I haven't been to Magic Mountain in like 25 years.. The last time I went I remember having so much fun and eating Funal cake.. Now that the grandchildren are old enough to enjoy the park I would like to take them for a day of fun.. ❣

According to park employees, the Laughing Dragon building has undergone a number of renovations this past spring/summer. This includes new electrical work, plumbing, and pest control. The dining area has also been shrink-wrapped, which suggests that new equipment may be being installed and further renovations will happen soon? But obviously nothing aesthetically has been changed yet, so time will tell. I hope it's not just for Fright Fest lol, that would be the lamest thing ever.
I think if they allocate more business up there (and taking some away from near the entrance), the area would be much more bustling, forcing visitors to head up the hill. But obviously the park (and Six Flags as a whole) has been struggling extra hard for the past few years, with aesthetic improvements probably not being priority. With how _awful_ the area looks though (and lower park attendance persisting even with new attractions), let's hope they're finally realizing that smaller things like this greatly help in guest attraction, and finally tackling this area that's been in a similar depressing state for over a decade will have some merit.
But I haven't gone to MM since late 2021 because of the weird closures and many rides only using one train, that was really annoying for me. It could be maintenance costs at fault, or lack of employees available? Whatever it is it's a really bad look, and while I know similar issues are being seen at other Six Flags parks, MM is the largest one and where these issues I feel are most visible.

It’s not just magic mountain that is struggling in the six flags chain

The fact that Magic Mountain’s most popular coasters such as X2, Twisted colossus, Tatsu and Full Throttle almost always run 1 train (basically 2 on twisted colossus) Yet I can always count on one of the least popular rides in the park, Viper to be running at max capacity is crazy

    • @M-NL2
      @M-NL2  ปีที่แล้ว +5

For real, like I legit don't understand the reason for running 2 on viper when the park is so empty, meanwhile the actual popular rides struggle at 1 train 😭

Riddler actually opened I believe on Sunday. I'm heading over there tomorrow so I'm excited to ride Riddler for the first time in like 6 years.

For some reason riddlers has been closing and then reopening a lot recently. Since magic mountain is my home park I do go quite frequently, but sometimes I only go for a few hours because most coasters are closed. Something’s been up with the park and it sucks. I miss the days when you could almost ALWAYS get on every ride you wanted to. But now if you’re lucky you can get on half the rides you wanted to, because most are shut down. Kinda sucks.

Magic Mountain is such a big park but I feel like they should be putting more effort into making it look good for example, while you were in the scream queue line its very suspicious looking with chain link fences and such.

I agree with you. Even though the quality of Magic Mountain hasn’t been the best, I’m not going to be hating on it. I’m also optimistic that the quality of magic mountain will change. Because who wants to wait long hours just to ride revolution, or X2? I don’t know about you, but I feel like six flags magic mountain is like my second home away from home.

I last went over a year ago and Sunday the ride was still running only one side. I wish they could run them both simultaneously. I think your main concerns are concerns many enthusiasts share, so it’s not “hating” on the park. The new CEO is driving it into the dirt IMO. They’re charging more and giving us less. The season passes used to include admission to all parks and parking at all parks when you got the gold pass. Now you have to spend nearly twice as much to get those perks. There haven’t been any improvements in the food offerings, ride ops, or park maintenance overall, and it’s a real shame.

  • @justarandomname8796

I really hope the new ceo can fix the chain up

SFMM is such a weird park to me because it's both one of my favorite and least favorite parks at the same time.
It's obviously got a long list of coasters that includes great rides like X2, Tatsu, and Twisted Colossus. But man.. you can't talk about this park without mentioning a simple fact. It's trashy.
Everywhere you go, the park just feels very run down and dirty. I remember walking into a bathroom and being shocked to find all kinds of stains on the tiles and even a broken mirror. There's not nearly enough shade and fans in the ques to keep guests cool. Their free water fountains have a very weird taste, forcing you to pay for a drink because you WILL need it after climbing up and down that mountain. And there's basically no theming for a vast majority of the rides. I really feel like SF isn't making the most out of their IPs, and I know many others will agree as well. A lot of people hate on Scream for being a parking lot coaster, but the problem goes far beyond that as well. The only ques that were even memorable in the entire park were obviously Superman and maybe Goliath.
I really feel like instead of building a new coaster for 1 year, they should just allocate that budget towards various QOL changes around the park. Because for years and years it just felt extremely unwelcoming and it's obvious that they do not care about their guests' experience. It really makes me sad because there's so much potential and the rides are still a lot of fun.

Yeah I took my girlfriend and her kid and their friends to Magic Mountain last Christmas...it was the worst day I have had there since 1996 when it was gang ridden...
The rides were all running 1 train, the food service was atrocious with people not doing their jobs and milling around. All the lines were massively long all day...Definitely was short staffed and it showed to everyone there. My girlfriend will NEVER go back there now...but I still will occasionally...but NOT in the summer when its 90+ lol , the heat+long lines just no thanks...Will go back for Fright Fest

So I don’t want to be hatin but last time I went there witch was like a month ago it was super hot and I wanted to get one of those frozen lemonades so I went to go get one but the staff working at the stand DID NOT KNOW HOW TO WORK THE MACHINE so that is not his fault because staffing really isn’t doing a good job teaching them

The complaints that you have with magic mountain are also problems with other six flags parks like sfgam has the same problem with closed rides or running one train.
