    Have you been driving yourself mad trying to figure out why your instrument panel is not working with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, here is the answer.
    Step 1 Software Release Dec 2020 - allows panel to communicate with MFS2020

    Step 2 Driver Software 2017

    Update: I know I said 2.0 is all you need, if you only have 3.0 that should also work because they're backwards compatible.
    AMD Ryzen 9 Chips have been having issues with USB connectivity. Specifically with MSI 550 boards. Your devices sometimes drops connections and reconnects even with a powered hub. That is AMD and MSI issue, not the drivers or USB devices themselves. PCMag has reported AMD is well aware of the issue and plan to release an update in April 2021, just an FYI.

    I've watched about a dozen videos on the instrument panel guages, this is the ONLY one that I've found that mentiones the need to download the actual driver as a separate thing. I don't think the order of install (plugin or driver) is critical because you can just restart the plugin, but I'm shocked that the plugin doesn't come with the driver. thanks.

    I don't know why there are ANY clicks on 'thumbs down', as reading through all the comments you are the most helpful I've seen on y'tube.
    I too really appreciate the information you've provided.
    I figured when purchasing the Logitech Flight package that all would be plug and play, but also finding out there were no setup instructions in any of the boxes was truly disappointing, especially considering the cost of this stuff.

      @@PortugueseFlyingStew already did :) Yeah this equipment is quite expensive so it needs to work as intended, but for now with this method i think it works just like they should. But sadly some people dont investigate enough and then people will just return the unit. I got quite impressed when i tested this quality unit out, it can even do stuff on the buttons, parking brake for example etc etc which is amazing, you can also edit the images to be better or the idle screen to not show advertizing about products, you can just simply change them.
      But im wondering if its any HD quality image gauges out there to be downloaded.

    If like me you bought the radio and/or switch panel and/or multi panel first and installed them. Then I bought the FIP and it didn't work! I found I had to go back to square one and DELETE the devices in device manager and UNINSTALL the plugin before going through the sequence shown in this excellent video. Then everything worked. If you buy the FIP first then you should have no trouble installing the other panels afterwards and you would wonder why other people were having problems.

    Thank god I found this... after 3 weeks trying to sort this with 11days waiting for support from Logitech (what a joke they are) tonight I am looking forward to trying your solution. To be honest its disgraceful that they are selling this kit with no clear instructions on installation and what files need to be downloaded, the driver download page on the website is a total mess with absolutely no clear pointers on what is needed. Let alone a link to the driver files. Had it not been the fact that I had spent in excess of £1000 on these doorstops I would have thrown them out, even the flight multi panel autopilot has driver and installation issues which again was solved by other users with no help from Logitech. Anyway thanks for this fingers crossed

    H i there and a happy new year. Hope I can still say that... I ran into a problem after experiencing exactly the issues you so wonderfully described. My trouble did not end though: Upon installing the second driver froom the softpedia, the PC shows a kind of white "install screen" with a prompt INSTALLING STUFF and does not end anymore. In the end I just closed the window after 30 minutes showing this message. The LCD-panel remains black unfortunatly.... You can always uninstall your devices in Device manager and start over. Look under Human Interface Devices, see if your Flight panels are picked up there and uninstall them to start fresh. If not there check other directories in device manager to see if you find them. In the video it shows you how to identify them if they're not clearly labeled as such. There could be a lot of different things. 1. Not enough power supplied if you have more than one device plugged into a USB Hub. You can figure that out by just working with one device at a time. As soon as you reach your maximum devices per hub, they will not power on when you have too many. You have to split the devices amongst other USB hubs if there isnt enough juice. The remaining black part sounds like something I ran into. Try that and see if I'm right. Its been awhile since I've been in front of my sim, because I'm away flying professionally but I'm almost certain its a power issue. Don't hold me to it. But go one by one to check.

    • @PortugueseFlyingStew
      @PortugueseFlyingStew  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically, 6 instruments shouldnt be a problem on a single hub. Check to make sure your hub has power. If it does not have power. Unplug one device at a time and see how many your hub can support before they shut down on you. It might be a power issue. These devices do draw power from the hub. See if that helps You might need to buuy more than one hub to run all 6. But confiirm like in my video, the amps and volts the hub can support.

      @@eddielee5765 yea, like I mentioned, it might be an issue with the HUB and limitation of how many they can support at the same time. Remember regular 2.0 USB and not a 3.0 USB to be used. You can identify if its 3.0 by the color, it would be blue when you're looking at the slot. The flight instrument panel does draw a tiny bit of power so if you end up drawing too much from the hub, it will most likely turn off some of the devices. My problem is have 6 instruments but generally only one or two come on when all are plugged in. I then unplug and plug back in one at a time for the remainder to get the rest to come on. Don't know if anything in the steps here would help so that all 6 will come on when PC is booted up. Have tried both 2.0 and3.0 powered Hubs that only have the 6 instruments plugged in. I get the same result if each instrument is plugged into a PC USB port. If only have 3 instruments plugged in, 3 will come on; but if 4 still only 3. If all 6 then generally only 1 or 2 come on. During boot up, all 6 will try" to come on. May light up, then blink out or go to a grey screen, then go out.
    Problem appears that all 6 cannot come on during boot up or even if Hub plugged in after boot up; seems to require a sequential process of plugging in when more than 3. For a plug in, am using a Logitech 2017 plug in specific for instruments.

      As far as the hub, did you try 3.0 port first and then 2.0? I’ve seen different hubs support between 6 and max 8 to 10. I wouldn’t push it more than 8. I haven’t found a hub that supports these panels more than 8 at a time without running into an issue. If your hub is below a certain amps or not powered, each device will eventually pull a little more power from the hub until eventually you’ll run out of power to keep all 6 running at the same time. I had a 5 amp hub From Amazon, and I pushed it to 10 devices one time. It was working but then I have the issue I mentioned before about the devices disconnecting. I’ve also read with the right hub you should be able to connect a large number of devices to an individual port at a single time.

    • @PortugueseFlyingStew
      @PortugueseFlyingStew  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would also make sure your drivers for the hub or the usb ports is also up to date. If you give me the type of motherboard I’ll check to see if there are any drivers available for it. There are so many factors, but we can look at it together. Sometimes it’s something else if you’re not getting them all on at the same time. What is your operating system? Specs?

      I forgot to clarify, when I said, have you tried 3.0 and 2.0, I meant to say on the board directly. Know you said you tried on the hub 3.0 and 2.0 You have to make sure the hub goes directly into the port on the board that’s supports it. You can always go 3.0 to 2.0 but should avoid going 2.0 to 3.0. 3.0 is backwards compatible but not the other way around. Pull up device manager, see if you get any little yellow warning ⚠️ signs as well.

      I’ve seen panels being set to the same Channel by accident or default. I would recommend looking into Spadnext or FSUIPC7.

      @@PortugueseFlyingStew I have a Spad next license, however, using this software with MSFS frames drop critically ( I do not why) So, I tried to use just Logitech pluggin, and I get a very decent experience. But, I need to change frequencies Flying IFR. It is no possible to use fsuipc7 without spad. It is crazy to watch how changes the wrong display !!!

    Hi wanted to ask a little help if possible. I followed everything perfectly of what i believe. Now, when i try to open the Logitech software, it states that " There is arleady an instance of this plugin running" and wont let me open this. Any ideas?

      The panels i have are arleady showing ads and different instruments while opening fsx but are just frozen

    • @PortugueseFlyingStew
      @PortugueseFlyingStew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So you’re half way there. Fire up the simulator, once it says there is already an instance of this plugin you don’t have to click it again. Just load the flight in the simulator and you’ll see then come online. They will only display the instruments once the simulator is running.

    Thanks for your video. Hmmm, once i download the files on Sofpedia (from the mirror site, as the US one leads to Forbidden 403), i click on install, and a white screen "Installing stuff" appears and never leaves. Am I doing something wrong? And we don't see the 2 folders appear. Thanks

      I’m sorry you’re running into an issue with the site. I just tested the site and it’s working fine for me. Please check the type of browser you’re using. Also, are you in another country? Do you have a VPN? Just some things that might give you a forbid error.

      @@PortugueseFlyingStew thanks so much for your prompt response... I'm from Canada, maybe that's why? but I don't understand why the mirror link would not work... and no vpn indeed (good question though), I used chrome first, then Edge, same result, with the "Installing stuff" message once the files are downloaded... For now, I'll write to MS to put some pressure... maybe the next patch is coming... thanks for your help! and if you have other ideas, please go ahead :)

      ok i set the VPN in the states, I don't have the forbidden message anymore BUT, once I open the install files (Flight_Instrument_Panel_x64_Drivers), i click "I accept", Next, then it tries to install something, it tells me to unplug, I click on Next and then i get the same message as with the other link: "Installing stuff", with no progress bar or anything... is this a normal behavior? is it suppose to be so long? thanks :)

    Just bought this product and let me say the Logitech customer experience and product support is complete garbage. Literally, the worst I've experienced in my life. I've been building home cockpits for 20 years and I work in tech. The fact that I had to search a TH-cam video for this information is complete BS. Will a competent management team PLEASE buy these clowns out?
