This is one of the reasons why Nintendo rules. They use a full fricken orchestra to produce music for their games. Their music is just as damn good and legendary as their games.
@@ello-olle miyamoto didn’t do anything or contribute to this galaxy or the previous one in a meaningful way other than vague feedback and the insistence that there was minimal to no story. it’s a wonder games as good as these were able to be made while he was part of the company, consistently holding everything back.
I can’t even imagine the feeling of being in that room... feeling the vibration of so many instruments giving it their all would be hair raising. Just trying to has me tearing up. God.... The fact you know this might have been THE take that made it is so magical...
You should go to an orchestra concert cause it can be just as powerful an experience as you'd expect - if you don't know much classical music I'd suggest The Planets by Holst as it has similar contrasts to the Galaxy OST between dark and menacing, joyful and heroic, soft and romantic, and creepy and mysterious. Either that or something like Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto or Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake for something more lyrical and melodic
I believe Koji Kondo is the guy at 1:49, the conductor of this piece appears to be Taizo Takemoto. Such a beautiful soundtrack, brings a tear to my eye every time.
He's just thinking about it very critically to make sure it's exactly how he wants it. He did the same for a lot of other songs including the theme to gusty garden galaxy
To think they are actually playing this music and its not a recording blows my mind they sound so good and since its from the game it sounds like they played a recording over thus but they are just so good it sound like they are. This music is amazing it reminds me of my childhood
Sometimes before I go to bed, I go outside and lay on the grass while gazing up and the stars and listening to this song. It makes me feel like I’m one with the universe
I don’t know what I would of done with my childhood without this game. Literal definition of a masterpiece. Music usually doesn’t make me cry, but this makes all my tears come out and I feel so many different emotions listening to this idk it’s incredible. seeing miyamoto it feels like he personally wanted me to have the fondest memories, it's weird how you can relate to people you never spoke to more than close family members
Super mario galaxy 2 is literally the stuff I dream about! It's like my own world and it's an adventure with no goal! Just exploring everything! It's empty, yet full of life, exciting yet calming at the same time! Like wth bro!
Getting this game when I was around 9 years old was so much fun, yet I was young, so I of course got angry at this game. However I recently replayed and realized how much this game truly made me fall in love with Nintendo as a kid

Nintenkid91 yeah. As somebody who understands music, this makes me see the geniusness of the composer. Just everything.
same!
Very true. It’s always nice when you can listen to a video game soundtrack and appreciate it separate from the game as well.
Blizzard Entertainment is great about full orchestra’s in games such as Overwatch. But I do agree in what you say with Nintendo
That’s why people like Skyward Sword I guess! ;P
1:56 to 2:00 Miyamoto leans back as if to say "Yes... this is what I envision..."

He's noding his head in approval to that wicked horn/trombone countermelody.

Nintendo/Mario knows how to touch every children heart with their music. I'm a Mario fan since 1992
Miyamoto approves.
AsTheyCollide I think he’s just approving of all the money he made
