    Hey, Human buddy! I REALLY have to thank you for this video!!! I have been actually lazing around and not feeling hungry (thus being satisfied with only one meal a day) for two days when this video came out and introduced me to ketosis, which really fascinated me! It reminded me of multiple other people who successfully lost weight through fasting/ intermittent fasting and I decided I was going to jump into this properly (since I’m not too bad at going without food for many hours)! I’m already on my second week and I’m not medically qualified to guarantee if I’m right or wrong about this… but just yesterday, I felt something almost incredible happening in my body. After the 18th hour, I felt so lightweight, energetic, alert, with no cravings/hunger pangs at all smoothly for the next 5 hours! It was almost saddening to break my fast after 24 hours but I’m not going to overdo myself yet as I’m still getting to know my body better. But I’m really loving this potential change in lifestyle and my relationship with food and maybe I’ll finally get into shape! Thanks to you for introducing us to this topic! 🤩

      @@Trinity313 so this made me think hard about the definition of vain and the technicalities. Not to argue but I even thought if someone used my name in situations to see how I felt and so on. I discovered I didn’t get mad at it but hearing it a lot would get old like dude that’s weird it doesn’t make sense to even throw my name around like that… but here’s the thing if you actually giving praise or saying his name out of fear for your life or something that’s actually calling on the lord not in vain it’s only vain if the person who said it meant nothing at all and just said it to say it or worse use it as a cuss word.. but guess what people did use it in those contexts and others didn’t get it fully so they started copying like a bunch of sheep or goats which if you didn’t know the animal in big groups are so silly u can say baaa or ahhh and they look at you and say it back it’s so cute. People naturally do this because it’s apart of our adaptive process since infancy… but being I guess older and more civilized learning what boundaries there are in all aspects of our judgment of what’s good and evil and their comparisons it makes sense why it’s called a “mortal sin” because apparently we are the only ones doing silly stuff like that it is foolish but ignorant indeed in many ways then we think. I thought that was interesting to share feel free to share your ponderings.

    This excellent cartoon left out the need to add electrolytes to water (when fasting 3 to 7 days or more) so the potassium, sodium, chloride, and magnesium levels can be sustained, thereby making it easier to tolerate not eating and keep you from getting cramps and perhaps avoid heart flutters, headaches, etc, so say many PhD's and MD's on TH-cam. Day 4 to 5, i got insomnia and my heart started experiencing severe heart palpitations, Day 6 today my energy levels stabilized and i dont crave any sugary food anymore, but my muscles feel weaker, as if i lost strength. Mind you guys, i am drinking water with salt and taking a multivitamin a day. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. We do swear sometimes and it’s fine as long as it isn’t used to insult someone or to disrespect them. Think OverSimplified, a famous history channel. They sprinkle some sentences like “Who the hell are you?” or “Dang it!” to add some character to the characters’ dialogues. I know they are bad words but they are not as bad as the other ones like the F word.

    Glycogen doesn't get converted into glucose. If theres no carbs to make glucose the body will use protein to make what is required (gluconeogenusis) then switch back to using stored fat to make ketones. Every time glucose or Glycogen needs to be refilled gluconeogenusis occurs.

      yes, but this is a different kind of fasting. This kind of fasting is when you don't eat at all for an extended period of time, however fasting during Ramadan is when you don't eat, drink, or have sexual relations from dawn to sunset. Coming from another Muslim, by the way. Please correct me if I made any mistakes in my explanation!

    I started a fast back at the start of October. It was supposed to be for a week and I ultimately failed day 3 but after those first 48 hours, I wasn’t hungry. The rest of the week I ate minimally, things like nuts, pickles or apples. This described perfectly how i was feeling and I would love to try a full 7 days. Even though I had only completely fasted for 2 days, I still lost 9 lbs. I’m not saying everyone will lose 9 lbs, it might be because I’m fairly overweight, not quite sure. (And this was with minimal exercises like light weight lifting and sit ups)

Yes, you don't eat until sunset, You repeat this for 30 days, or more! Ramadan is usually done from March to April, After Ramadan, you can eat normally, or if you want to continue, it's fine! • @samyakchhajed
    @samyakchhajed 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    In Jainism, we have our festival called, "Paryushan" where
    Stage 1: We abstain from eating any ground vegetables, and green vegetables. And we only eat, and drink boiled water between the sunrise, and sunset.
    Stage 2: We extend onto this and only eat one meal, and drink boiled water before the sunset
    Stage 3: We abstain from eating anything, and only drink boiled water between sunrise, and sunset (as long as we want; however, there are some amount of days which are preferred like: 1, 3, 7-8, 10, and so on) Stage 3 is the 2nd most respected one, and can go beyond 1 month. Some monks have done it for several months on a stretch.
    Also, we take high precautions not to kill any living being during this month. We wear normal cotton-white kurta pyjamas, and other garments, and wear a mouth patch to prevent entering, and swallowing of any small organism. Some of us pray daily. However, a grand prayer is held at the last day where everyone gathers, and prays together while repeatedly bowing, and standing, and joining hands and such, and asking for forgiveness from every living being we may have hurt knowingly/unknowingly hurt.
    After, the prayer, we hug each other and say, "Micchami Dukadam" which is a heartfelt apology seeking forgiveness from the one it's said to.
    Note: All Jains are vegetarians, so by default no meat products are part of our diet including eggs.
    Additional fun-fact: There is a brutal Stage 4 as well, where a person neither drinks food, nor drinks water. It's a tormenting fast where a person may choose to do it for several days (and that's not all), some do it for as long as they are alive doing it (yeah, you heard that right) It's basically not seen as a death sentence, but as a means which is meant to liberate the soul, according to our tradition.
    In case I haven't mentioned it already, it occurs once a year for slightly more than a month just like Ramadan.
