If I recall, They did not know that Percy was Poseidons son untill he claimed Percy. I assuming that Annabeth had a suspicion after the toilet thing which is why she pushed him into the water
12:05 You're right. Gabe was toned down. Even in the books he was annoying and more abusive. Maybe because this is Disney so they won't show too much of that.
I lowkey hate that because it plays a huge part in why he was in Percy’s and his mom’s life as long as he was 😓 They also toned down Mrs.Dodds Scene … felt kinda lack luster compared to the book or to the movie even but I love how young Percy is and how we actually feel he is an outsider
It’s was changed by Rick, Rick has been hella hella involved in tweaking their original vision when he Co Created it. I love the additions for the most part! Grover’s acting sorta feels weird at times, but I’m looking past it since it’s only it’s like first two episodes at least!
@@superjoseivanable I agree with Gabe's character. I feel like they won't murder him now since they should show that it was justified first. 🥲 But, I wanted that scene to happen so bad. I'm okay with the Mrs. Dodds scene, I liked the way they made it seem like just a dream. The gaslighting worked well and I can feel percy's confusion and questioning of reality. I think they also saved the first battle for the minotaur.
Clarisse’s hating Percy has nothing to do with his Father. In the episode Luke talks about how Glory is everything and that’s why Clarisse hates him we also have Percy say that he’s going to make his father see him. This basically tells us that the Gods are watching them so that probably angers Clarisse because Percy who knows nothing and isn’t even claimed shows up and is said to defeat a monster with his bare hands and it makes her upset, he’s stealing all the glory.
Thanks for breaking it down for me like that. That does makes sense! I understood the glory part but didn’t connect it to her in that way I guess. Appreciate it!
You also have to remember that Clarisse has to put on the tough act to stand out more to her father Aries, who is very open with that he prefers his sons over his daughter.
Yeah, only in the movie is Poseidon from the beginning revealed to be Percy’s father. This is probably because in the lightning thief’s adaptation,I’m sure Annabeth and Clarisse were combined;as she fights Percy and I’m sure hates him because their parents aren’t that fond of eachother.I heard or read that in the book;the others guessed that Percy parent was one of the big 3 (Zeus,Poseidon and Hades).
@darknorman2914 The first movie did combine Annabeth and Clarisse into one person. That's why her character felt so off. They damage controlled that in the second movie but then majorly changed Clarisse's character. Now she flirted with percy more than hated him and thought it was cool when the camp got attacked. Not like book Clarisse at all. Also, Athena and Poseidon hating each other was never touched on in either of the movies.
the movie got it right with ms. dodds cuz they did re-enter the museum. i think they changed it here because they wanna show that the mist was being manipulated heavier so that even mr. brunner and grover didn’t realize that dodds was a fury. i was hoping for something intense too, but it doesn’t really detract much from the story so i don’t mind as much. plus dodds is supposed to come back later on in the books so they might’ve saved the battle for that. i’m currently rereading through the lightning thief now and i didn’t realize how sad percy was in the books. imagine being abandoned by your father before he was even born. getting kicked out of school for the sixth time after trying his best to stay in. and then losing your mom too. and he was just 12 too. like…percy was going through it, but he overcame everything because of how much he loved his mom. which is why i’m really happy that the show really shows you how much percy and sally care for each other so much.
When I watched it I really liked how they made Smelly Gabe more of a bum instead of an abuser. I know it’s because ✨Disney✨ but I liked it because it didn’t give me as much of anxiety. Sally Jackson is the love of my life and I hated Gabe so much in the books.
I agree! The show is already tackling complex themes like bullying and abandonment. I also think it would have been much harder to watch because the show casting isn't aged up like the movies.
I'm a 42+ white male, i could care less who they cast as Annabelle, race doesn't mean shit to me. She plays the character well that's all I care about.
It's interesting how people like you focus so much on how people were only upset about Annabeth's appearance before the show aired. Basically making it seem that people who didn't like it in the beginning, whether it was your intention or not, are probably racist in some ways. The fact you had to point out that you are a white man is weird and again brings focus to race.To me, race swapping an already existing character of a different appearance seems lazy to me if it's ONLY for the sake of inclusion. The thing is that it was NOT just Annabeth! It was Grover and even Percy being BLONDE that people talked about before. Annabeth is just one of the examples. It's not specifically about race. It's fans not liking people changing their beloved characters that already exist in a different form.People in general only got over their appearance because of their ACTING true in character (except for Grover-that's a whole other thing though).
@@TheOMGRamen Where was the outrage over Tom Hardy portraying Bane then? Or people complaining about Ras Al Ghul. Regardless, you just copied and pasted your complaints from a form. Pathetic at best.
You think you are going to get applause for saying this? It’s so embarrassing that White people feel like they have to bend backwards to please different races “look at me!! I’m an intellectual person! I only care about the acting🤌” her acting wasn’t even good.
the episodes come out every wednesday 9pm EST. the first week was the only time they released two at once. also the reason why clarisse screamed like that when her spear broke is because it was the first and only gift her father Ares ever gave her (basically ignored her after), so it was her most treasured possession
Went into the first episodes with no real expectations and walked away so pleasantly surprised! They captured the feeling of the characters and book so well so far
To provide context for Percy's relationship with his dad, in the books Poseidon does care but a Gods definition of parental care is a lot different from our own. Percy comes to understand that over the course of several series, but the complexity of that relationship is something i really love about the series! Thats why i dont love the movies take on it because ultimately Poseidon is a God that is too busy and doesnt really care to be there the way Percy thinks a parent should and thats why Luke and many other demigods turn against them and even though Percy disagrees with bringing Kronos back, he understands why they feel abandoned by the gods because they are all very shitty parents

They did an astonishing job with the emotions in this show, they just existed in the movie, but here we really connect to him, maybe even more than in the books, and we get to see so much of Sally as well.
really liked this video! please keep doing it for the rest of the series. I cant find that many interesting creators that are posting videos like this about the series. Looking forward to more!
I heard people talking bad about this show, and I admit there are some things I would change about it, but watching the movies made me remember how much of an improvement the show is, and coming here and revisiting the first couple of episodes reminds me how much amazing things they put in the show, it is not perfect, but so much is beautiful about it.
Girllll I watch you for your kpop reacts and I just now discovered this channel lol! So excited to see your reactions to my favorite childhood book series🥳
I just want to say (not targeted to the creator of this video or anyone in particular) but we need to spread good word and good review for this show so that it at least gets greenlit for a season 2 please. Yes there are minor changes from the books and yes we all need to get our opinions out there but if there is no s2 they will never get a chance to improve from s1. Pleeeeeeaaaassseee
I agree but honestly I’m just someone that wanted to share my experience. I did spread good word for this and hopes it gets picked up for another season but I’m not a channel that will dissect it in a technical aspect. There’s other channels for that. movieflame is a good one by the way! Love them! I honestly don’t think a reaction is going to do that. People just have to want to watch it you know?
I love your enthusiam. This is how I felt as well and btw, Disney shows like this usually do two episodes to start out with and then go to one episode weekly on Wednesdays. Just to let you know. That's how many I've followed have done on this streaming service.
I think the fade to blacks are because it’s airing on Hulu too (and next year D+ & Hulu are becoming one) and Hulu has a tier with ads. Also they can air it on the ABC networks with natural breaks.
I've been looking for this channel since you first mentioned it on your main! So happy the YT algorithm finally recommended it and super excited to view this series reactions. So much to catch up on now! 💛
Camp Half-blood looks like Camp Half-blood. Even though the cabins are shaped differently, and there are slight discrepancies, it feels like home, like Percy Jackson.
I think the “Mist” most shows and movies call it a shimmer I think kind of like a veil to disguise things. Also I just started the show and I loved it right away. Also the effects/make up for the furry is badass 😌
10:57 i only noticed this now. But it seems like Gabe is more violent (in words) when he's alone with Sally. Bc in this part he's yelling at her and then when percy arrives he's only a useless loser.
Hey so I was introduced to Percy Jackson through the movies which inspired my to attempt to read the books but I never could get past 6 or 7 chapters however it never stopped my interest in Greek mythology. Prior to covid I didn't know fans of the book series had grievances with the movies but I lovin the show right now and looking forward to next episode
Every "oh the movies did it this way" was painful. Poisedon appearing randomly, talking to percy in his head and the meeting with zeus never happend in the books. That was made for the movie only.your best bet is to forget everything you saw in those movies like they dont exist
I understand. It was just my way of grasping everything I guess cause I didn’t remember the book material. I’ll move forward forgetting everything and just enjoying as if I haven’t read the book or watched the movies. I think I’ll have more fun that way (even tho I was excited in this.) thank you.
Question because I am drawing a blank, and can't find it on the episode cast lineup. Who is the tree that Grover is talking to before he meets with the council of Cloven Elders? Is that suppose to be Juniper??
Gabe was a lil toned down (i actually kind of liked him,his chemistry with Virgina & Walker seemed great) Ig cuz Disney?? But i hope they keep that “TV news” scene w/ him I’m absolutely in love with Dior & Charles (as Clarrise & Luke respectively) Walker is just perfect

i’ve been following ur kpop vids for so long but i had no idea abt this channel or the fact you’d react to the show OMGG IM SO HAPPYY 😭💗💗
Yess! These episode were like diving back into the books for the first time! It was amazing to share it with my younger brother who hasn't read the books... he's interested in reading them now which is great but it was exciting to experience this world with him.
Your energy is infections and endearing, can't wait to follow the series with you
So excited you're reacting to PJO!!! This video is so good!😂👏🏼 I already follow your kpop channel so I was pleasantly surprised to discover your tv channel with this :) looking forward to more pjo!
They did an astonishing job with the emotions in this show, they just existed in the movie, but here we really connect to him, maybe even more than in the books, and we get to see so much of Sally as well.
If you want to relive the books and get a refresh I recommend The Newest Olympian podcast. 10/10
I think he got invited to the premiere because his podcast got so popular. 🤣
@@carlycchapman he did. He’s been releasing interview snippets with the show runners as well
Omggg I’m excited for this!!!! From Kpop to Percy. Let’s go!!!!!!
omggg i didn´t know you were reacting to these so so excited to watch with you!!
Queen of Kpop and YA TV reactions???? YESSSSS
really liked this video! please keep doing it for the rest of the series. I cant find that many interesting creators that are posting videos like this about the series. Looking forward to more!
Caitlin please do it till the end. My jaw dropped finding you reacted to this. Percy is my top one fav novels 🥹 so im excited too! Thanks!
I’m already making people mad so Idk…but I am excited for more from the show!
Girlll!!! I was waiting for you to react to something I watch
Your excitement makes it fun. THANKSSSS
THE WAY I DIDNT EVEN KNOW YOU DID TV REACTIONS AND YOURE DOING PJO OMG
LOL I’ve been trying to tell y’all!
I heard people talking bad about this show, and I admit there are some things I would change about it, but watching the movies made me remember how much of an improvement the show is, and coming here and revisiting the first couple of episodes reminds me how much amazing things they put in the show, it is not perfect, but so much is beautiful about it.
Thanks so much for reacting, and love your set with the tiny tree! Happy holidays!
Okay I am proud to be Greek at times like this..😂😭 I love this series..they did a great job🎉🤍
Girllll I watch you for your kpop reacts and I just now discovered this channel lol! So excited to see your reactions to my favorite childhood book series🥳
caitlyn + pjo ,, what?!?!? omg una mezcla que jamás me imaginé ver
Correction: Tuesdays at 9 pm EST
I think the fade to blacks are because it’s airing on Hulu too (and next year D+ & Hulu are becoming one) and Hulu has a tier with ads. Also they can air it on the ABC networks with natural breaks.
I've been looking for this channel since you first mentioned it on your main! So happy the YT algorithm finally recommended it and super excited to view this series reactions. So much to catch up on now! 💛
Yay! Have fun! 💕 hope you enjoy!
Camp Half-blood looks like Camp Half-blood. Even though the cabins are shaped differently, and there are slight discrepancies, it feels like home, like Percy Jackson.
Caitlin you’re my favorite reactor in all senses, I love your EXO reactions and I did not know that you will react to PERCY! ❤
I think the “Mist” most shows and movies call it a shimmer I think kind of like a veil to disguise things. Also I just started the show and I loved it right away. Also the effects/make up for the furry is badass 😌
Omg, Caitlin!! I didnt know you have this channel. I love PJO!! Thanks for this! 🫶🏻
10:57 i only noticed this now. But it seems like Gabe is more violent (in words) when he's alone with Sally. Bc in this part he's yelling at her and then when percy arrives he's only a useless loser.
Yay i loved this reaction thanks so much
Yessss! I clicked so fast!!! Thanks Caitlin
my fave kpop reactor reacting to percy jackson?!?! A win for me 😭
OMG A PERCY JACKSON REACTION OMG OMG
Loved your reaction!
I… I’ve been casually watching you react to Kpop for years now and I just found this?!?
28:26 book readers: "girl"
percy didn't fight the minotaur without powers, not exactly. his skills/powers are boosted in water, so the rain was a big help
one of my fav youtubers is also a percy fan? taste
The dreams aren’t actually Hades, they’re Kronos
OH FUCK you right! Thank you! 😅 damnn
Percy Jackson on top>>>
Woah I know you from bubbles but this popped up on my recommended BC I love pjo
I was like 'is that the ayo bubbles girl??'
Release are 9pm eastern on Tuesdays
I read that the cuts to black in the show coincide with chapters ending/starting in the books!
Girl, I didn't know you have this second channel, and you're reacting to pj??? I'm sat!
The ending credits foreshadow the rest of the series
No in the book Mrs dodds asked him to talked in private.but I like this too because they are introducing the mist already
Question because I am drawing a blank, and can't find it on the episode cast lineup. Who is the tree that Grover is talking to before he meets with the council of Cloven Elders? Is that suppose to be Juniper??
Omg your laugh is so contagious 😂😂
WAIT OMG IS THAT CIX I HEARD IN THE INTRO!!!!!! MA BOISSS
edit: typo
👀👀👀
Gabe was a lil toned down (i actually kind of liked him,his chemistry with Virgina & Walker seemed great)
Ig cuz Disney?? But i hope they keep that “TV news” scene w/ him
I’m absolutely in love with Dior & Charles (as Clarrise & Luke respectively)
Walker is just perfect
The cast is amazing! Also age appropriate for once
“shouldn’t he try something with water?” no one including him, knows who his father is.
I do like how Annabeth, of course doesn't know, but clearly suspects it and acts on that suspicion
@@omalleycaboose5937 i liked that too!
Yeah like i said…not going off the books cause I don’t remember so maybe that was clear and I just didn’t get that 😅
@@CaitybTV it was very clear. and how would they know who his dad is if he wasn’t claimed? 😭
@@CaitybTV in the movies Chiron just tells him who his dad is by bringing Percy to his cabin because the books aren’t accurate at all. and it doesn’t make sense either why would he know for sure who percy’s dad is? lol
11:01 going to rewatch the movies and I’ll be back, because I’m so lost here 😂😂😂 been a long while since I’ve seen the movies
If this series goes well I might have to rethink my feelings on them redoing the Harry Potter series as a show. First couple of episodes and I'm all in
That's what I'm saying!!! It's actually really fucking great loving the show loving the casting loving everything about it!! Ong!!!!
The fades to black are edited in because there’s an ad supported version of Disney+
The season I am most excited for right now is Titan's Curse.
My fav reaction so far ur so funny and girl dw about mistakes this show isn’t only for mega fans 😭
31:17 Hades actually didn’t steal the bolt, im not gonna spoil who did but Hades thinks Percy stole Hades magical item (the dark helm) and took his mother to get it back 😽
I think I do remember who stole it! I know it’s not hades for sure!
@@CaitybTV yup, really love how they subverted the “hades is the bad guy” cliche when he’s actually one of the more chill gods. Loved the video btw! The nerd in me had to correct you lol 😭
I’m assuming the fades to black were for commercials (yeah Disney has em now for some tiers) or to symbolize “chapters” ending?
A WIN AFTER WIN AFTER WIN FOR MEEEEE ILYSMMMM
