You might be wondering why I called this a Giovanola bobsled in the title. This ride was sold by Intamin but Intamin didn't actually start engineering and building their own rides until the 90s. They were mainly a brokerage firm for other manufacturers up until that point.
Bro, from the bottom of every thrillseeker heart, I believe I can speak. Thank you for this awesome moment of silence tribute and doing 100 times more than Six Flags did for us!
Back in the early 2000’s, I remember watching the music video for “Hey Soul Sister” in the queue line for this ride. Everytime I hear that song, I think of this ride, and I think of watching it on the tv that they originally had installed on the path to the right of the big tv @ 2:10. Weird, fond memory. Underrated ride and experience. Thanks for the video.
It's kind of crazy how your brain will draw connections like that. I always associate the first two Linkin Park albums with driving to Phoenix from DFW
The countless memories I have of going on this as a kid growing up... with family, friends.. so much fun, thank you for paying it it's deserved tribute.
So sad, by the beginning of 2023 there where still 2 in operation. Now they are all gone! I did the Bob at Efteling in 2007 and 2015. The layouts are nothing special, with all the blocks, but they where such unique rides. R.I.P.
Thank you… we always made it a point to ride this rare attraction whenever we visit SFoT. Were fortunate to have said goodbye to Alpine Bobsleds at Great Escape. Really wish we would have been able to say goodbye to this one, too but thankful that we showed it some love last visit 😢
I unfortunately never made it to to great escape to ride it. I could have gone up when they gave us the heads up but I already had so many other trips planned that year
I still remember that Bob from Efteling. The Same Track, Station and Cars was built there too... sadly demolished 4 Years ago too. Intamin did not produce any spare Parts anymore so thats the Reason they said Goodbye to such an Classic. Yes, Mack Rides also has a Bob Coaster, but its not as good as the Intamin Bob. There are 6 to 8 Cars mounted after each other and you dont get such a nice Bob Feeling, the Sliding in the Track or the Speed....
Yeah, lol. Not many people can say they were the last ever to ride an extinct ride model so I jumped on that opportunity. I do wish the ride was sent off with more fanfare but the company/park didn't want to announce it and it wasn't my place to do it for them.
I'm glad too. I feel lucky to have been in the position to be able to know of the closure and take advantage of it and get a final ride. I wish others could have done the same but leaking something the park won't announce is just something I can't do.
I did the one at kings Dominion. Did not have a good time on it but it was entirely my fault for letting someone whose much wider than me be directly in front of me on the inline seating. Oh god the pain from being forced to do the splits when they started sliding back lmao.
Kind of crazy how long this lasted. But for many years I've heard of plans to replace it that have never come to fruition. But finally something is happening that I think many people will be excited about.
They need to remove that Larson Loop first….. those things are garbage. Gotta hate the Cedar Fair execs running around removing rides people actually like.
@@joeo that is not the same ride model. La Vibora was the last of the ones built by Giovanola/Intamin and they're known for their singular ride vehicles. The one at black pool pleasure beach is built by Mack rides and uses long trains instead of individual bobs.

I expect this.
So Giovanola made the Intamin Looping Starship flat ride.
La Vibora was actually a fun ride. The capacity though was not good.
@aldoparise1224 not %100 sure on that
My brother said La Vibora was unnecessarily rough and either needed retracking or an outright removal.
@@richmountain1128 i also was not much of a fan of the ride personally
The opening shot saying “(s)pain” is so real
me panning over to get the "s" in frame was me noticing that the framing I started with was just "PAIN" lol
Thanks for sharing this!!!!
I feel like it's a small moment in history worth remembering

I am so glad I got to ride this before it closed
It's always interesting to think about what rides will end up just being stories we tell other younger coaster enthusiasts as we get older
heavy on that griddy 0:30
the real star of the show

My only experience with Bob is watching POVs sadly
Those are some pretty nice bragging rights

La vibora caused me Spain without the S

Rip to the car crash simulator coaster, wish I could’ve gotten one last ride on it, but I ain’t mad it’s leaving

I’m sad I’ll never get to experience an intamin bobsled they looked so based
based on what?

RIP to this wonderfully janky but horribly low capacity ride. Surprised it lasted longer than Great Escape's

where was this announced by the park?
@@TrainCoasterFan it wasn't. But it has become clear to people outside of the park so I figured I would be clear enough to make this video public
It’s on RCDB
Those rides look fun but kind of suck.
