I mean, with a pretty damn good tank too. Idk how well he would've done with something like a... idk maybe a WZ-120... would've gotten 1 shot and died because of the lack of mobility and armor. In fact I think most of the medium tanks at tier 9 wouldn't have done as well other than the soviet ones >_> (in that situation)

@@mastersanada Oh please, don't mention that wz...I suffered a ton grinding that medium tank. If the wz-120 had been here instead of the T-55, I can say without a doubt that out of 3 shells fired, two are missed either hitting the ground or going above the Chieftain, that's how bad the rng of the wz's gun is. An Obj 430 however is different, it will hit the Chieftain and with 8 seconds reload time it can kill the Chieftain if the player is good with it.

I'd say the WOTC chief is one of the better balenced tanks. Sconq is worse.
nah, it isn't really. it is a worse super-conq on console. A super-conq with medium tank armor and slightly higher DPM. it's mobility is very poor as well, don't let the top speed fool you, the IS-7 (pre-buff) was about as quick as it.
now your IS-7 has something like 2 more HP/t.
this tank doesn't even look as nuts as QB is making it out to be (though the turret is far stronger than the Mk. 6 on console, that is riddled with weak-spots)
this tank has the hull of a medium tank, and mildly worse mobility than most medium tanks, with worse DPM than most medium tanks, and average gun handling for most medium tanks.
really the only thing that is notably strong about it is the GDP+turret armor combo.
MrWuvems chieftain on console is very good but not broken. It’s turret armor doesn’t really work with the amount of weak points it has unless you’re aiming down on enemies on a ridge

The cheiftan on console is strong however it gets ammoracked very easly being its main balancing point and the commanders hatch ontop is penatrated pretty easy even by tier 8 tanks if you actully aim lol but over all console has a very ballanced cheiftan

I played thousands of games before I realised I was never going to be more than seal to club for the guys who seriously slash the cash. It wasn't that I didn't have some fun, but when the best tank you've got fires the equivalent tennis balls against the super premiums, it's time to call it a day.

Geoff, just remember it doesn't matter how good you are, everyone has bad games. Hang in there bud, you'll get better the more you play. Best advise I received that helped me improve was "look at the mini map" I'm looking at the mini map about the same amount of time I'm looking at the game play. Knowing where your team is, the enemy team/last known locations, common locations, firing angles etc. as well as your view range circles will help you out a ton.

I mean sure but please no there was a time where T110E5 still had its own cupola but you could not pen it even with premium rounds it sucked because suddenly a small mobile and light heavy tank with a gun with good stats except alpha was suddenly the best tank in the game for no good reason and an obvious weak spot was just a trap having these op vehicles be limited to rare tanks is better than op flavor of the month tank like we had the years before like Bobject Maus
E5 is just a shit tank. Slow and no side armor even for a tier X it's fucking ridiculous. One shot into the side with my E100 TD and it went up in flames with less than 200 hit points remaining; stayed idle the rest of the match until it was KO's pathetically.
This game truly has a balancing issue that has never been resolved with meta tanks.

@@kosta3930, works in big guns, where you have good HE shells. Put yourself to Super Pershing, Panther II or even E-50 and Donq player probably doesn't notice. And well, with incoming unwanted "rework" of HE Donqs will be immune even for HE shells.

This replay highlights probably a couple of people becoming frustrated and just giving up on the game either after this or at a later date. And while you might be able to say good riddance to anyone like that-enough of this happening will cause that to anyone, even yourself sometimes on your streams you hiatus to LoL for the rest of the day.

He looked pretty resigned to his fate.
Everything the T110E5 did after finishing off the 430 was painful to watch. One more penetration, or even just a few HE-rounds into the turret of the Chieftain could have allowed his team to win the game.

Still, it does take skill to get this far in a game. He made some good decisions that some people just wouldn't make. Just having an OP tank doesn't mean you're gonna be OP, you have to match that with at least some level of brain. Let's imagine if he hadn't used the E5 as a shield against the E50, something which in my opinion only better players would've done, then he wouldn't have won the game. He had good awareness of both where the battle was going and how to change it. Instead of pushing hard into the enemy base, he went back and dropped off the bridge to engage enemies there, for example.

There are plays where your average 500 WN8 player (if thats how we judge people based on skill >_>) simply wouldn't have even thought of and definitely would've died. This guy at the very least is an average (1100 WN8 around) to above-average player. (Once again, only using WN8 to estimate because really most of the times I don't like using it)
Hey QB, like your work, keep it up. I have a suggestion - would you consider commenting while watching the replay for the first time, even maybe with pauses to highlight some plays or whatever catches your eye. Might be interesting to see your first thoughts, wouldnt mind at all if the video would not be as pollished as always. Maybe others would like this as well.

only problem with that is he has no idea if its a replay worth going to the effort of editing, encoding ect, i'm betting only 1 int 10 or 1 in 20 of the replays he watches ends up getting commentary for that exact reason.

@@drbc69 when I go for 3 marks I almost always load mostly gold, because every shot you bounce with standard feels like a waste of time as you've potentially dropped marks just by being cheap. So I understand it here.. But shit like arty loading gold is pathetic

@@drbc69 Don't get me wrong I'd love for a gold ammo nerf, the way I'd do it is limit how much you can take to maybe 20% of loadout, with some tanks having it adjusted accordingly... But in current meta if you're trying to reach a certain goal not firing gold if you can afford it feels like missing out/sacrificing free damage

Tank destroyers such as T110E3, T110E4, 268, and Grille can do that but the question is how do you outplay those guys with your heavy tank armor? -You don't, you just take it and get tracked on the way.
@@luonteri3254 Even with the 2nd iteration of the HE "fix", it will completely nerf the round, useful maybe for cap resetting. Along with the AP "fix", which doesn't address the lack of weak spots, so premium--oh, "special" rounds, will still be needed to pen, so it'll just mean even more gold round spam. Because that will help Wargaming make more money. Until enough more people quit the game.

I have the Chieftain myself, and the answer to your question: yes its overpowered but many people need to realise its also the player who is playing it, if it was released to the whole community it wouldn't be as OP as the 268 4 back in the day w/ regards to win %.
And noone mentions how much balls we had to sweat to get them. Calling in sick for the campaign, taking vacation days, covering for teammates so they could get one...

You can keep these replays. I'd rather see the average player doing something spectacular then a 1-percenter with an exceptionally rare tank. I might be interested if he was in a Sherman or Churchill. Of course those types of replays are probably as rare as the T-95/FV4201.

Couldn't said it better. Unicum using nothing but gold ammo? Totally not my cup of tea. I left the game half a year ago fed up with the gold spam I experienced. Recently I got back but I stand only 10 games: gold spam at my ELC AMX and Cromwell (both known for their superior armor) helped me to decide finally: FY Wargayming!!!! And we should fap to this replay, huh? Nothing spectacular and another promotion of gold spam.

This player is undoubtedly skilled. While the full compliment of gold rounds is disgusting, it is more indicative of the poor state of the game as a whole and no longer demeaning to a player's ability.
Lemmiatem the game is balanced around premium, and for what it it’s u won’t be marking the chieftain without gold. But people seems to ignore the fact this this guy played the game perfectly and just want to shit on him. Human nature I guess, if ur a shit player got to shit on a good one

They think everything is related to gold spam or op tanks but in fact, they’d never be able to do things like this. I often see bad players playing good tanks and spamming gold but i still reck them because I am a much better player. People forget the fact that this game still need a deep knowledge to perform.

I've never played WoT PC, so I dont have any actual game experience, but this map looks like so much fun. All the depressions and ridges and lines of fire from all angles, cant wait to try it out one day

Of course not. But like QB said, if you’re playing one of these, odds are you’re not worried about credits, so why not load all gold and make the tank better.

Meh, not really. Oddly enough, I think its damage output is its biggest weakness; just like the Deathstar and FV4005. Everyone knows how big of a threat it is and how easy it is to kill it, so its immediately a priority target any time its spotted.

E100 is truly a support and long range TD that can bounce off shots with luck. I'm saying with luck because those are the shots that usually end up hitting the front plate. Every arty now knows that an E100 is a priority target for easy XP and kill so it needs that support or its back to the garage within seconds.

for stuff like this to happen you need to have the right amount of luck and skill. this man had both on top of a busted tank. all respect for being cool under pressure but this isnt entertaining for me. pro player, busted tank lashing out with gold, just seems expected that a monster round would happen in a standard plus 2 pub match.
As a player who has it, I don’t play it often because there is are special forgotten people called the no life arty players who focus the special tank all day( also doesn’t help it’s usually 3 arty per team now a days)

This is the meta that has emerged. Well armored hull down meds firing gold while driving in order to have both a dpm advantage because of less aiming time and a tactical advantage due to the consistent damage and the fact that they can reach key positions without stopping to aim for weakspots when encountering enemy armored vehicles on the way
This mechanic turns the game more and more into a egocentric playstyle due to the lack of dependance of your teammates with regards to tactical approach of enemy tanks because u can simply press the 2 key and penetrate from nearly any position you want .
If u are not convinced then please play some ranked battle, this is everything but not teamplay and this is the future of WorldofTanks.

I played my first rank battle yesterday. In first one I was blocked by two allies by sticking up to my back so i couldn't move back after shot. In second one, I was pushed every freaking time while aiming, cause greedy twats wanted to get more dmg. I earned two shewrons, but rank battles are this kind of cancer that u don't get any fun playing it. Instead of it u watch players ramming each other to get xp, like some f.ckin black sunday sales.

Wargaming has done nothing to balance away from that for years, and they're not going to start now.

Reasons why this tank is just flat out broken:
1. Absolutely insane turret armour (like, 400mm at the thinnest part? excluding the super tiny cupola)
2. 10 degrees of gun depression
3. Low profile (this combined with the first 2 make it a god on a ridgeline. Most traditional hulldown tanks only have 1 or 2 out of these 3)
4. Speed (also good hp/t ratio and ground resistances)
5. Decent hull armour with sides of a Russian tank (those magical autobounces)
6. HESH
7. Excellent premium penetration
8. Very decent gun handling for a 120mm heavy
9. 410m viewrange, second highest in the game (for a HEAVY, mind you)
10. Why does this thing have such good camo?
There is not a single thing the T95/FV4201 is "decent" or weak at. Every single stat is very respectable and when a tank doesn't have any weaknesses you get this behemoth that can literally fill any role.
Want to play as a medium? Sure. 410m view range, great camo, decent DPM, nice gun handling, high alpha, speed.
Light tank? Speed and viewrange.

There is one Thing that Destoyed WoT for me. The change that would allow you to buy "Gold ammo" with Credits back in the day if i started playing WoT you was forced to know where to shot a Tank to pen them know you load the "Gold". i played thousands of games untill i knew where to shot something like an IS-4, Maus you name it and now you it´s kinda sad if i drive my E-100 there is only gold apcr or heat hitting my Tank so i decided to stop playing it, this change all this years ago where a bittersweet kinda thing for me it´s bitter i love the challenge to aim at the right spots for others it was a sweet. There is talk on the forums about removing them from competition games because they are unfair to teams that don't have them. Soooooo, maybe WGing should just nerf them and make them fair, or make tier 11.

In the grand term, nerfing it’s gold is more useful for reducing its effectiveness than not because firing gold at its turret and hull is usually useless anyways, it’s really only tanks like the Type 5 or Maus that would be buffed.

Profanity is profanity, and that's definitely okay to ban for. As for insults... well I can definitely see why he would ban people for doing that. @@mastersanada well as i said i didnt insult any one or used profanity, i just questioned his playstyle and suggested a different maneuver in a normal manner and i got banned for that on 2 separate occasions like 2 weeks apart.

He, I played this tank in my very first battle 2 months ago. 6400 damage and defeat...in a tier X battle. This thing is broken as hell and I've played this tank about 15 times already, it's completely game breaking tank but I guess it's ok to reward players for suffering in the CW sometimes. I'm not a superunicum or unicum, I consider myself an average player, I had to work hard in the last campaign to get this thing because I like to collect as many tanks as possible, that's it. I'm still struggling to get even the Chimera lol. Jokes aside, the weaknesses of this tank...please QB, don't joke with us, it's extremely hard to hit that really small cupola from far distances and if this thing is in a hull down pposition you pretty much are finished. Unless the arty hammers this thing, which I ALWAYS do when I use my arty and I spot this thing in the player list, the match can be decided in a few minutes if the player in question is left alone doing 8k damage.

As a Chieftan owner, full gold is almost required. The improvement over standard shells is almost unreal, as they are both the same type. It’s almost pointless lol. As for weaknesses: The upper plate isn’t as strong as people say. If you fire HEAT rounds at it if it’s somewhat flat towards you, they’ll overmatch the angle due to the mechanics of the shell.
Op tank, -2 matchmaking, full gold, why im i not surprised...

@@Stubbari Tho it wasn't skilled. If you played the CW campaign it was rewarded from in Elite tier, all you would see was Type 5 Heavy HE SPAM, obj 273 and 430U/T100LT. We made it to the top 30 and we didn't even get the tank, hell, only the top 20 clans got the tanks

@@CryAboutHEAT Yes it did, if you could crew up 3landings in one night vs a clan that could crew only 2, you had the advantage. Clan leaders could also spend war resources into a clan wide booster. Making the top clans snowball it. There also was alliances protecting certain territories, giving free wins, if you didn't end up in a big alliance you were gooned out of the map. It was especially true in 2015's CW were we literature were 7ckans holding up most of the territories, securing for ourselves first, second and third place on the campaign, other allies were there as a sponge blocking lower end clans.
@@Stubbari Imao, there's literally players with 2000k WN8 52% WR players owning that tank. It all had to do with what clan you were in and how much battles you could enter in each night. CW always ends up in a fucking late night mess and burns out clans/players. It's always the same shit meta.
@@Tsusday I know players that played 3 games each evening, that were not in a 25 clan that still got more than enough fame points to get the tanks. Yes, being in a top clan makes it easier, but saying "only the top 20 clans got tanks" is a straight up lie.

It's still a medium tank with a heavy turret. If you can avoid fighting them when they are Hull down, they are much easier to deal with. Also as arty you need to focus them. They take HE very poorly

It is a pseudo Chieftain MBT after all. It makes sense that it’s faster than a heavy tank. Although if it had the Chieftain hull, it would be a lot slower.
When i saw ammo load oud next
There is a huge difference between players: someone can afford large repair kit, extra consumables (and now extra, purple equipments)... meanwhile others can't. And that's a huuuuge difference.
While my first thought was wow look at all that prem ammo, which I normally hate (especially in a op tank) however he is probably trying to get his marks of excellence in this tank which must be a herculean task. Couple this with the prem shells just being better than the standard as they are both apds I can understand why, also this may just be his go to fun tank.
However great play and this result is not just down to prem shells and hopefully they change them in such a way it is not just to make you fire more prem shells (IE if they lower the damage of prem shells so it just means you have to fire more).
Gold spam deserves a distinct mark of it's own. I propose a potato or the digit "2".
