps?
9:07 Aang has actually NEVER BEATEN AZULA. He always either loses or gets saved.
    9:41
That literally can't be true because everything Kyoshi can do, Aang can do with AS.
    11:09
Why do you just care about who wins what in fights though? Being avatar isn't just about winning fights. Maybe you don't think Korra is a good avatar because you think that being Avatar is about fighting since thats how ATLA solved its main issue. Does being beat up but still coming out on top and stopping 10,000 years of darkness, global anarchy, brought back air benders and spirits make you a bad avatar? What is the avatar about? Think about that Tony and I realize that you would see Korra tenure differently.
Most of your points come down to who wins fights and I think thats a very shallow way of viewing shows. You like Aang and he died does that make him a bad Avatar and character, no. So why does it make Korra a bad Avatar or character? The criticism you give TLOK are present in ATLA like losing fights yet you wont make them against ATLA or even defend ATLA. Why not TLOK? I think there's a hidden reason you don't want to confront about why you don't like TLOK (and no it's not misogyny 😒). Reflect on what that might be.
Even Aang would be SO PROUD OF KORRA. I hope you can take what I said earnestly and reflect on my words.
Korra does not suck. She did what Aang wished he could have done for the world and was a more than worthy successor. Do you really think all the things she achieved above are worth nothing and are from a bad avatar?

I just recently finished Korra because I was low key hating it since I heard such bad things about it but I think it’s a pretty good show. I think people get too caught up in their personal feelings when it comes to comparing the show to the original but my biggest complaint was mostly about the gang not being as cool or close compared to aang’s. They both went through different problems and overcame things in different ways, I really enjoyed a lot of the ideas and concepts in Korra.

@@deolu1133 I'm not wrong under any circumstances. You are right on the fact each succeeding Avatar gets the knowledge, skills and to a degree power (which I can easily explain) but that's STRICTLY in the Avatar State not them Passively and even then there's still no guarantee that you can use all their abilities.
Prime Examples being Kyoshi was the first Avatar to do Glass Bending bcus of how strong her Earth Bending was without the Avatar State. Since her we have not seen another Avatar or regular Bender get anywhere near close to Bending straight up Glass. Another example is the fact AANG had to GIVE Korra her bending back and teach Korra how to use Energy Bending. Not to mention Aang learned how to redirect Lightning...why doesn't Korra also have those skills if simply being the Avatar means you have all the skills and abilities of your predecessors...bcus that's not how it works. These are 3 clear cut examples that just bcus your the Avatar doesn't mean OFF RIP you're overall stronger and better than the previous Avatars let alone that you get 100% all their skills. Even the creators said that if Aang and Korra fought Aang would win 9/10 bcus of how he fights. Completely disproving your argument on the rankings you gave them (especially since you left Korra off the list).
Now when it comes to the Avatars on the scaling I gave them it was off the Feats they performed, if they had Help and who they are as Characters.
1st) Kyoshi for a variety of reasons. No other Avatar has ever had any 1 specific bending mentioned to be as powerful as the rest to the point it created a new form of bending that hasn't been seen since. She's also the only Avatar to have lived a Natural Life Span of 230 making her the Avatar with the longest active Career in the verse. Let's say Avatars natural live up to 60 - 80 years old on average, that's still 150 - 170 years worth of Experience and still being a Threat. That's 10 generations of people not trying to mess with you. Kyoshi was also known for being brutal. If she had to kill you it was what it was and she did not care at all. If you need to be packed up she sent you on a Express Trip 1st class.
2nd) Kuruk though he is the youngest Avatars that died and doesn't have the experience like the others do he still proved to be a problem. Like Kyoshi his strength was also renowned. Kuruk fought the 2nd Strongest Spirit in the verse (under Vaatu during Avatar Wan's time) Father Glow Worm who had the ability to open/rip open portals connecting the physical and spiritual worlds at will no matter where he was. Bcus of him Spirits were attacking and killing people bcus of their anger at Yang Chen for only ever caring about the Humans when she's supposed to be the balance for Both. Kuruk had to literally go out and KILL blood thirsty Spirit's bcus of the chaos they were causing. While doing so his own personal Soul was being corrupted and making him go insane but by bit for every Spirit he Killed. But despite all that he still persevered and managed to beat Father Glow Worm in a Chaotic battle that left permanent marks in the Earth that's still there in Korra's time. All this while the World thought he was lazy and a good for nothing (i didn't go into full detail as his story is very long and tragic). He also was a savage killer and brutal.
3rd) Yang Chen was literally renowned for being the female version of Buddha. Her first mission as the Avatar was fighting a powerful Spirit known as General Old Iron for attacking the humans bcus he believed they got rid of the Spirit that he Loved. Going blow for blow with him ultimately it ended up as a draw as other's informed him that said Spirit was fine and they made a treaty with him. The very Orb of all Elements Aang used on Ozai Yang Chen did in that fight with General Old Iron and she took no known forms of Damage in that fight. She was also known for having lethal Air bending moves that she used to kill enemies with. However she favored Humans moreso than being a balance for both Spirits and Humans causing Kuruk to clean up her mess while choosing to keep her image clean out of kindness.
4th) Aang as we all know is very powerful and the youngest Avatar we know of to Master a full element before even being told was the Avatar. Almost Mastered all the elements by the time he fought Ozai (Toph said herself his Earth Bending still needs work). He has done a great deal but he's very pacifistic and will try to do anything he can to not kill his opponents as he treasures all life ergo why he's a vegetarian. However even in the comics it shows Aang's anger still gets the better of him and needs Katara by his side to calm him down.
5th) Roku isn't by any means weak as even as a Old Man he was mostly winning against a Super Volcano but he still needed help in the end. Roku doesn't have any real feats to go off of to list him appropriately but we do know he wasn't someone to mess with and didn't even need the Avatar State to beat Fire Lord Sozin. He even told Sozin to his face his he so much as gets out of line he would kill him. But however Roku's kindness got the better of him in the end and caused a huge problem for Aang to the point Air Nomads almost went completely extinct as a whole.
6th) Korra...self explanatory as to why she's last. Took 3.5 Books just for her to pull her weight as an Avatar. Constantly getting dog washed, her Team is moreso the Avatar than her, got her parents arrested and almost executed, turned on Tenzin and her Dad at the drop of a dime, her team overall has to make openings for her to win, plot armor like crazy, a literal mary sue but pathetic and almost got killed within the first Book bcus she wanted to prove she wasn't scared of Amon. She causes half the amount of problems that are actually there and to top it off in the first comic all that development she got in the last book basically got retconned bcus it's like she learned nothing after all she's been through.
This is the tier list strongest to weakest of the Main Avatar's. You Fucked Around and Found Out...that you were Absurdly Wrong

Korra had to deal with way crazier shit than Aang, like the first villain was a blood bender and bro could just take mfs bending away. Aang on the other hand while I do admit having to master all four elements within a years time is crazy especially at 12, the craziest shit he was dealing with was a sozin comet boosted Ozai who was at most a super formidable fire bender and a decent lightning bender. As we see in Korra firebenders are all just casually lightning bending, as time progresses so does the natural ability to bend and I feel like Korra is just naturally stronger but less proficient in her mastery of the elements compared to Aang. I also believe that Korra is just more adept in using the avatar state compared to Aang due to her constantly using it in her fights, whereas Aang really only used the avatar state in niche circumstances like the kyoshi thing or when he’s really backed into a corner, which is in part due to him being more able to rely on his bending skills/creativity. Korra is more combat adept and that makes her an aggressive brawler type of fighter but lessens her unpredictability. Personally I feel like Aang vs Korra is going to be close but Aang lacks the natural progression and control over the avatar state to give him that extra edge to win the fight. Idk tho 🤷🏾‍♂️

Ain't no way you said Korra went through crazier shit than Aang. Did you forget my guy survived a massacre, frozed himself to wake into an 100 year war, something he had to stop HIMSELF. While doing so, he was constantly hunted, lost his connection to the spirit world, went on a journey to reconnect to the spirit world, learned how to REMOVE bending in order to stop the most powerful fire bender WHILE he was boosted by the comet WITHOUT killing. "like the first villain was a blood bender and bro could just take mfs bending away" So the old lady who originally showed Katara blood bending wasn't a threat? You really down played his whole experience and Sozen deserves some respect on his name, not even Korra would've been able to deal with that man.

@@samuraiprime5044 I think it's more accurate to say that he survived genocide. That said, Korra went through much of the same. She was hunted by the Equalists, the Earth Kingdom, and the Red Lotus; she also lost her connection to her Avatar Spirit, and also went on a journey to reconnect to that spirit (while battling intense PTSD). I'd also like to point out that, unlike Aang who needed La's help to bend and pilot the water titan, Korra was able to project her spirit with energybending without the Avatar state or the help of a spirit. She-like Aang-also had quite a large impact on their world, opening the portals to the Spirit world resulting in a rebirth of the Air Nation, and also created a brand new portal with her energybending. And naw, Hama didn't have anything on Yakone-the actual problematic bloodbender that Aang fought. Hama could only bloodbend on a full moon. Yakone (Tarrlok, and Amon) could all bloodbend at any time. Yakone and Amon also practiced Psychic bloodbending, and could control multiple bodies without so much as moving.

I feel like it went with the times, as things became more advanced speed and efficiency was prioritized more. This includes bending so in an attempt to make bending more rapid they unintentionally sacrificed it's power. The bending games are a good example people were fighting with rock disks and water pools in Korra. Whereas in Aang's time people were changing the geography of places, causing high tides, turning fricking rain into water prisons, making fires big enough to destroy forests and ish. The scale of battle was just different being a bender ment you were a force of nature if you really perfected your craft. But the masters in Korra were still working on a smaller scale in comparison to masters of the war times. This could also be because fixing infrastructure was also more expensive. Korra is from a weaker generation and her arrogance hindered her because she compared herself to the people around her despite the fact that she knew she could measure herself against past Avatars. She kept getting rocked because she always thought she was the best by default. Valuing her gift more so than the skills needed to grow said gift. She compensated for her lack of skill by using the Avatar state as a power boost rather than the trump card it was. When Aang did it armies would flee but people didn't really care about Korra's one because she used it so frequently. Making it seem much weaker even after she was warned about the risks. She slipped up and lost the whole chain of Avatars because she couldn't take the L for her clear moments of weakness. The Avatar is respected because of who the past Avatars were, Korra thought being the Avatar in itself was reason enough for everyone to respect her. It's that mindset that lead to people losing respect for the Avatar after crossing paths with her. That said she is probably one of the most talented at accessing the Avatar's power. But because of that access she never really learnt how to stand on her own outside of being the Avatar.

Simeon in the comments called her the suburban avatar 😂 she just didn’t care for the peoples voice, that’s why I think the last version should have been Amon and the non-bender army. Because through all the show Amon what’s the most reasonable person with the a group of the most reasonable about situation. It’s like Cora was always only fighting for the upper class which was irritating and I think the writer did a terrible job by trying to sell her to ask as a good advertise and that she successful while the whole writing is just telling us that she is failing long term. If they would have written her intentionally as a bad avatar, how they did with Kuruk, it would been an amazing story, so it was lost potential

I disagree there are many things that show Korras avatar spirit growth. In season 4 when she learned she can’t always be there as an avatar and going thru a whole journey. Also the last episode when she talked to kuvira like a human. The creators purposely made korra talk to kuvira instead to beating her up to show her growth. Also BIG POINT - in season 2 Korra achieved Atman which is confirmed by the creators because that is how they viewed Korras cosmic self. Atman is a Hindu philosophy of basically connecting to your inner most self. “Inner most essence of the individual”. This is also fortified again when Tenzin tells korra to connect to her inner most self, what makes korra…korra.
Korras progress from S1-S2 was her avatar spirit and how she viewed herself. Korra can stand outside being the avatar it was kinda the point of cosmic korra.

First off, comparing Korea with Aang is crazy considering THEYRE THE SAME PERSON. The same person with two different journeys. Korra learns throughout the series that she can’t live up to Aang’s legacy, she can only build her own.
Second, Korra’s villains all challenge her in unique ways that fight against what it means to be an Avatar in a world that DOESNT NEED AN AVATAR. People have technology now and have risen above the need for a constant savior. She isn’t just fighting the next bad guy, she’s fighting against IDEOLOGIES. Her growth is beyond physical strength, it’s about political and spiritual growth.
I could go on, but, (again RESPECTFULLY), if you’re going to judge LOK please make valid points about the story and direction beyond just “wHoS sTrOnGeR?!?” Like cmon

I don’t wanna just sound like a bitter fan, but they are not the same person. I don’t understand why from reincarnation a lot of people mistake it as near immortality. Think back to the Turtle Island from ATLA, the Avatar is essentially a storage unit of a guardian. The only thing that ties the Avatars together is the ability to master all four elements (which is all because of Wan and that jazz) but the Avatars are their own individual with their own wills and beliefs. The avatar state is the amalgamation and the closest thing we get to Avatars “being the same person” but other than that naw dude Aang and Korra couldn’t be more different and just because they hold the same spiritual title doesn’t mean their the same person.

I loved LoK, I don’t think her being a good avatar or not diminishes the show but everyone has opinions

Folks will say you hate women if you criticize Korra while our favorite characters are Azula, Toph, and Kyoshi😂😂😂 Love Season 3 & 1 top to bottom, 2 was a mess, 4 whiffed on its potential

Aang was also holding back against ozai if you watch the fight he’s fighting very defensively vs ozai who was fighting very offensively and before the fight Aang wasn’t even trying to kill ozai he was trying to find every way not to have to fight him
