Truth be told, they really don’t need another roller coaster right now since they barely even open half of their current rides due to staffing issues. What they need to be doing is improving the park itself by fixing the parking lot like you said and update some of the areas like Samurai Summit.
For an alternative entrance (or exit only), sure. But they'd have to relocate so many front gate things like Guest Relations, gift shop, etc. And the current entrance plaza is just way too iconic.
Maybe as an extra exit so you can grab a quick ride before leaving and not having to walk 2 miles to get out and back to your car - but there isn’t remotely enough space to accommodate a pre-opening crowd
If they make a gigs in vipers spot it better be groundbreaking bc as someone who gone to magic mountain forever I’ve learned to appreciate viper and it’s a powerhouse. Like we need a giga with at least one inversion or something
Right. Exactly what I mentioned at the start of the video. At least in terms of the solar panels. But I wouldn't put it past Six Flags to install the new panels and not repave the entire parking lot. Much like how roads in LA keep getting patched.

I feel like if the park was to add a giga coaster, I think that it would start where tidal waves last turn would've been, then the lift hill would go over superman's launch and over the entire hill, drop into a tunnel next to the full throttle plaza, go over the old pathway where you used to get to flashback, into the front entrance, goes around in a goliath (over georgia) style helix with a couple of airtime hills and back to where it started. And they could make it go up 350 feet. But that's just me, and I think it's a spot that nobody sees that could have some potential. But that's just my opinion, what do you think about the idea
7:50 that's the area that I think that the giga coaster could start and end, if anyone is confused about what I mean about tidal waves last turn around
SFMM doesn't even have enough staff to open 5 or 6 rides every day now, not to mention the other rides run skeleton screws. A bunch of food places are not open also because no staff. The fact they are even considering new stuff shows just how poorly they run the park & chain. Get enough people to open what you have before adding stuff that will take even more people.
Yeah, another dark ride would be great. But it was shocking enough they got one! I can't see them getting a second. More water rides too. But they keep removing them.
I think I’ve said this before but , I have the perfect dark ride for magic mountain. A joker themed ride for the park would be great for the park and mm is the only six flags without one. That is why I feel a vekoma madhouse ride themed to the joker would be an amazing fit for the park. The chain already has Houdinis Great Escape at some parks. This ride themed as Lets say “ Jokers Escape from Arkham Asylum” would be great. It’s not a huge investment ride and with a little theming in the pre show and building it could be a flagship joker ride. I love the version of the madhouse at great adventure and feel this refresh/ brand version would be great for magic mountain.
I would love to see an indoor S&S AXIS coaster. Could easily be either space themed or deep sea themed and really take advantage of the car design and do some amazing theming.
With Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift coming, Magic Mountain should be VERY scared. They are going to need a new thrill coaster that can possibly outrival Drift. A giga, B&M (or even Intamin, but likely not) could possibly beat Universal's new coaster.
Not really. Magic Mountain and Universal aren’t really competing with each other as they focus on different things. Magic mountain is for the roller coaster and thrill seekers. Universal is a destination park focused on experiences and themed attractions.
Giga, if taking out Viper, would need to go across the entrance to showcase it, like X2. They would need to figure out how to include the loops & corkscrews In homage to Viper.

MM's entry fountain used to be different---or its geysers were turned up way higher. Don't recall when the 6 flagpoles surrounding it were added, but they (& now that they're a black color) make the area look more janky than in MM's past. The place also has too many overly wide concrete pathways, which are more brutal when shade is lacking & also too spacious unless attendance is of mega-theme-park popularity. Six Flags is caught between a rock & hard place, however. Lots of coaster fans aren't big sticklers about theming & many theme-park fans don't prefer coasters over dark rides. MM also needs a fairly high number of customers to cover costs, & more new coasters & improved looks or theming may not do enough for that.
SFMM is badly laid out in general. The park entrance should be in between scream and twisted colossus, but they make you go so damn far to get into the park
honestly to me, I like SFMM better. Sure the lineup is a little better at CP, however the short season and huge lines kind of ruins it for me. I like CP but there are like a half dozen parks I would rather go to simply because of the daytime experience.
I really wouldn't mind a giga replacing viper, as long as the ride is record breaking and a really good one at that, I think it could live up to the name and plot of land viper once was.

But the only one that could be removed specifically for a Giga is Goliath. So ya if there building a giga then I think Goliath's life is about to come to an end

Why believe a Twitter post when it's probably somebody trollin'?
IF Magic Mountain is thinking of a Giga, I have no doubt in my mind it will be a B&M. Intamin is out (I like then, but the Six Flags chain does not).
This tease is frustrating, do It, or don't. The wildcard for me is an RMC T-Rex.
Magic Mountain, whatever they do, needs to step up their game if they want to remain, "The Thrill park capital of the WORLD."
AMEN
Perhaps. But the same thing was said about Intamin after the Superman disaster. But they went back to them for Lex and Green Lantern. Time heals.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork, I would LOVE it if Intamin was the manufacturer of another giga.
Yup, Fury Is the best Giga but a new-gen intamin Giga would be amazing im sure
What a disappointment in the appearance of this park. Never been to this park but have been to the one in Texas and many times in Georgia. It appears that Six Flags has budget problems in maintaining the beautiful parks that I remember in years past.
Over Texas and over Georgia are beautiful parks! Magic Mountain used to be. And still can be again. Just needs a lot of work.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork If you think those are beautiful parks your bar is very low.,
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Grobble has nothing better to do except troll every Six Flags video he sees...that's his pastime. Don't take anyone serious who's afraid to show his face.
They didn't say a Giga roller coaster...... I have a feeling we are going to see a Giga Star Flyer.
they can't build a star flyer because of earthquakes and evacuation procedures it would be too difficult and complicated they announced it back at an ACE event
@themeparklunatic9227 what ACE event? Were you there? If it was West Coast ACErs I was there too!
But has the term "giga" ever been used to describe anything other than a coaster? Or "hyper" for that matter?
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Zamperla GIGA Discovery
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Giga Discovery?
Six Flags Corp and MM don't listen to the fans, just like movie makers, basic ideas that die hard fans scream for years, 1st shade n moist sprays on all the rides, 50% more benches I mean u don't have to look too hard but benches are needed everywhere, a giga or anything.. Will be within the park, land acquisition from MM is not possible bc funding not negotiable, so I garente it's going to be behind the old theater, a sm ride will go where title wave wag, MM Southside w roaring rapids never gets enough attention bc there's nothing over there, the sky tower been sitting technically since 01, open closed open closed, the 94 quake damaged the elevator yet it's takes them over 15ys to consider fixing it, the fans want it but MM and Corp don't, yall wonder y most rides are closed on the weekdays, bc the save money by not staffing these attractions, the Chinese restraunts by superman n ninja been there since the 70s, it's poor park management, yall need to youtube the history of MM to observe how many owners have dumped on this empire, the trams HVNT ran for 5ys not 4321, armed security is absolutely needed, walk tru detection like Disneyland will not stop fights or riots, lasd is not stationed there, there needs to be more or daily charicters entertaining, WE NEVER C THEM ANYMORE
Why does Six Flags(or some snotty nosed geek troll who WORKS at Six Flags) keep doing this?
Hopefully because it's true this time? Lol.
Does anyone even use twitter ?
Some Musky guy.
SFMM getting a giga would be nice but imo they really don’t need it, they have a lot of great coasters and other parks desperately need something big for example SFOT or SFSL
We just need a giga on the west coast. And if anyone is going to do it , sfmm would.
They are not getting a giga. Theme parks love to troll on social media. I'm thinking giga star flyer
Star flyer will never be built at SFMM
I don't recall the term "giga" or even "hyper" being used to describe anything other than a coaster.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork SFMM literally has a non-coaster flat ride. Crazanity is a Zamperla Giga Discovery
B&M Rollercoasters are average imo
What's your favorite manufacturer?
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Arrow Dynamics
ever since 2006 I've had my eye on viper and the picnic pavilion it never made any sense to me because they only use the picnic pavilion once or twice a year so it's time for that area to be put to use with a new ride and new area was for the sky tower I hope they can get it back open I truly miss going up there it's so unique to the park
And they could totally keep using the Picnic Pavilion with a coaster built over.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork very true would make a coaster photography dream right there
Extend Baja Ridge to the picnic area....with and Overia Street/authentic Spanish type theme.
