Back in day my friends and I would eat lunch there. We ate there since it was indoors which was a great break during the summer, it was a pizza joint so we could buy a family pizza and share it so it was cheaper than a normal meal. However no one knew about it so it was always empty, don't know how well a restaurant would do up there today. That could be different if they build that area up with flat rides and stuff. I wish they would do a crazy zipline off the Tower and down the mountain, that would be epic.
The Skytower did not fail an inspection...little do people know, Six Flags used the Skytower to trap Mr Six...and he is up there still, to this day...dancing...if he ever is allowed to come back down and be free...it will be one of the triggers for the Apocalypse! (not the ride!)
Before it was Laughing Dragon, it was known as the Four Winds. And briefly, it was also a Papa John's (or a Shakey's, I don't completely remember). The abandoned building across from it is the defunct Eagles Flight station. One side would take you to the back lot where Riddler's Revenge now sits, and the other side would take you to where the base of Superman is (where that restaurant is under it). I remember getting to ride one of them back in 1993 before the big earthquake happened. Although they technically could have fixed it (by the time I rode it, only the one going to the base of where Superman now sits was up; the other side had been taken down long ago due to an incident of some sort), they decided they didn't feel like spending the money to do so, and ended up tearing it down. This was also when Psyclone became the travesty that it became. It was never the same after the earthquake (very violently jerky, barely making it through the layout, what a treat that was lol), and trying to add those B&M trains to make it "smoother", lol horrible decision. They eventually just kept the trains and used them to run Colossus backwards during Halloween seasons. And now, they just sit in storage since Twisted is now there and no need or use for the trains. Used to be able to still see them when entering the loading station for Scream. You could look back and see them sitting there. But idk if that has changed by now. Haven't been since 2021. Wanted to go last year but just didn't have the time. I'll try to go this year tho. Also, I'd love to see them finally do something with the lower Dragon station across from Gold Rusher (that big gazebo thing across from Jet Stream's entrance). That station has sat abandoned since either the late 70s or early 80s. The upper station is now Ninja's loading station but the lower station is just... there. Would make a great shaded seating area or SOMETHING else useful. Even some of the old track from Dragon is still there since they practically built Ninja directly over it. You can see some of the old concrete track if you look down when going up Ninja's final lift hill. I wanna say to the left of it. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what they end up doing with Samurai Summit. It hasn't changed very much since the park opened as far as adding anything new. Other than Superman I guess, but even that was in the 90s. At some point, it was one of the most beautiful areas of the park, complete with gardens and all. Now almost everything up there is abandoned or just in disrepair or both. Sad to see. But I hope this is a sign that they're planning to breathe some life back into the area. Make that brutal trip up the hill worth it. lol.
What magic mountain needs to do: Reopen sky tower Update samurai summit Tear down Goliath and make a better version of it Get better merch Improve themeing, especially jn queues but really just everywhere cuz the best rides with theming are probably Batman and drop of doom
Yes, that restaurant used to the The Four Winds Steak House. I remember eating there I. The 80s. It was actually a nice restaurant and there was always a line to get in. I guess after it was a pizza place and now it’s abandoned. There is another building that used to be a food stand but it’s also been closed for years. You can still see the tables are chairs with umbrella on the patio. They do still keep up the landscaping up there but it’s hard to enjoy it with Ninja closed. And yes the Dragon station has been there abandoned for as long as I can remember. There used to be a ride called the spin out and the spinning barrels next to it. I never knew exactly what that gazebo thing was. I don’t know why there is no restaurants up there like there used to be. I suppose it’s because before they used to be the eagles flight and the dragon that took people up there. The funicular still runs but not all the time! The walk up that hill is pretty brutal. I suppose the restaurants closed because there isn’t a lot of foot traffic up there.
5:57 Yesterday while riding Scream, I saw Flash's seats are sitting directly under the cobra roll. Half of them are still assembled while the others had the side panels removed and laying flat on the ground. Definitely strange. On the plus side, that same day I say Goliath was running empty trains. Probably testing before it reopens after two months of SBNO. (I like Goliath so that makes me happy to see.)
Ahhh the Old Four Winds Steak House..........Which had really good steak dinners and epic views of the Log Jammer and Metro ......,,the whole front end of the park really.........it had a massive patio for dining which was there the last time I rode Log Jammer for sure because I can remember seeing it and wanting to go out there. The last time I saw it open was around 2000, but I thought it opened for the Fright Fest as one of the mazes?? SkyTower is such a shame for this park to close it for over a decade because of part that cost near a Million, this is what I understand to be wrong with it form an inside source. Not sure if that is the honest to God truth but it came from someone that actually worked there. This multi national corporation sees record breaking profits most years so i would definitely refer to them as six SlumLords. The museum was fantastic at the Top of the SkyTower too, but removed because they did not want to pay a worker minimum wage to monitor the Items that were behind glass, which I was told people were stealing the items. Again this is all "allegedly" but makes sense if you think about it. The iconic Roller Coaster park of Los Angeles ..............sad to see them treat like a BANK.
You must live in my head, don't you? Lol Everything I picture in my head regarding Samurai Summit and its complete makeover comes out on your video. As regards Sky Tower, you just never know....can the recent LAFD marathon up the stairs hint at it's long awaited renovation and reopening? Let's hope for the best!!
Yes the Full Throttle Sports Bar is a sit down restaurant. I believe it’s the only one in the park at this time. Four Winds used to be where Laughing Dragon is and I believe they used the restaurant temporarily for fright fest. They had their buffet up there for guests that paid for it. That was a good idea but I think they stopped doing that a few years ago.
Hello 👋🏻 I’m foreigner and i will be able to spend one day at magic mountain and one day at knott berry farm in august ! Any advise how to organise my visit to enjoy as much as possible in only one day in each park ?
I think the number one tip is to arrive to each park at opening to maximize how many rides you can get on! I work at Knott's and we usually don't get long lines for our rides (except Ghostrider) until abt noon. Same can be said for Magic Mountain! I do also have full videos providing tips and tricks for each of those parks as well if you want me to link them! Hope this helps!
I went to MM thist last week and couldn’t fathom paying $18 for a shitty meal. There was nothing there worth eating. Take some food you will enjoy and go to your car to eat.

That used to be the Four Winds Steak House about forty to fifty years ago when I worked at the Mountain (before Six Flags).
Crazy how long that building has been standing and isn't even used anymore!
I feel like Magic Mountain has amazing rides, but the rest of the park is falling apart. I wish they would maintain it like they do with their rides
Imagine the sky tower became a restaurant
Honestly that would be pretty cool
sunday the ride: the restaurant
100% agree

The other day I noticed that you can still make out "steakhouse" on that old restaurant when riding Full Throttle
yes it used to be the Four Winds Steakhouse before it became The Laughing Dragon Pizza.

I agree with everything besides the theming part since it is pointless
Also, revive 365-day operation
I’m not sure you can just “tear down Goliath” like it’s so easy😂 That ride is huge, and would cost more to remove than is worth it.
@@Johnnyiswhere hmmm true.. maybe a repaint or something? The colors on Goliath are really ugly
@Pup Stuff They could definitely make some changes to the ride, like paint, new trains, brakes and even small changes to the layout.

It's just not Magic Mountain unless Goliath is pumping the blood out of your head.

We just need a giant event to occur at Magic Mountain so then they can reopen it
@@Spidermonkey43 I can see it
Kinda bothers me that Sunday the ride isn't in the DC or metropolis area. They should theme it's own area to something like "Sunday the ride plaza"

was x2 running when you went?
Nope, but it did reopen the very next day
