    Brian Shaw looks a lot better with his new beard.
    Before he looked like a nice guy 15 sizes too big.
    Now if you took his daughter out on a date and he asks you to bring her home by 9, you bring her home by 7.

    • @Jayslollipop
      @Jayslollipop 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, they did. I think the competition is rigged, so that Shaw gets a better chance at winning. They removed the Dumb Bell event and made a new event suited for Brian which is the Kettle Bell toss.

    • @egosum0mega
      @egosum0mega 7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Jayslollipop historically kettlebell toss has been hotly contested between Hafthor and Brian, whereas Brian has always done very well in the Cyr Dumbell press. He won it last year pretty easily, so your comment doesn't make much sense.

    Brian Shaw is truly one of the absolutely strongest humans to ever walk this earth. Walking with 1560lb on his back & finishing the run oner 6 seconds faster then his closet competitor.

  • @mags7144
    @mags7144 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Had high hopes for Hafthor this year with Big Z out and Brian getting up there in age but Brian just showed how much more dominant he is than everyone else and how every year he gets that much stronger.

    • @longcutarizona9816
      @longcutarizona9816 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Magnus McCaleb Hafthor's era is coming. Shaw has kind of teased here and there during interviews that he might only do another couple of years and then he wanted to go for new experiences. He has gone out of his way to get his name and presence more known in the powerlifting circles and the USAPL/IPF records are constantly going up, so I think Shaw see's some hardcore competition for him in the powerlifting world and wants a piece of that challenge. Being the big fish in a small pond, which he has been for some time and now big Z is gone, he doesn't have any real challenge in Strongman. So if Shaw leaves to go the powerlift path next year or the year after, Hafthor and Eddie will pretty much be the next "Shaw vs. Big Z" for probably a 5-7 year run.

    • @Mattyboyzie
      @Mattyboyzie 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope shaw doesn't retire soon, he improves so much every year and he's not even at his peak yet it seems, which is a scary thought.

    • @mags7144
      @mags7144 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      LongCut Arizona Brian as a powerlifter would be insane I would pay to watch that.

    • @mags7144
      @mags7144 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matty Boyzie Agreed it's always a thrill seeing his improvement every year and the crazy amounts of weight that guy is able to move. He did say on his instagram post that he had suffered some small injuries during the competition so hopefully that doesn't lead to anything like what Zydrunas had happen to him.

    • @TheKikkomaster
      @TheKikkomaster 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Joseph Steers The super yoke is famous for causing injuries, thats why. There are plenty of "tests" of strenght, other than squeezing your frame under a giant weight....hope no more injuries on other events.

    • @phamchithien
      @phamchithien 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      there are other events for that, the arnold is for the heaviest lift, and that is why it is popular

    • @strongmanvideos9109
      @strongmanvideos9109 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I saw one interview that Todd made, where he says that the Arnold Events are measured to get one or two athletes doing very well, six or seven having dificulties and two or three barely lifting the equipment. This is just for the show, it wouldn't be very enjoyable to see athletes lifting it so easy... So the weaker athletes have to train harder and heavier every year to keep up, in my opinion it's a good strategy. Imagine what kind of monsters you could form, like Shaw and Savickas. This is the heaviest competition on Earth, it's supposed to be that way.

      Mark Henry? Shaw would dominate him in any strongman event and probably has higher max lifts. Mark just went hard in a different sport.

      Mental One Shaw is much better in regards to Strongman than Mark. The thing is, Shaw has a lot of lifts that weren't recorded for competition but other highly regarded lifters have admitted to seeing him do, such as a deadlift in the high 900's with a fat axle bar and no wrist straps using a double overhand grip and the folks said he made it look easy. It's shit like that which show that if Shaw wanted to focus on powerlifting, he'd murder everyone but he enjoys Strongman more.

      dude is kinda right. there is no sense behind if you keep the weight so high. you could cut it, but make the distance longer. similar task, less injuries.

      KAOS GAMING Not to sound fucked but Hafthor has placed 2nd in WSM a whole of 1 time. Compared to Shaw, he's nothing. He may have one Strongest man in his country however many times, which is respectable, but when it comes to competing with the best from all around the world, he can't cut it to win. Big Z is the only one who rivals Shaw every time they are both competing and with Big Z out, nobody else had a chance. When Shaw retires.... it'll still probably be Eddie who is number 1 over Hafthor but you never know. That'd take Shaw retiring to find out 😂

      LongCut Arizona well Thor did beat Shaw twice in WSM. But it just happened when he beat him, Big Z did even better. And also when he beat Big Z, Brian Shaw did even better. Pretty unlucky, but he's definitely close to Shaw and Big Z's level

      Bjornsson is exactly as strong as Shaw but Shaw is not an actor he trains much more I guess and I think Shaw is the one with the biggest will to win...
