the Drums of Peak Fiction!!!!!!!!!
JOYBOYYY-GAAAA
The guy wearing Chopper's hat is a legend
That's the conductor. And yes, he is an absolute legend!
There's also a guy up and left from the drumming girl with Sanji's hair.
And Law on a woodwind on the left side.
And a marine right of center.
i allways wondered about the job as a conductor, no one ever watches the guy, everyone are following their note...
in what way are a conductor leading the charge if no one even look at him?
i would be willing to bet we wouldn't notice on the music itself if he was there or not, can anyone explain this for me with logic?

That’s Mozchop right there
CHOPPERMAAAAAN!
I'm having a nerd out with this performance, not just from a One Piece stand point but from a music nerd stand point. Each drum present in at the front are from different cultures: taiko drum (japan), congo drum (cuba), bongo drum (afro-cuban), snare drum (swiss), timpani (italy), wood blocks (chinese). Five drums from different cultures that have their own unique sounds combined together to make a unified beat for the 'drums of liberation' theme. That is an amazing level of depth to this theme.
A fair amount of misinformation here. Congas and bongos are both afro-cuban. The snare drum doesn't originate from any specific country, and timps aren't italian, only their name is.
I agree that the variety of percussion is cool, but that's just how almost any percussion-heavy orchestral piece works. Percussion in general is just full of different cultures; unless the composer intentionally chooses everything from one culture, it'll just naturally have lots of variety.
@@itsSmiv thank you. Would you consider this a samba? I'm honestly interested in what style this is and you seem competent
@@xmobstersal4167 the rhythm is somewhat similar to a samba, I'd say it's samba-esque. But a true samba would need to have something mimicing the important instruments in a samba; most importantly the Surdo, pandeiro/caixa, and repinique, but this doesn't really do any samba rhythms from those instruments.
Overall I don't think this necessarily falls into one specific style. I'd honestly say overall this is more of a march, but I can definitely hear some samba qualities to it. Sorry that I can't give a concrete answer to your question lmao.
@@itsSmiv haha you did great I appreciate it. My drum instructor told me to pick up a samba jam to learn as it will "open doors" . As a one piece lover this song came to mind immediately, I think I can convince him it's close enough 😅
@@xmobstersal4167 that might be a little tough to convince him on lmaoo, but i hope he accepts it, that'd be cool. You could always tweak it a little bit to make it even more samba-like.
The surdo is basically a Brazilian bass drum, so you could change the bass drum part to be more of a surdo groove. Either just light hits on each beat, or dotted 8th + 16th note for each beat. I'd recommend the latter. The most important thing for making the groove sound like a samba, though, is to dampen the hits (place a hand on the drum head while you hit it) for beats 1+3, and do undampened hits for beats 2+4. Maybe if you tell your teacher that you'd add that in, it might convince him a little more. Hope this helps!
Damn, everyone is getting One Piece fever. OP is truly a phenomenon.
we really out there!
This is the start of the next Great Pirate Era!

Finally, someone who plays the full drum introduction! I don't like it when all these other covers skip it or cut it off
When the drums are so vital! The Drums of Liberation!
I love how some of them are somewhat cosplaying! Plenty are doing Luffy ( which makes sense, due to what they’re playing), one is doing Chopper, another is doing Sanji, and one brave soul is dressed up as a Marine. XD
Got Law in there too
@@RutabegaNG Really? May I ask where? 👀
3:36 @@Zelk37 law is in the frame and a few seconds before it, I think that's zoro on the violin
I think the one that are cosplaying as luffy are actually the percusionists (piano is a percussion). Which make even more sense.
@Pirate_King6969 Thank you for the time frame, and it's cool that you managed to spot a Zoro! :D
We have costume referencing Luffy, Chopper, Law and a Marine uniform, but not the Strawhat's musician. Brook wouldn't believe his eyes

Oda really cooked these drums
"Oda" XD
yeah all him never mind the hundreds of people in over this lol
@@MouseGoat that's not what I mean like when I say oda I mean the whole team bc I don't know anything about the rest of the team the whole team, like iam smart enough to know that oda is not the musician
...You coulda said the music team for the anime, dude. Oda's actually talked in author's notes about how he worked with a composer to get a theme to go with his "Bink's Sake" lyrics because he couldn't write or play music. Oda writes and draws the manga (with many assistants and editors and so on also involved). He's probably consulted for the anime from time to time, and he speaks positively of it when he mentions it at all, but he's not exactly got a hand in the anime production process. Don't give credit to the wrong person and the try to pretend you meant to do that. If it's really that you didn't know who to name, then name 'em for what they do: the person that composed the music, the ochestra that played it for the anime, the team that recorded it and mixed it into the soundtrack, the storyboarders and fight choreographers and directors and animators that made the epic visuals to match...
It's probably on the animation side, not just oda. But i guess oda made specifications like it must be festive and is related to beating (since his gears from 2nd to 5th are related with blood, bones, muscles, and heart, respectively), like beating of the heart. It's just a really simple correlation of things. Oda cooked simply but magnificently
@@Meemaw96 that's 100% true but oda watches the episode before it's uploaded so yeah he plays a turn in that
Its absolutely criminal to not have the guy on piano in a brook outfit.❤
How would he grab the shell from his skull then?
Best thing i ever heard in 800 years
GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its been a while... i can hear the drums of liberation, i can hear them for the first time in 800 years...
As someone in a caribbean country where percussion is very important I can feel this. I want this played on a "fiesta e' palo" with palo instruments
Wish you luck :)
Never seen an orchestra with the drums upfront before that must have been interesting for everyone as the drums would now be on the opposite side they’re used to
It’s so interesting, I assume it’s to stage the drums in front of the crowd so it’s not only louder and more intense, but also framed in the front so the audience’s view is full of drums.
@dragoncandles3602 yeah, you're going to want those drums front and centre for a piece named Drums of Liberation.
1:05 Everyone thinks they can take this goofy kid until the woodblocks kick in.
JoyBoy wa... Kaetekitaaa!!
The fact that this is the sound made by Luffy's heart is so sick

Told my heart play that shit loudly and keep that song on repeat
HE HAS RETURNED!
JOYBOY!!! 🐘
I'm so glad I lived long enough to hear the Drums of Liberation _😁😁😁😁_
This is super cool! I wish I could watch it live
No idea when OP became so popular in the west. I started watching OP early 2000. When kids were watching pokemon and Digimon, I was watching OP and Naruto.
One piece was always on when I was younger too around 2002, the English dub was just annoying so I woulda only watch for a minute or two
I think it started with the pandemic. The 4kids dub ruined any early chance for OP to be as big as naruto or FMA.
When kids were watching pokemon and digimon, I was watching inuyasha and gundam seed and anything else on Bionix.... ALONG with pokemon and digimon.
@@Raydnt69 ...did you just hit me with the nostalgia bomb of Bionix?
@crows6591 I can never watch dubs. There were no streaming sites back then.m and dsl wouldn't allow video streaming anyway. We pirate new episodes weekly. Asian subs are the best. Accurately capture some contexts that can't be translated through english. Now I settle with English subs for convenience.
And within 2 seconds the feeling is back......
He has reached his peak
The Percussionists: "At last... our moment has come."
Why did this immediately make me emotional 😭
Anyone else looking for Easter Eggs. How many did you spot? I saw Trafalgar Law hat, Straw Hat, Marine, Tony Tony Chopper hat, Sanji hair style
