It's more of a mentality thing to stay inside your own body, comfort in familiarity basically. Ex: Rick and morty, Rick shot his brains out in Jerry's body.
Donald is almost entirely machine, but the Reanimen are still very organic. They're corpses that are constantly able to push their muscles to the absolute limit since they don't get tired, and their limits are far beyond human because of all the tech shoved into their bodies. But it could be that there's just not enough of Donald left to make into a sentient Reaniman, or else it could be that a sentient Reaniman is impossible due to the kind of strain all of those changes would put on the body and mind. I mean, Donald can barely stand being a machine that's a perfect pantomime of the human form. Imagine if he was inhabiting a body like those of the Reanimen.
I think Donald would prefer to be human-like. Also there's probably a certain amount of body mass required for Reanimen, so Donald might not be a viable candidate for that kind of operation, since only his brain remains right now. And just to screw with everyone's head a bit: Donald's voice actor is Chris Diamantopoulos. That's right. that incredibly acted scene by a character named Donald is the same guy who has voiced Mickey Mouse since 2013.
Really ? And I'm learning this just when I plan to put my tentacles on "Kingdom Hearts", giving it the "Grimm" feeling, like "Invincible" is the "Grimm" tale of DC ? Don't you just love seeing dots connecting ?
He maybe 98% machine when it comes to his body, but he's 100% human where it counts, in mind and soul is were it counts, that's where it matters. So long as there is still the humanity where he loves and cares about others, he's still human
What I like about his statement about not being our bodies, is it emphasizes how what makes us is how we affect those around us. Our private lives, the things we do to ourselves or by ourselves, for ourselves, thats empty. Thats in a vacuum, that typically dies and is forgotten. You are what people around you see you as, and thats rarely your decision.

The moment you realize Donald isn't just a yes man.
He proved that when he saved everyone in the "duck blind" that had been observing Omniman. This is just the moment you realize that that moment was entirely within his character.
This scene almost made me cry. Having someone that perfectly understands what you’re going through, yet helps you see the good in the situation is life-saving
How many times did Cecil have this convo I wonder?
Don't know. But I can tell Cecil doesn't like having them.
Between one and 39 since that’s the amount of times he has died so far.
Considering Donald changed his mind about erasing his memories, I don't think he's ever found out, before, honestly.
@@cynicat74I imagine he's figured it out before, Donald seems pretty smart, but each time he decided to erase his memories of figuring it out and go back to not knowing. Because that trauma really stuck with him, it would anyone, and it wasn't until this episode that he realized that while the deaths were traumatic, what he was doing each and every time was saving lives, people lived because he died. He and Cecil probably won't have that conversation again, though I imagine bringing Donald back will get more expensive and he'll probably experiment with his mechanical body more, I certainly would.
@@Lorekeeper72 Donald has a pretty weird personality doesn't he. Almost like each time he's been put back together he's lost a bit of himself.
Rick went from a little side joke to a guy who seen so much horror
Even though the hype for invincible show has died down I’m still happy to see them continue this showing great scenes, this one is one of my favorites
This was a very nice scene and I’m excited to see more of Ricks and Williams relationship in the future
Did Donald just become my favorite in the series? Yeah. Yeah he did.
As someone who’s been working through a lot of mental health issues over the past few years. This hit way too close to home. But it gave me more reasons to keep fighting. Donald is right, who we are isn’t about what we’re physically made of, how you can change the world around you is what matters.
98% machine.
100% hero. 100% human. 100% Donald.
one of the very few times the line "i know how you feel" is genuine
Donald was the best part of the episode in my opinion. Him and Allen even tho he was literally at the very end.
I have a feeling season 3 is gonna be Allen's season.
@@wiinterflowers95 I hope so
"I'm proud of you Bobby. Dammit son, you’re my boy” - Hank Hill
They changed everything, but they couldn't change his heart.
My respect for Donald just skyrocketed
Donald turned into one of my favourite characters this season
Donald is the unsung hero of this series right now
The line delivery in this scene is absolutely flawless
He may be 98% machine, but he still has his heart in the right place.
this is honestly peak writing. this speaks to me on a spiritual level
You're a good man Donald, you maybe 98% machine. But you'll always be one with a good heart 100%.
This Scene is Focused on Rick trying to (and presumably unsuccessfully) to Kill himself. But I'd like to drag everyone's attention to William whose seeing the love of his life contemplating about taking his own life.
I just want everyone here to imagine what's going threw William's Head as the Man less than an inch away from death. This was hard for Rick but even harder for William as he was completely powerless in this scene.
It's funny. Robot wanted to become human, and even though he got a body he still isn't completely. And Donald, who, despite what he's been through, STILL maintains and is MORE human despite his body being 98% machine.
Donald might not realise it,but he a TRUE hero
a hero dont need big costume, flamboyant names or even powers
a hero is someone who TALK to peoples
who szve them by WORDS, who help them by talkin to them and make them realise is dometimes, what thry font really want
Being a hero is to understand why people act like that and save them by helping them getting through things, opening their eyes.
Donald genuinely got a great arc, I gotta say, I didn’t understand your character development game Donald, I’m impressed
It's wild, how seeing someone else going through your struggle can help you find a better perspective on things.
Donald Is definitely my favourite character after this scene.
Wow, what a speech I was tearing up 🥲
I love this scene - I think it’s the most heartwarming thing I’ve heard on the show.
We are not our bodies, we are the decisions we make, the people we save and love ❤️
"It is the nature of a thing that matters, not its form" - An amazing Dearven blacksmith
Reminder that Donald is a respectful king, did not take even a step forward the whole time after being asked.
Amazing character development from Donald and even Rick too
Dude died 39 times and retained his humanity. Donald you GOAT!
It bears to keep in mind that ALL of his deaths were basically self-sacrefices to save others.
Even after learning the truth Donald still does what he does best, saving people. Gigachad.
it's interesting how Donald's design screams "throwaway CIA agent character" and he ends up being more heroic than some of the superheroes.
When Donald says he's 98% machine, he's referring to the fact that our brains are worth about 2% of our body mass.
That and Russ from Silicon Valley.
"We are not our bodies. We're the decisions we make."
Donald continues to be an amazing character and a shining example of humanity 👏👏
1:45 “Thirty Nine times we fought that beast, your old man and me”
Rick really couldn't have timed this better. Imagine if this happened AFTER Cecil got his memory wiped
the upbeat outro music kills me every time
Bender is down below watching Bender: Hey cyborg there something I gonna to say to you. Do a Flip!
Hahaha
Donald didn’t choose to give his life for what he believed in, he chose to suffer for it.
Donald is the best. He’s such a good person.
He maybe 98% machine when it comes to his body, but he's 100% human where it counts, in mind and soul is were it counts, that's where it matters. So long as there is still the humanity where he loves and cares about others, he's still human
The scene where you realize the title "I'm not going anywhere" applies to Donald as much as anyone else.
Donald didn't just save Rick's life, Rick saved Donald's too.
I love the way Donald says "I've died 39 times...so far." To me, that implies he's ready to die again if he has to. That's a true GOAT in my opinion🙂
This truth was the most shocking thing ever. Donald truly is a good person ❤❤❤❤
As a straight man, I would’ve gave Rick a hug he needs it🥺💯
What I like about his statement about not being our bodies, is it emphasizes how what makes us is how we affect those around us.
Our private lives, the things we do to ourselves or by ourselves, for ourselves, thats empty. Thats in a vacuum, that typically dies and is forgotten. You are what people around you see you as, and thats rarely your decision.
When Rick started sobbing I sobbed too. It felt too real. This season is giving me so much Bojack Horseman vibe. Donald is the GOAT!
I need the music in that talking down part of the vid.
Heavenly and bittersweet celebration of humanity
"Donald you are to competant to die. WTF were we supposed to do?! FIND A REPLACEMENT? HAHAHaHahaha"
