Helium's drop was really appreciated cause it was a counter/flip of King Inertia's previous round beat. Also keeping that inward bass clean and powerful takes a lot of effort and is hard to maintain in quality. Also that drop sounded really insane live on those speakers which helps.

What King Inertia and Helium was doing is called Inward Bass. You inhale while doing that. And the simple pattern that Helium did was a great counter attack to what Inertia did. He showed that his inward bass is as low and good as Inertia's bass.
you should check out some tutorials on beaboxing some time :) to see how it is done.

15:08 people went crazy bc that was one of inertia’s signature beat, also using the same bass called “inward bass”. the craziest thing was how helium was able to “match” the depth of inertia’s inward bass. inertia is called the king of inward bass btw
edit: ppl also went crazy bc inertia’s previous round was using inward bass, and helium started his round “countering” inertia with his own beat kinda

its also funny that he is one of the first to notice that the sound quality from gbb 2022 isn't top notch compared to 2019. this was a problem for swissbeatbox and many artists noticed it as well

Helium's drop is a simple pattern but its done by using inward bass(breathing inward will vibrate some point of the throat where its connected to the lungs and makes a deep vibration in your chest.) and he was the first person that could really get compared to inertias inward bass and everyone went crazy cause helium was the first person to successfully counter inertia.

Although King Inertia drops can be simple, they are extremely respected as these basses are highly advanced and unique in the beatboxing world. In many eyes, he is often considered one of the kings of this type of bass, AKA inward bass which as you can guess, its one thats produced by breathing inwardly.

The Intro you've heard at the beginning is actually beatboxing too! To get into these competitions you have to submit a "wildcard" and if you get in you're essentially in the competition. The beginning is just a mixed and mastered intro containing snippets of beatboxing from the winning wildcards - mixed by Sinjo (which is the audio engineer for these events)

You should check out the loopstation battles, definitely an amplified experience especially for a music producer as yourself. They basically just beatbox into the mic, layer noises, and compose a song on the spot using producing equipment.
Also in the loopstation category the beatboxers use their beatbox and a few eq and effects to create the music they make.

Helium Vs King Inertia is probably one of, if not the most epic battle we had so far. Helium did an insane counter to Inertia using his own bass and he held that bass note down. Thats why the crowd was super hyped.
