Awesome, dibs on a one way trip with my BASE rig :) Super impressive to sew your own balloon. I have a few friends that have made their own so I have at least some idea of how much work it is.
Those printed accessories are awesome. I've been using a cheap tabletop sewing machine for some bag projects so finding accessories has been easy, but I imagine 3d printed parts might be the best option for some of the older industrial machines.
@@HoffmanTactical have you seen the new rules about 3d printed stuff? PSR did an update video lately. Looking forward to seeing the tactical hot air balloon once it's done.
I'll never forget one of our closest Family Friends weddings was in hot air balloons there was 75 of them and it was incredible! But just like the rest of your work very well done and meticulous and completely thought out, love it!

@@abutton2777 so... is there like emergency supplies or a parachute or stuff? Its one thing to trust an outside company's experience and competencies to make a balloon that won't fail. now that I think about it, we did something similar in school once with paper lanterns. but supporting my own body weight with a balloon that I MADE... still feels unsettling (for me at least). The best rope you can get is called "Dyneema". It's synthetic and even better than the kevlar.. but it's usually not cheap. Typically 6x stronger than regular polyester.
The issue is heat resistance. That is where polyethylene falls short of aramid. The very high working temp of Kevlar is the main attraction for it's use in ballooning.
Good man ... also wanted you to know that I finally got made whole from my bank on that super safety twin Bros rip off 😂 may he rest in peace🎉🎉 Only took 4 months
I was getting worried that you were getting tangled up with the Yahoos that made your super safeties available for sale. Glad that does not appear to be the reason for your absence.
I know what I'd use your fabric scraps for: 3d print the frames for powered hang glider drones: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powered_hang_glider They don't have to be big and would have fantastic glide ratios at slow speeds.
I’m an airline pilot and fly the 737…slight fear of heights, more the kind of fear you get standing in a ledge…but yeaaaa, I’ll never step foot in a hot air balloon 👎 🙂↔️

Nice project, the ATF will appreciate you being into this. When you're back to HT stuff I have a thought for you. I inherited an Arisaka Type 99 and its on a sporter stock. My brother, the previous holder of this family heirloom wanted to restore it to it's Imperial Army configuration but the stock is hard to find or pricey. Can it be 3D printed?

Hey I just wanted to point this out as an idea for your clamping system for the orca. Have you looked into the ClampTite Tool? It makes your own clamps out of wire, and they're fairly strong. It also gives the clamping portion a much lower profile.
Hoffman, do you think a weapon barrel made from titanium on a 3D printer will withstand the load of a shot? Jet engines are made with 3D printers like this, which means it should work with weapons.
