12:57. One of the best songs in video games.
It's my favorite. It's so nostalgic, it's like a punch from the 90s
15:23 And now, the song everyone came to this video for.
RRThiel Yup me too.
Paxirisu Pwning But for 4-2
RRThiel 21:32 is also great. My mom when heard it thought it was Romeo & Juliet
***** Me... Seeking Truth at 9:27
RRThiel no, thumbs down nukka
15:23. Unbreakable determination. What a cool track.
Japanese title:「鮮烈のリュウ」。
Agreed!
@@expresstoki181 for me it was always "train level"
Pushing Forward is my favorite. Weird song for a fledgling ninja.
@@kimmolaine8069 lol. Yeah. Cool track.
13:54 Most underrated videogame music ever
Considering most kids (and even adults now) skip through cutscenes I don't think a lot of people ever heard it.
At that point of the game I thought the sound track was perfect and could not get any better. But then that song proved me wrong. Amazing to say the least!
Exactly 🙌
Pictionary has entered the chat...
Foster
"The song 'Unbreakable Determination' is absolutely amazing. It's a timeless classic from the Famicom era that I still can't forget."
thanks for pointing it out.... I know when I was very young this was the song that meant ninja gaiden! Not sure what version it is used early on because I'm sure I did not get far.
I think it's safe to say that this game trained a generation of gamers for the painful road ahead. It's like our Spartan training program. Dark Souls? Bloodborne? Bitch please I finished Ninja Gaiden.
+I Am The Law If you finished Ninja Gaiden (without game genie) then you are better THAN AVGN wow
Sergeant Sargeras good job
+I Am The Law hi
I beat all 3 Ninja Gaiden games and the newer ones on the hardest settings.
+I Am The Law Playing Ducktales Remastered made me think about how that's considered an easy NES game...and it is, if you're comparing it to shit like Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, Mega Man, Contra, Ghosts N Goblins, Battletoads, Bayou Billy, Zelda II, etc.
But an "easy" game like Ducktales on its medium difficulty is still infinitely more punishing than the average modern game, even ones like Shovel Knight that strive to emulate the NES feeling. There are actually consequences for your failures and you can't progress by throwing yourself into traps and then waiting for your health to regenerate.
Some NES games definitely go *too* far on the challenge (fucking Battletoads, man. talk about overkill) but others strike a really good balance of being difficulty but still rewarding to play, and now the trend seems to be going in the other direction, where games aren't rewarding because they're too easy.
I'm amazed by how little love 1:12 Pushing Onward gets. It's awesome for Stage 1 theme.
to me it's the most iconic one
I remember having this music again in the later, more difficult, more creepy levels too.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU
It's amazing
April by Deep Purple?
One of the best soundtracks in video game history.
Everywhere I go. Seems we got good taste.
@@commandervile394 I would give honorable mention to donkey Kong country, two and sonic two
I agree, David Wise is a genius, as is Sonic Team.@@miamimagicians
@@commandervile394 Let’s look at Mario brothers three and sonic two how many PlayStation and N64 and Xbox games can equal their level of fun? Not many really
@@miamimagicians I don't know man, in my experience there was plenty. We had Goldeneye64 and Turok which were pioneers of FPS gaming in 3d, we had Star Fox, Bomberman 64 and Hero, we had the Mario Kart/Party games. We had Resident Evil 1,2 and 3, Crash Bandicoot, Medieval. There was definitely plenty of fun games with GREAT musical soundtracks in their own lineage..
Whoever did the music for this game is a genius. One of if not my best game soundtrack of all time.
That is Keiji Yamagishi, who, among other things, also produced the music for Tecmo Bowl and Captain Tsubasa 2
@@NYCZ31Thanks for the information!!
Can't beat this game without save-states anymore. I wonder what drugs I was on as a kid. The game and the soundtrack are alltime classics. :)
Games back then we’re hard lol compared to today where you got check points oh hey your sucking I’ll skip that part for you
NG has the second place on hardest of the trilogy, easiest one NG2, second place this one, the begin of this marvelous franchise...and the hardest one goes to NG3, my opinion and take all yourself care, my elders gamers fellas.
Whatever you were on, could I get some of it? I literally went from almost full health to dead in 4 seconds.
lol. u beat it xD
one of best 8bit game sound tracks. sweet and awsem memories. xD Thank you for guys who put in work set this channel up. its great
12:57 still the best to me
Yeah. Such a creepy theme.
I agree!
Totally agree 🖒
I agree
it's an *amazing* track. Love it so much.
I remember when i first discovered the cheat code to access the sound menu, i would literally sit there, close my eyes and listen to the soundtrack the whole way through. I think it just may be the first time i ever just sat and thoroughly appreciated a body of music and fully immersed myself in all the range of complex emotions that the music triggered. For sure it was the first time i was ever truly moved by a piece of music. And what an impression it made upon me as an 8 year old! As a producer/dj/ musician now in his 40s thinking back in hindsight, i realize what a definitive moment that was in my love affair with music. Reliving that moment as an 8 year old listening to this now is fucking surreal, to say the least.
Those musics, they were so good! 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
thank you for sharing, I have a personal bond with these songs too
15:23 >> Unbreakable Determination forever
「鮮烈のリュウ」という日本語タイトルも是非届いて欲しいのだが・・・
Maaan, the music in this game was legendary. II and III had their moments, but the soundtrack in the original will always be my favourite. And yeah, 12:57 for the win.
SO DRAMATIC, SO BEAUTIFUL
For some reason I've always liked the 8bit snare drum...
the drum in a lot of NES games was actually sampled PCM audio of a real drum.
@@wyattward210 many games also used noise channel for drums
@@xyzzy-dv6te I always remember the drums being my favs on NES games. In particular, the drums in SMB3 had some superb samples.
Batman: return of the joker had amazing drums as well. Check me if I’m lying. 👍

I literally get chills listening to track 1-1! How can a game start off so epic!!! Gameplay and music!!!? Long live Ryu Hayabusa!!!!😎
1-1 did not bother me. The music played during the Foster cut scene was creepy, as was 4-3. 4-3 sounded somewhat like the Twilight Zone Intro, but eerier.
21:32 My favorite theme from the game. I was a young teen when I got to this scene. 39 now.
Yeah, that theme is so moving! 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
I was an only child with very overprotective parents. I was not allowed to listen to the radio until I was 10 years old and my brother was born. But I had video games and this soundtrack in particular had a huge impact on me.
This is my favorite NES trilogy and I LOVE Unbreakable Determination (15:23), which I never get tired of listening to. I not only own the NES Ninja Gaiden trilogy games, but the CD soundtrack too. Awesome soundtrack!
How did you get the cd?
Every comment praising 9:27 earned my like. Very underrated, but omega good.
08:36 - AAAAAAARRRRRGHHH! BIRDS!
OMG!!!! totally !!!! lol
This one is great too 😂
those fuckers
OMFG YES! >=( And the bats were worse than Castlevania's Medusa heads!

30 years and still fond of this... half my life is already gone by and this still takes me back to my sweetest childhood... wiping off a tear
7:10 9:27 15:23 Perfect!!
hi
notice 7:10 is first... it's so good
Thanks XD
You forgot 10:40...
i like from 00:00 to 55:27 that one is perfect..
Japanese developers always have a tendency to make the most out of everything, even with 8 and 16 bit limitations there are quality soundtracks that were made using the limited technology
they've fallen behind a bit in the game developin' haven't they? there's yet for a crash bandicoot 2 or similar to come out of japan, they haven't made up to that standard with newer generation consoles, crash bandicoot 2 is gold standard and they've yet to meet that
Indeed, the soundtrack would not exist as it is but for those limitations, and the game would not be what it is. The same goes for every other aspect of the game
Lol weeb

You can find a remastered version on here.
Hey, would you touch yourself tonight?
And rightfully so.
I can literally see myself playing through the levels in my head as the music plays because I played the game so many times. What a fantastic part of my childhood.
01:12 This song reminds me of when I left Japan and showed up in the USA in 1987 to try and find my dad. All I brought with me was a sword and my lucky purple outfit. I had to slay a lot of birds, cats, and henchmen but I eventually achieved the American dream.
Such a heart warming story

12:57 - Devilish influence... is like you are getting even closer to your end..
Only one word can describes this game: "EPIC"
yes....but more importantly...before anybody thought a video game could be "epic."
😭 Pure Nostalgia
My favorite video game franchise of all time hands down. Had the best music ever. Still get pumped hearing some of these songs again.
Agreed. I especially love Unbreakable Determination (15:23), and I like to play this while exercising!
This game was hard as hell and it suiting that the soundtrack also goes HARD!! I love it!
15:23 One of the best songs on the NES. Period.
the duel/opening theme makes for a perfect alarm sound for your phone. I wake up to it and feel like a ninja lol
That is the spirit.
hi
The Ninja Spirit :P
I used proto mans whistle theme as my alarm in school, I had to stop because my grades dropped,
I just posed all day on cliffs looking wistfully in the distance.
My scarf budget was fucking crazy, but start the day as u mean to continue right
Grandmother's house, my first job, my first tv and NES buyed with my own money at 13 years old, fury and rage stages...so many good memories! 😂
15:23 and 7:10. They just pop up in my head sometimes!!😅 Always loved these tracks and a few others. Unbreakable determination title fits!
In your darkest hour, soul, do not give up, fight to overcome yourself, I'll never know you, but fight against the turbulence of this cruel world and remember to fight to the end wherever you are.
"Seeking Truth" has always been my favorite.
1:12 まじで最高!!
15:23 это божественно!
можно поспорить
00:23 / Vow of Revenge [Opening II]
до сих пор перепрохожу
саунд вот афигенный
Вам нужно быть более ясным. Весь этот OST такой
Thank youuu
I love this soundtrack.
It really is hard to choose a favorite, y'know? They're all groundbreaking in their own right.
15:23 - I honestly did not know that Ryu Hayabusa's theme from Warrior's Orochi 3 originate here.
Probably one of the best soundtracks for NES. Amazing after all these years how many tracks I still hum, from various NES games.
17:21 my mother's in law ringtone
when I read your comment I immediately knew it was this song you were referring to, even without looking at the list of timestamps hahaha well played
lmao
yahhahahah
'is that my ringtone - what is it ? cuz it sounds negative!!"...."its from the Notebook" LOLOLOL
When a black moon shines, light and dark break apart. My mother-in-law howls.
Thank you so, so fucking much for putting space in between tracks so they all start squarely on a second instead of halfway through. it makes this so much easier to crop.
I remember getting a nintendo for my brothers birthday in 1989 and besides Mario bros./Duck hunt being literally our first game, our father didn't know that the console came with a game(for some reason) he bought Ninja Gaiden along with it. Since we were familiar with Mario from our cousins house, We ignored Mario and dove head first into Ninja Gaiden. What a first game huh?
Great first. This turned kids into men lol.. idk. My story: Dad brings home used system in 93' (I'm 3) with no other games but Gaiden. So it was basically this and sat. morning cartoons that kept me from jumping off the walls. Later he brings home used mario/duck hunt and gun. I swear I would just stick it On the screen to shoot those ducks.
12:57 is dope!! As kid i never skipped that cut scene,if you grew up in the nintendo era you are awesome
Greatest video game soundtrack EVER!
10:39 gets slept on i see
I've been playing Ninja Gaiden since 1988.
One of the top Rock Albums of all Time.
This is a timeless soundtrack from a classic NES game. And needless to say one of the hardest games ever made for the NES. Ninja Gaiden holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me.
I’m glad there are others, like myself, who feel this way 🙂
@@Youarelovewalk Absolutely. Though admittedly, this is a game I was NEVER able to beat. Try as I could, I could never beat this game. But I still holds it in high regard to this day. And I praise it for its storytelling and material.

Quite good games, but not the platforming perfection of Mario 3 and its great prequels.
Hard game, great music, the good old days...
Thanks for the video man! Now I can enjoy listening to the themes of ninja gaiden. My favorite is Vow of revenge
Thanks mate! its refreshing my memories flashback to the 80's
10:39 still gives me flashbacks of level 6-2
How is a possible game almost 30 years old has better music than a game of today?
Been asking myself this since the release of PSX
All the good tunes were written already.
Have you heard of the millennial woop?
NES is capable of good music despite being 8 bit.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's, and I disagree. There are still a lot of games with good songs, just not as common anymore. But this is definitely better than most modern game themes.
Becuas you're cherry-picking the statistics.
Behold the masters of all instrumental 8/16bit creations... 5:43
Good job for uploading this
man!! I still have the FX sounds in my mind, the jump sound, when you get hit, picking an Item and especially the game over song
12:57 devilish influence is the epic here
That timer in-video was an expert addition. Thanks!
Awesome OST. Outstanding cutscenes. Total epicness.
Hands down, the BEST Soundtrack possibly in video game history.

26:08 The best song in the game, no doubt
(Quick links to all songs and)
My views on every one:
0:01 Amazing, would be a great ending theme.
0:23 Easy to understand and an absolutely unforgettable theme.
1:09 Off We Go!
1:12 Pretty fast-paced, a great kickoff.
3:09 1,2,3 Go! The starting is so fitting, it's a race, a race to the other's end.
4:27 Tis Confusion. A great way to end the beginning.
4:52 Even more confusion, and a pretty good thrill builder, but not a good stage theme :/
5:43 Another great fast-paced kickoff.
7:10 The best interlude possible for cooldown.
8:36 Ninja Gaiden's version of Castlevania's "Pressure", a 10 sec Thrill builder.
9:27 It's got that Desert feel to it, suiting for a temple.
10:39 Doubtlessly the track you heard the most in the game ;D
Also has the best rush feeling in the whole game.
My third fav.
12:57 Basic Legend. Speechlessly amazing and unforgettable.
My second fav in the game.
13:54 Could have been a great underground theme. But still the best thrill builder.
15:23 If inspiration was music, I'd be listening to this all day and be a philosopher.
16:57 A greatly exciting Intro.
17:18 It's almost like "What's Next?!?" To a doomy realization.
18:05 Definition of No Going Back.
*18:59* Fills me up with randomness, the best in the game Doubtlessly.
19:50 I see it's a recycling of The Duel. The best Intro in the Game.
20:36 Another great thrill building Interlude in the game.
21:32 The third most memorably emotional track, after Devillish Influence and Vow of Revenge
22:16 The best Concluding Track in the game.
23:25 Romance at last? Why Not?!?
26:03 I take my words back about Nowhere To Run ;))

*Unbreakable Determination* :'c
Depths Of Wickedness
It's Over
