I apologize for the long wait on this video, I've been super busy juggling school, night shifts, a social life, and working on these videos. I have a much bigger project coming soon, so stay tuned. I appreciate y'all for the love and support.
Edit: follow my Twitter if you wanna keep up with what I’m doing since there’s usually like 2 months between videos. Link to Twitter in my about section.
Yo keep up the hard work, love these videos!
You should apologize for saying video game Music isnt real music there is actually no reason edit: wait its just in quotes sorry for the misunderstanding unless you agree with that quote then i hate ur guts
If video game music wasn’t real music, they wouldn’t sell soundtracks of it
I'm not paying $20 dollars for a 32 bit indie Game soundtrack

@@mariabatalla2419listen to doom eternal soundtrack for 5 seconds and you will feel like you could beat brock lesnar in a fight with your finger
There are traditional music bands that make game music and remixes. And like you said, they are selling game osts as albums since literally the 80. Also they are waaaaay too many artists that use video game music as bases for their music.
@@mariabatalla2419 I paid to import all six volumes of the Blue Archive OST directly from Japan.
Personally, I believe that there is no such thing as “Fake” music. Music is an expressive art form that has the ability to tell Stories and convey emotions. Saying such a thing is like saying that one car brand is “Real” and all other brands are “Fake”.
W take 💯
What about ai music on spotify?
@@golovkaanna8757 "art form" and "ai" never goes together, that shit hardly counts as music, let alone art
@@Arspen real shit. art is one of the core pillars of humanity so ai is completely and utterly incapable of ever making art.
“Music, even in situations of the greatest horror, should never be painful to the ear but should flatter and charm it, and therefore always remain music.” -Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
True

Imagine video games, movies, tv shows, cartoons, and animes without music. The experience wouldn't have been the same.
Great video man. Video game music is something I always adore and I feel like the composers aren't really given as much credit as they deserve. One of my favorite composers is Marty O' Donell and Michael Salvatori for their work on the Halo franchise, always giving each section of a level the right song to accompany the mood.
I could go on and on about my favorite composers for games if that was the topic of this video. The Halo composers are definitely up there for me as well just based on Halo 2 alone.
Also yeah koji kondo will forever be one of my favorite composers to have graced this planet lol, breaks my heart a lil whenever I mention him and someone I know is a huge Nintendo fan but has no clue the genius behind the masterpieces. Koji kondo is a seriously underrated guy and deserves far more recognition
same with Mahito Yokota who did a lot of the mario galaxy soundtracks
When someone says for me "vídeo game music is not actual music" I immediately give to him/her Kingdom hearts/Mario/Zelda and final fantasy soundtracks, because it's simply my true argue for every criticism about video game music.
Hollow Knight, Oneshot, Stardew Valley, TF2, Subnautica and by far one of the best in my opinion Cuphead. The freestyle jazz is godly.
Persona, legend of heroes trails series, nier, metal gear, devil may cry and more
Imma slowly push Sonic here too.
One word. Undertale, that all I'm gonna say.
Pretty sure you know the rest.
The most underrated game music (one of them) comes from kingsfeild 4 the ancient city, sorta the grandfather to dark souls from the same creators and really sets the scene every time you enter an area.
My mom say this everytime i put a game music in radio

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's really nice to hear somebody talk about music (and all art) like this. I loved this video and I can't wait to see your next video.
Thank you so much for watching, these videos take a long time cause they’re mainly a hobby so I’m glad to have you around
The fact this video doesn't a million views is a huge shame. Great video man.
One of the best Soundtracks is Team Fortress 2's I play the game a lot and it's always a great time to hear a randomised song on the Main Manu it's almost like the sporify shuffle but better
edit:I just noticed your channel has only 500 subs you deserve more subs for this kind of quality
I’m a little late for this video, but if you aren’t playing tf2 anymore, the bots have been banned and scream fortress is currently active.
Either way, have fun👍
imo rap bros are the only music fanbase that has says this, like you can say (respectfully) you just dont like rap and these mfs will hit you with "well all mainstream is garbage ,you just didnt listen to real rap music, you are racist, you listen to anime/game music"
It would be wrong to say that it isn’t music, but in some cases, fine to say it isn’t a song. This is the answer. It’s right here.
you just HAD to put no more what ifs in the intro. You madlad
Great as always, videos are getting better and better!
Sheesh dude this is high quality content-excited to see your next project
Next couple of projects are def gonna be big ones. I’ve been seeing you grind on TH-cam as well, best of luck with your content
New subscriber here! The way you presented everything in this video was fantastic! I'm actually writing a paper validating the legitimacy of video game music for one of my college classes, so it was cool to hear your commentary about people's opinions of VGM. Looking forward to your future videos!
VGM Fan: Man, this soundtrack's amazing! I could listen to this all day!
Anti-VGM Fan: Turn that crap off! That's not real music!
Dude, the quality of your videos are higher than people with 1000 times your subscriber count. Keep up the great work! I'm rooting for you!
seeing your content improve from video to video makes me happy and hyped for the future of your channel.
Keep it up my guy, i really enjoy your content.
That being sayed, i do feel like that visually the video is good, but i think it could be better. Some of the clips kinda feel disconnected from what is being talked about, could be just me tho.
I dont wanna be rude, the video is still very high quality and i enjoyed it throughout, just wanted to add a bit of input.
(edit: misspelling)
Was def hard to get footage that matched up on this one so the critique makes sense. Only a couple videos in so I strive to keep getting better and I very much appreciate your support as well. Hope to see you on my newer projects as they come out
another great video! i love the nostalgia feel ur vids give, cant wait to see more videos from you! commenting for the algorithm
I just found your channel today. Your level of presentation in each of your videos is mind-blowingly good, I can't believe you don't have at least 10k subs! So I'm doing my part,, and here's to hoping the algorithm notices the effort and care you put in.
thank you so much, i love these kinds of comments :^)
First video I've seen from you and it was great! You are super underrated man, how do you not have 4 digits yet!?
i actually gotta upload videos to get there 😭 i appreciate that so much though seriously
You deserve more subs man
Oof why I found this after four months lol
In my case it is weird because I almost exclusively just listen to ost of videogames, is not like normal music is bad or anything, but the situations I listened that music makes me liking it more.
Also the style as you said is totally different to other types of music, but still you can't find all generes in there, maybe even music with vocals that could be confused with others in the genre like for example some of the twewy, the modern persona games, anything from crush 40 etc
Plus can your cinema have the sound direction of a Yoko Taro game, I think not.
Idk I think video-game music is just neat
I agree with you
Can I just got on record and say that it should be a crime that Nintendo soundtracks are not available on streaming services because their games lowkey have some fire tracks in them. Koji Kondo is literally a legend.

Someone told me even movie music is fake music..
Also foreign music
Then that person is vandalizer who making some trouble.
a lot of my playlists consist of rythym games songs and instrumentals lol
The fact that MGR, DMC V, HALO, DOOM
And most of the memorable soundtracks of Nintendo
you can't tell me Video Gakr Music is not music
How does this dude have only 778 subscribers?
Interesting vid. There's quite a few tracks from final fantasy, especially 14 as there is more singing like footfalls would potentially storm the charts. Soken and nabou unemetsu are gods probably mick gordon too. Mainstream music nowadays is untalented crap, no wonder everyone I know just listens to game soundtracks now, even games they haven't played.
this is like a video by a guy named Cedster360, in which he compares video game music and rap/hip hop music and stuff. You should check it out.
Nice video man, can tell you worked your ass off on this one, quality is getting much better :))
thanks homes, really appreciate it
5:36 they missed the hidden 1-up I am so disappointed
Anyone who says that is out of line & wrong
If the dragon quest theme isn’t real music then idk what is
Some video game music is good. I do like the music in Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart. However, I do consider video game music to be very different than regular traditional music. Traditional music is always better which is why I listen to it a lot more.
No offense but this is pretty close minded. I can bring up several songs from games that would easily be on par with traditional music.
@@mojojojox5043 exactly and I agree with you
pigstep.
gud video, is very yes
Yoo super interesting! I will share my thoughts on why "they" call it fake music, since i think that it could be a deep topic.
So i think that Game music is built different from other music, specially Movie music, because the development of the Games is quite different from Movies. Maybe because Game developers don't have the same amount of Money invested in Music itself. ´
So comming from that, Game music composers don't have the same "marketing", or public image of Movie Composers have.
Movie music have had a great link with classical music, and has known how to implement it to the Industry.
Besides, Game music has some great projects (mostly the ones with the good Money), but it looks like Game composers have been building new music looking back to the same projects, and entering a big mess of a loop.
I have hope that new Game music will explore new ways of expressing feelings, and learn from the classics!
Never accuse videogame music or else you will end up as a problem. Yes it would cost your life into disaster.
There is no such thing as fake music.

Video game music is'nt'nt real music
It'd not necessarily a lack of quality it sort of just loses by default, think about it, real music has been around for centuries longer, has gone through so many changes, has dozens of thousands more track artists and bands to fit your needs and most have vocals which many people prefer and already limits the song because getting rid of vocals in a song takes away a lot from it, and have used a much caster array of instruments, I still enjoy osts but traditional music will always be seen as better and no matter what anyone says it always will be in one way or another.
Have you been talking to boomers again? Lol
"video game" music is aight most of the time, but there's way better out there. Of course it won't randomly onto you and you need to research on your own.
There's more too it than that. I can bring up a lot of soundtracks that are on par with traditional music for albums.
You just haven't played many good games then

the obvious point yr missing here is that, yes, there is no such thing as real or fake music, and yes, video game music is just as worthy of consideration as other sorts of music, the fact remains that there exist Certain Groups of People that listen to nothing but video game music, and in more than one person's opinion, that first group is not worth the gum on yr shoe. they'd do anything to poison the well against those lowbrow nitwits¹, and that includes re-arranging the definition of art to their liking. and, you know what? there's a morsel of truth to that. or maybe some primordial thrill to seeing some subhuman pond scum² get put on blast. one can tolerate a complete an utter destruction of the self-worth if the assailant puts some wit into it. you, however³, are not that. a dry pretentious⁴ script is still a dry pretentious script no matter how many "guy who just came up with a deku from my hero academia voice but also has only seen tiktok clips of other guyses deku from my hero academia voices"-isms you put into the reading of it. but, the real point⁵ the second group⁶ are circling, is that, in the least insulting terms that i can put this in, music made by recording artists, for an album or single format; by classical composers, hunched over a desk, scribbling out notes as if they were writing a diary entry for a day wherein every colour was seen; absolute or program; by rappers, the unrealised⁷ wordsmiths; which is credited to a single artist but was the product of tens of people working hard on songs that end up given to someone who just sang it⁸; in any genre, whether folk, metal, pop, country, jazz, psychobilly, vaporwave, hip hop, punk, emo, eai⁹, whatever; would be better subjects for intellectual ponderings and other brainy pursuits than whatever miki obaka cooked up for pokémon dash. you know what i mean, right? it means¹⁰ PUT DOWN THAT WII U GIVEN TRITE AND START PROPERLY EXPLORING THAT MUSICAL LANDSCAPE, THAT'S WHAT!

¹no offence intended, i'm getting into the mindset of the strawmen i just made up.
²still from the pov of the hivemind of strawmen, remember.
³or the you who lives forever in this vid.
⁴and not the silly prog rock kind of pretentious!
⁵and the one that i, personally, wish to shout from the rooftops about.
⁶the ones that hate the ones who only love vgm. i hope these footnotes aren't too confusing and you gave up reading this. if you are, hi! y'know, i spent too much time writing these comments. i should do some actual creative writing. i've got a lot of sentences planned out for a short story type dealie, but only 2 written down. but, when i finish it, you... probably won't be the first to know. sorry.
⁷unrealised, as in "not many people realise this", not "this person failed at whatever so now they do this"
⁸this is not to insult whoever, this is just the way the music business is, and i wish it wasn't. it would be very cool to have the names of all the songwriters on the front cover of like avril lavinges next record, but so far, no one has been brave enough to try that yet.
⁹if you would allow me to digress in the form of a very hyperbolic meme: blokes who say "video game music is real music" when you take them to a sachiko m concert: and then a picture of a guy cartoonishly bursting with rage
¹⁰please imagine the following screed fitting into some sort of "propaganda" poster. and again, no hard feelings.
