Alright. I enjoy watching all your vlogs but this one was a definite favorite. A little family (old photo's of you two), a little history, great drone work and video, and then there's the great sense of humor. Really well done fellas. On another note, nothing will ever be fully stress free, but it looks the past few months have been good for you both. As for getting on each others nerves.. well, enjoy that too. Before she passed away, my wife and I worked very closely together for a number of years. People were amazed we could spend 24 hours a day together for more than a decade without one of us rolling the other into a shallow grave, but she was absolutely my best friend. When they asked how we did it, she would jokingly say he drinks and I take pills. haha. Still makes me laugh. Anyway, this was one of your best. Safe travels :)
Jesse, I don't know how you can cope without her. The thought of losing Shaun gives me a cold sweat and I lose sleep worrying about it. I know I wouldn't cope without him so you are the strongest person I know to be able to carry on after being so close. xxxx
Oh Wow! Was speechless upon seeing your photos way back railway time and together in 1993. Wow! You have gone through all these years! Bless you. I felt nostalgic in a way. T'was around the same time I met my former partner. We were together for many years, too, but alas, working in two different countries made us grow apart. Will always have a place in my heart. But yes, indeed, may you continue forever into your golden years. Now I understand deeper what another said in his comment -- the love between you two is just wonderful and beautiful.
You two can get on my nerves any day. 🤪. Very interesting vlog. 🧐Thank you chaps for yet another supreme vlog. You never let the standard drop. TGIF. 🙌 🤗💖
Just discovered this blog! Great!!! I'm a Yank who used to live in England and am a confirmed anglophile. Love just watching the great British countryside glide by as well as your comments.
the thing we LOVE the most about you two, is that your not afraid to be goofy/silly. This is a wonderful character trait, .it keeps you young. My partner & I have been married for 20 years and it only feels like 5. We attribute this to being able to be our true selves with each other which is goofy as well (being able to be big kids with each other, you two have that and its a GREAT thing!!! Love that your vlogs are not predictable. Hope all went well with dawg. LOL Love you guys.
You boys are the best. I almost spit out my tea on the outtakes this week. You are the highlight of my Fridays. Thank you to both of you and little Dillion as well. Kisses and Hugs.
I remember being young and in love too. Back then life was in black & white. Now I'm flirting with seventy, and the only boating I do is vicariously. I agree with everybody else, you two are great, your videos are excellent, and thank you so much for doing this so that I can come along.
I found your vlogs a couple weeks before Christmas. After watching a few, I went back to the beginning and have been "binge" watching ever chance I get till I catch up. I have enjoyed your vlogs immensely. You are chrismatic, funny and very informative. I love history and I find narrowboats and the history fasinating. I watched with awe as "Silver Fox" was being born. I belly laughed so hard on the questions and the "Curly Hayre" puns you were doing. You both do a great job keeping the watcher's attention and anticipating the next episode. Dillion is so cute and you did a great job grooming him. Give him a hug for me. If ever I get to come to England, being on a narrowboat for a few days is certainly on my bucket list. Keep the vlogs coming and God Bless you both and Dillion. Well done!
Ah, Annette! That's such a lovely comment. Thanks for taking the time to write that. We never appreciate that people actually watch us, let alone enjoy our videos. Thank you! 💜
I'm slowly working my way through each blog and each one seems to get better. The editing and camera work is professional. But what makes your blogs are the personal touches you add. I know nothing about the history of your country but each episode I seem to learn a little more. 'River flowing upstream?' Just wonderful. Keep up the good work. I'm now a Patron

Good morning, gentlemen. 101 degrees here in my part of California so I’m watching this again to cool off. Your posts are like mini history lessons; I so enjoy them. I’m off to the largest Scottish Games in North America!! Happy travels.

Another great post, I have to say that the canal looks the best maintained I've seen so far on any of the Narrowboat volgs I follow and the bridges are beautiful, thank you, boys, look forward to the next post.
Was actually searching for St. Aidan's mine flood material and stumbled upon your brilliant vlog - which does include some new-to-me photos of the river breach, so thank you for that. I grew up in the area between Hunslet & Methley and have walked/cycled the ACN towpath many times, but have never actually ventured onto the water. It was lovely to see some of the old landmarks from the viewpoint of a boat on the navigation. The aerial shots around Thwaites Mill and Castleford cut were superb. Really enjoyed the vlog, the music and your banter. Thank you for sharing.
Thank's for the ride, the history, the scenery, and the laughs. Good to see Dillon in good form blissfully ignorant of what is to come. He'll be fine and back to normal in no time. Take care, enjoy the family visits and see you next week.
Colin thank you for the time and effort you put in on these vlogs. The music and the pictures/videos are so soothing and relaxing. These outakes and drone shots are amazing. You are amazing! Thank you brother!
It's no wonder you guys are trending! What a fab vlog. Please keep the wonderful historical information coming as you travel. I am so pleased you saw a Kingfisher. We saw 3 on the Lanky when we were on holiday this year but not close. Flashes of blue as they flew ahead of the boat! I am sure Dillon is fine after the dentistry, our cat Kai had 5 teeth out on the same jaw last year and he is like a kitten again now at 14! Thanks for another wonderful vlog :). Ian
Thanks, Ian! I can't believe we haven't seen more Kingfishers with the amount we've covered. Dillon's fine, he was actually okay the day after the op! 😂
Really enjoyed the river footage....great editing and mixing. Love the idea of a coal mine becoming a nature preserve even if it was an accident. The snaps of you were great and Dylan was looking particularly goofy this time out. Hope his dental 🦷 surgery goes easily and he’s soon back in form. Always look forward to your Friday offering have a great week ...all the best...Chris 🇨🇦
You have been together for years?!? I thought this was your honeymoon! You guys are so good together, I thought it was still new and shiny relationship
Hi guys that was fascinating story of the river flooding the quarry you look at all the devastation when they were repairing it and then you look at it now with all the trees lining it you would never know anything that happened fantastic well done good story
Just found your channel today! Went back through your videos to see if you had been on the canal through castleford and Knottingley as this is where I grew up. Only to then find out you're from castleford! I grew up between Knottingley and Featherstone (Featherstone lass through and through) and think it's fantastic I gew up less than 5miles away for these 2great guys in the canal! I've always been interested by the canal boats I've walked past for many years, although I don't think I will ever find myself on one, it's fantastic to see the canals through your eyes!
Wow you 2 just get better looking with age loved this vlog and love you guys a big hug for Dillon a glittery NOO NOO the mind bogles here in Australia but I think I figured it out extra hug for Dillon when he gets his teeth out:))))
Beautifully shot and edited video, as always. This was a particularly fascinating vlog, with the sequences through Leeds and on the Aire & Calder. Great commentary from Colin, as always, and you guys make us feel so welcome as we travel along with you. And thanks for sharing something from your earlier lives. What can I say? I look forward to Fridays and the publication of the Foxes Afloat vlog!
Great video as usual! Was great seeing you in your younger days. I had no idea that you guys have been together that long. Wouldn't mind hearing more about your history together if you are ever in the mood to share....
I love your vlogs. They just feel good. I know I'm going to smile a lot and sometimes giggle. There's the views, the historical information, and then you guys are so darn cute. Love those old photos.❤ Colin, did you say: a bloat tried to get on the boat. I always wondered what that means (bloat), and am I spelling that right. Chuckle, chuckle😂
Really getting a lot of inspiration from your Vlogs ! I’m wading my way through on them gradually , as I’ve only recently started watching . So well done guys ! Big congrats 🎉 Lester in Croydon .
I quite liked this one. I loved the drone shots! I almost wet my self laughing at the outtakes! Another great one Colin and Shaun! Can't wait until next Friday! Mark from Colorado xx
New to your vlog and enjoying getting all caught up! My husband and I retired from a large city in middle USA to a 66 acre ranch further south which is quite an adventure of its own, but I love traveling through your eyes on the Narrowboat! I'm the maintenance man for tractors, buildings and equipment as well so I enjoy your take on the technical aspects of boating mechanics. Cheers!
Welcome! Thank you for joining us. Some of our earlier episodes show a lot of the technical aspects of the boat being built. We're doing a servicing episode soon too. All the best! x
That feeling of home of familiarity, that I can knock it but if outsiders knock it,well they're ignorant. I lived in Carnforth when it was in decline it's now on the up. I lived in Blackpool yes it's a ******** but the people there in the main are great. First music track I thought here's two Northern Soul fans. Also lovely to see a Springer with a complete tail and I won't apologise for loving Dillon. As always a great mixture of personal feelings, historical information, (for me mine subsidence ruined my bilberry pies) and the ability to put a smile on my face. Made me think of my time living by the canalized River Wey in Guildford. This episode brought back memories of many places. Cheers.
Aww, we used to love Blackpool. We nearly moved there in the mid 90's, very close to Bloomfield Road but the house was falling to bits so we changed our minds 😂
Going on a narrowboat holiday is something that's been on my bucket list for a long time. We have nothing like that here in the U.S. I'm afraid if I tried it I might like it and not want to stop.
Hurrah! Electric locks!........oh the humanity! ............I could manage them. 😁 “Glittery doodoo”?😂😂😂 am off to throw up. Lovely to see you fellas. Enjoy your home turf. 😘😘
Marvelous video as always, great footage, well edited, very much enjoyed your outages, personal and so much fun. Please keep going gents. Warmest regards from Chris and Denise in Abu Dhabi
Hello my lovelies, Fran here. Thank you for a lovely video. As I type Rich is eyeing up the second pack of fruit pastels of the evening! Your expression Colin at the thought of family visiting..... priceless. Hope we collide soon, Jess wants to make friends with Dillon xxx
Hi guy's, Just come across your channel and must say loving the few videos we've seen. Totally hooked and will be watching your journey from the beginning. Keep up the great work 😍
This was nice to see, an older vlog, the days before covid and seeing Dylan again was lovely. enjoyed the live chat last week, but had to cut it short as needed to cook, hope Crick went well, look forward to the next vlog. thank you guys for sharing the Love!!.x.
This was a lovely video. The banter and love between the two of you, your interesting commentary about the journey, and the lovely scenery always make the day better, even when I’m having a hard time. Thank you both so very much for sharing your travels with us!
I had to wait an extra 24 hours to get my silver foxes fix... looking after grandkids etc .. Worth the wait, our handsome fellas..(obviously I include Dillon in that)! Honestly Colin, have you actually done presenting in the past, because I have to tell you, my husband and I think that you’re so professional and polished. And Shaun my darling, you are so funny and utterly adorable. Most have been scary with that idiot trying to get on your boat 😱 So... question please... having a new narrow boat.. do you get as many spiders as you would on an older boat? And do you get really big spiders?? Guy whisked me away to Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire last weekend for our anniversary and I have to say, when you eventually get to the Avon, do moor up and have a mooch round, it’s gorgeous! Well, hopefully by now Dillon’s had his teeth done and is back to his happy little self! And boys.. keep on ‘gaying down the river’... love you both to bits xxxxx. (Ps..the ad that just played through was for a movie called ‘The Informer’,.....looks brilliant) xxxxxx
Hey guys! I have worked in radio for a few years so maybe that's why I carry the presenter part off. It wasn't too scary because the guy was drunk and harmless. Just a silly bugger 😂 Yes, we get spiders, although we've changed our mushroom vents to slim ones with mesh to stop them coming in from above, so that might slow them down a little. Dillon recovered well and he's happy as Larry again now, and he has fresher puppy breath! xxx
Foxes Afloat Ahh...bless Dillon’s ickle socks. Nothing quite like dog breath, (apart from cat breath...but you have to be quite close)! Ooh, so that’s why you’re so brilliant at your presentation! And of course, Shaun. Is an amazing partner in your vlogs. So, slim mushroom vents and mesh it will be then. ....and lots of peppermint oil and chestnuts! I hate spiders😱 But love foxes 😁 xxxxxx
Hi Guys It's always entertaining and informative coming along with you . Love the video, and seeing you happy . I know it's impossible to always be happy but being with the one person that truly cares makes life a great voyage. Again thank you for sharing your life with us .😀😀🚣. Craig
Hi guys my husband has just decided to retire after 25 yrs in the police service and 25 yrs as a security supervisor so next month that’s hi. Working all hours of day and night 12 hour shifts , me I retired in 2005 after thirty years as a registered nurse , following a car accident I broke my neck very lucky for me I had immediate surgery but I lost sensation in my fingers and my neck was plated and screws so my neck movement is limited so yes we have had a varied life a busy life we couldn’t have children however we have Siamese cats two my eldest is 21 yrs old he’s diabetic but he’s a happy boy our other is 9 so he keeps simba young ! Great video as usual regards liz x
One day at a time Collin, much love and many more successes to the pair of you. I now live in Canada trained as a nurse in Preston many years ago I’ve been binge watching all week.
Dunno why people think we're gay.... lol.. Colin, i'm your age and have lost count of the times i get asked; (usually medical situations) Are you single? NO. Ok, whats your wife's name? Mark....😎 certainly stops people in their tracks.... I for one think you should get a giant sparkly silver stiletto with matching train like the one from Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Put it on the roof of Silver Fox and go back down the Thames under Tower Bridge... that'd get your viewership up...😆
I've just read that St Aidan's was a working mine site at the time of the flooding. How fortunate that the forces of the universe chose to spare life and limb. Thanks for another great cruise. The saucy out takes, absolutely classic.
@@FoxesAfloat they filmed the Walking dead there, saved a fortune on make up😂i lived there for a yr when i was 27 or so.first time i walked in the local i got punched before i got to the bar👿👿i battered 3 of them then bought a drink,i got pretty much left alone after that lol one said to me once,i didnt know you were mates with Lee Duffy and Pete Hoe,(both stabbed to death) just said i dont need them but i can ring them if you want😂😂 oh no he said lol i wasnt mates with then really but pete worked the doors and used to ask me to watch his back sometimes.Yup a rathole,i was glad to move away
Once again chaps a wonderful vlog. It is nice to see the areas that are reclaimed by nature and have since become something beautiful again. Thank you for the videos I sincerely look forward to them
What can we say, another fantastic video and thank you for bringing back our memories of Castleford. We moored there for nearly a week. Really love the videos.
I watch the educational bit and learn what sinks in...then giggles and laughter set about me at the outtakes ...😂...ps hope every thing goes well for Captain Dillion😁
I think I probably enjoyed this vlog just about more than any of your previous ones. Actually laughed out loud several times - then had to explain to my family why I was laughing !! 😎😎 Hope Colin has fully recovered from his recent heatstroke. All the very best guys.
You are so lucky to have all this opportunity to see your beautiful country this way. I have to say I’m a bit jelly. 💗💗💗 I love the UK. Done 3 trips and seen it the way a local would except this way. 💗💗💗 slowly catching up on your videos. Love you guys 💗💗
Watching all the outtakes has made me realise that Shaun is Bert and Colin is Ernie 😂

Have a good one, Joe! x
You have been together for years?!? I thought this was your honeymoon! You guys are so good together, I thought it was still new and shiny relationship
Haha! No. Almost 27 years
Hi guys that was fascinating story of the river flooding the quarry you look at all the devastation when they were repairing it and then you look at it now with all the trees lining it you would never know anything that happened fantastic well done good story
Thanks, Ron!
Good people come from our area ❤️❤️
Also not a lot of good people! 😂 But we won't mention to much of them!
Wow you 2 just get better looking with age loved this vlog and love you guys a big hug for Dillon a glittery NOO NOO the mind bogles here in Australia but I think I figured it out extra hug for Dillon when he gets his teeth out:))))
Haha! Maybe best not to try and figure it out 😂 We'll go too far one day 👊🏻 Have a lovely weekend! x
Why am I now addicted to this channel 🤣
🤣
@@FoxesAfloat love your channel...keep up the good work
You two are the greatest, always happy and laughing, please never change and always take care of one another. Love and hugs to both. x
Thank you. We'll try!
Ah that explains TRAAAAAAAINS from Colin, he worked on the railway’s!
👍🏻👍🏻
Beautifully shot and edited video, as always. This was a particularly fascinating vlog, with the sequences through Leeds and on the Aire & Calder. Great commentary from Colin, as always, and you guys make us feel so welcome as we travel along with you. And thanks for sharing something from your earlier lives. What can I say? I look forward to Fridays and the publication of the Foxes Afloat vlog!
Aww, thanks, Barney!
Great video as usual! Was great seeing you in your younger days. I had no idea that you guys have been together that long. Wouldn't mind hearing more about your history together if you are ever in the mood to share....
I'm sure we'll tell more as the episodes go on. x
Pamela Wiggins bloke?
Yeah, literally climbed over the canvas cover to get in 😂
Really getting a lot of inspiration from your Vlogs ! I’m wading my way through on them gradually , as I’ve only recently started watching .
So well done guys ! Big congrats 🎉 Lester in Croydon .
Our pleasure. Thanks! 👍🏻💜
I quite liked this one. I loved the drone shots! I almost wet my self laughing at the outtakes! Another great one Colin and Shaun! Can't wait until next Friday! Mark from Colorado xx
You 'quite' liked it...!?!?! Haha! Thanks, Mark 👍🏻
I was hoping my comment would get a laugh 😂 It’s great! I forgot to say it was cool to see the old pictures as well.
@@FoxesAfloat If you visited Blackpool between 1987 and 2000 our paths may have crossed. Best wishes to all aboard the Silver Fox.
Going on a narrowboat holiday is something that's been on my bucket list for a long time. We have nothing like that here in the U.S. I'm afraid if I tried it I might like it and not want to stop.
Duck Landes Actually the trent severin system in Ontario is quite similar
Where's the harm in trying? 👍🏻
Hurrah! Electric locks!........oh the humanity! ............I could manage them. 😁 “Glittery doodoo”?😂😂😂 am off to throw up. Lovely to see you fellas. Enjoy your home turf. 😘😘
Glittery noo-noo! 😂😂😂 Thanks, Rachel ❤️
Marvelous video as always, great footage, well edited, very much enjoyed your outages, personal and so much fun. Please keep going gents. Warmest regards from Chris and Denise in Abu Dhabi
Thank you ❤️ Hope you’ve got better weather than us in Abu Dhabi 🤣
I tad hot over here, looking forward to the winter and less air con x
Hello my lovelies, Fran here. Thank you for a lovely video. As I type Rich is eyeing up the second pack of fruit pastels of the evening! Your expression Colin at the thought of family visiting..... priceless. Hope we collide soon, Jess wants to make friends with Dillon xxx
Haha! Everyone is craving Fruit Pastilles tonight 😂 If you knew my family you'd understand 🙄 I'll DM you about where we are now 👍🏻 xxxxxxxxxx
Hi guy's, Just come across your channel and must say loving the few videos we've seen. Totally hooked and will be watching your journey from the beginning. Keep up the great work 😍
That's lovely, Geoff, and WELCOME! x
This was nice to see, an older vlog, the days before covid and seeing Dylan again was lovely.

Glad you enjoyed it, Crick is on the 20th August xx

Great vlog guys.
Thanks, Tim. x
This was a lovely video. The banter and love between the two of you, your interesting commentary about the journey, and the lovely scenery always make the day better, even when I’m having a hard time. Thank you both so very much for sharing your travels with us!
Always a pleasure! x
Most have been scary with that idiot trying to get on your boat 😱
So... question please... having a new narrow boat.. do you get as many spiders as you would on an older boat?
Just a silly bugger 😂
Yes, we get spiders, although we've changed our mushroom vents to slim ones with mesh to stop them coming in from above, so that might slow them down a little.
I hate spiders😱
But love foxes 😁 xxxxxx
I love you two & Dillon - brilliant vlog - I look forward to it every week!!! Here’s to the next 3 months. X
Thanks, Isabel! x
Three months? No, no that’s quite wrong. Here in “TH-cam-catch-up-bingeland” it’s only been about 10 days!! See you soon in the future!
Haha! Only 19 to go 👍🏻
I do love the outtakes! They always make me smile!
😂💜😛
Hope Dillon gets over his ordeal quickly ;-)
Thank you Rob. After not talking to us for two days, Dillon has now fully recovered. xx
Hi Guys It's always entertaining and informative coming along with you . Love the video, and seeing you happy . I know it's impossible to always be happy but being with the one person that truly cares makes life a great voyage. Again thank you for sharing your life with us .😀😀🚣. Craig
Thank you, Craig. Have a lovely weekend
Aww, how will you cope with him around all the time? 😂 Sorry about your accident 💜💜💜
I am so glad you guys move on the boat! I just love you guys❤
Awww, thanks so much, Albert! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I feel really guilty......I actually thought you were both mancs , sorry :)
My home town, I know what you mean about leaving :(
Thanks! 👍🏻
One day at a time Collin, much love and many more successes to the pair of you. I now live in Canada trained as a nurse in Preston many years ago I’ve been binge watching all week.
Thanks, Linda 💜
Dunno why people think we're gay.... lol.. Colin, i'm your age and have lost count of the times i get asked; (usually medical situations) Are you single? NO. Ok, whats your wife's name? Mark....😎 certainly stops people in their tracks.... I for one think you should get a giant sparkly silver stiletto with matching train like the one from Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Put it on the roof of Silver Fox and go back down the Thames under Tower Bridge... that'd get your viewership up...😆
Haha! That might work x
I've just read that St Aidan's was a working mine site at the time of the flooding. How fortunate that the forces of the universe chose to spare life and limb. Thanks for another great cruise. The saucy out takes, absolutely classic.
Yeah, it was pretty spectacular when it burst. All good now 👍🏻
Worst place in Britain to live😂😂look up Grangetown in Middlesbrough lads, its like Baghdad 😂😂😂
Oh God, really? 😂
This was a great episode. I learned a lot. Thanks for all your narration. Hope Dylan is doing well. Cheers.
Thanks, Deb. Dillon's fine 👍🏻
Once again chaps a wonderful vlog. It is nice to see the areas that are reclaimed by nature and have since become something beautiful again. Thank you for the videos I sincerely look forward to them
Thansk, Steve! See you next week 👍🏻
Loving the continued history of the area. Brilliant. 💜❤️💜
Thanks, Supergran! x
What can we say, another fantastic video and thank you for bringing back our memories of Castleford. We moored there for nearly a week. Really love the videos.
Thanks, Christopher! It ain't a bad place after all 👍🏻
I watch the educational bit and learn what sinks in...then giggles and laughter set about me at the outtakes ...😂...ps hope every thing goes well for Captain Dillion😁
Dillon is fine. He fully recovered and is back to eating biscuits 😂
I think I probably enjoyed this vlog just about more than any of your previous ones. Actually laughed out loud several times - then had to explain to my family why I was laughing !! 😎😎
Hope Colin has fully recovered from his recent heatstroke. All the very best guys.
Hey, Stephen 👋
Yeah, I'm totally fine now. We'll go too far one day, I bet you! 😂
Another brilliant vlog! I wish Dillon a speedy painless recovery. You guys crack me up 🤣 🤗🌈 look forward to meeting your ‘wives’ someday 👍🏾👍🏻👏🏽
We might have to drag up and pretend to be the wives one day 😂
Foxes Afloat lol that is exactly what I imagined 🎊 tattooed wives 🤣

You are so lucky to have all this opportunity to see your beautiful country this way. I have to say I’m a bit jelly. 💗💗💗 I love the UK. Done 3 trips and seen it the way a local would except this way. 💗💗💗 slowly catching up on your videos. Love you guys 💗💗
It is a great country. 💜
I love the older picture of you two! You both look so cute!
😊 thank you
