I’m glad he gave a shout out to the giant beats. I think they are underrated. I get comments about how great they sound. Vintage yet they speak clearly

    • @spangalang

They're soooo good but they don't cut too well in louder music. I broke a 17" crash only about 3 months into using it (6 nights a week though) :-(

I LOVED the ride cymbal Steve used on John Mayer's "Waiting For The World To Change". So jazzy sounding when it came out...like nothing else on pop radio at the time. Had to listen to it over and over just for that ride! I think it was a 22" Traditional light ride...

Steve can do it all. I hear so many influences in his playing. From Stubblefield to Blakey to Philly Joe to Watts. I would love to also hear him on a full set of vintage 602s and some old K’s. He 😅would make that gear sing. With all the pitches he can throw, that B15 alloy on the signature traditionals makes a lot of sense for him. I get why he’s where he is at in the Paiste lineup.

I didn’t even know Wesley Snipes was in jail? Nevertheless...t it’s not indicative of my love for Steve Jordan. I am a big, big fan. He is phenomenal. The zen master as you say. I chase down every video on You tube I can find. And unfortunately there is precious little. So yes I agree and hang my head in shame at a poor attempt at humour. Just an amazing drummer. Certainly in my top 3 of contemporary drummers.
