Good video. The womans reaction was the same as the first time I tried the fruit. The jujubee tree takes a few years before it produces a lot of fruit. Up until 10th year, the fruit yield doubles each year. Also, watch out for the shooters that grow up from the ground. Unattended jujubee trees will grow into a thicket. Also, grasshoppers love the fruit. Good idea to keep a bird feeder nearbye so the birds will come and eat the grasshoppers. Learned from experience. Love jujubees!!!

By any chance you know what kind jujube tree is that bears dark red round shape jujube? Is sugar cane jujube really sweeter than Li jujube?

It’s regular here in China as peanuts. It was widely used as sugar in north China for thousands years.

They become dates when they are left them on the tree to overripe. You don't cook them.

The can be candied if they're cooked, however that doesn't result in a "date" as you said.

As a standard practice of growing jujube fruits, do farmers need to spray jujube fruits with pesticides at all? I'm just wondering whether the dried jujube exported from China are sprayed with any pesticides.

Quantum Chang Jujube trees don't have any known pests other than birds that like to peck at the fruit. If you get bird damage on your fruit you can place mylar streamers around the trees to scare off the birds.

leroy87532 Nice to know you don't need to eat posion with such a healthy fruit. Thank you for that info :)

@@quantumchang4410 @leroy87532 That's true in the US, as most of the pests stayed in Asia. But I think jujube are sprayed in China. I know they have fungal issues (Witches Broom) and may also have insects there that require sprays.

I suggest not to buy this big variety. We call it "apple/pear jujube" but it's very few tasty.
Smaller varieties are much more tastier in my opinion. This big fruit variety looks beautiful anyway

Interesting fruit.......but why can't you use a zoom function on the camera? This interview isn't much better than a radio interview if we can't see the product and we hear every bite she takes....
