Mother of God, Capcom’s composers in the ‘90s were on another planet with the soundtracks they were making.

Played this in 5-6th grade. I was the oldest in my family. We were pretty poor, but we shared and took turns. Came home from school, did homework, played games till mom got home. This was our favorite game by far to play as a family. You pass it to the next person when you either beat a stage or died. Now everyone's all grown up with their own family and jobs. Priceless memories, priceless soundtracks, and a legendary game. Nothing can ever replace any of those things.
Good luck. I still have my SNES too. Tried to buy Chrono Trigger...cost about $90.

Chrono Trigger or MMX? Both games are good, but I would recommend CT. It is one of the best games of all time and the soundtrack still cannot be beat today. CT is about $90 without box. MMX will probably cost ya around the same.

in Mega Man Xtreme, you can just hold onto the left wall and shoot him. If the hands open at your position, you can jump off at the right moment and then grab the wall again and keep shooting. Mega Man X is similar, only you should use hadouken or rolling shield and stand on the hands. When they open, grab the wall. If they open next to the wall, get off and get back on when they finish. I recommend having at least one halfway full sub tank on you.
in mega man xtreme just use autocharge with mega buster and sigma is easy peasy
anyway expect it to take you a few tries (in mega man x atleast) as it took me like 20 even with that strategy

"Password" theme hit me in the feels. Pure nostalgia.
The password music at 0:32 is so uplifting. This game has SO many great tracks, but it's surprising when even your game over music is something to behold. Feels like it's saying "Hey, don't sweat it, you'll be allright. You're doing fine, catch your breath, then get back out there. Some real wonders still await you if you press on."
classic megaman idle music. Megaman Legends sounded similarly in my opinion, everything was bouncy and happy
I always had chills listening to it. Yeah, it's heartwarming in a "No matter how hard, your life quest in this world will be, you'll be all right if you keep holding on" kind of way.
its also a surprising change of pace. Much of the soundtrack is darker and edgier than all the MM classic tracks that came before it, but when you need it most, theres this gentle piece of idealism and encouragement waiting for you.

Hey, guys! I made a list of who composed and arranged what in this great game! I got the information from Capcom Database.
Here it is:
Toshihiko Horiyama - Password
Yuko Takehara - Boomer Kuwanger Stage
Yuki Iwai - Icy Penguino Stage
Makoto Tomozawa - Spark Mandriller Stage & Storm Eagleed Stage
Setsuo Yamamoto - All the rest
Those guys are great! Their music is very inspiring! My personal favorite is Setsuo Yamamoto because I like his Heavy Metal/Hard Rock style!
I admire those composers so much! They have a great sense for melody! By the way, Toshihiko Horiyama also composed the songs for the Demon's Crest video game, another one of my favorite video games!
Also worth noting Horiyama did the entire X4 ost
So Setsuo Yamamoto is responsible for that high pitched ear piercer in launch octopus's stage, got it
You have to overcome all the stages, all the way to Sigma Stage 2, to discover one of the finest BGM in VG history

Honestly, no other Mega Man game has Robot Master themes THIS good. When I'm playing the game and hear the music play, I feel heroic.
idk man, Megaman 2 pretty much holds that title imo
And as far as 8 bit goes, yeah MM2 was a milestone and will forever be the point where the bar was set high. The music is iconic for a reason. But, in terms of quality, I think MM9 and even 10 has it beat.
that's because the SNES had a much more powerful sound producing apparatus. It's not really fair to compare the NES and SNES in such ways, it's like trying to compare the strength of a normal person to a bodybuilder.
MISTA WULFY Bah, that scrawny wimp should just take more steroids. I agree that the NES had a disadvantage, but I'm of the SNES generation and I can't help but love this music. Makes me feel like a little blue god.

@@spicymeatballs2thespicening not at all! i only continued because zero was like, “i know you can do it, x!” and it gave me courage.
I don't want to sound nostalgia driven but this X had the overall best music, especially the intro stage track. To me, it perfectly captures what the X series was and how it was different from the classic series.
It's not nostalgia driven, I never had a SNES. I grew up with the PSX titles and used to think X4 was the superior OST but now after assessing all their respective soundtracks this one takes the cake, every single song is freaking catchy and memorable and the sound palette they used for this one has a lot more variety, X2 and X3 seem to share the exact same synths & drums. I know that all the Megaman X soundtracks are inspired by Metal but this is the only one where it was actually similar to classic heavy metal where as X2 is more thrash and X3 is alot more grunge metal sounding, probably because of the popularity of the sub-genre during the early-mid 90's. This is just one of those soundtracks where there just isn't really any weak songs it's perfect... and this isn't coming from any Nostalgia at all.
Real talk: I want the credits music at 38:42 to play at my funeral.
I'd probably get the X one because of my past history (huge Megaman fan since age 3 and all of my family and friends know it). I think the Illusion of Gaia one would be the perfect wedding song. I can see a lovely couple walking the aisle to the intro. Too bad I'm already married... Should have thought of this earlier...

Great games have a certain appeal that hooks itself in your mind and never lets go. You have to return every once in a while to satisfy that one itch. I get the same with Super Metroid and Link to the Past.

What about Boomer Kuwanger....
Boomer is cool. I think Storm Eagle has the edge over him though with his high energy rocking song. I think if anything Spark Mandrill is a closer match in terms of song awesomeness. ;)
Listening to the whole OST seems like a big win to me.
I remember playing this game on the PSP, and the Flame Mammoth theme was and still is my most favorite music from it.
+mareo broter But it's the hardest and the raging game in all of mega man
mareo broter
I played Mega Man X on the PSP.
The level creator only allowed up to 15 things.
It was fun, especially the music.
I played LittleBigPlanet 3 on the PS3.
Create mode is amazing.
'Even Bosses Wear Hats Sometimes' was as hard to me as 'King Stage 2' was to you, I got as mad as I was when trying to get through the obstacles of the first LBP, especially The Bunker. I beat EBWHS by muting it in the Toggle & Swoop parts, just so I could hear Newton say "I'm allergic to drowning!".
I played Minecraft on the Xbox 360, it felt good. I played Minecraft on the computer, it was good. I played it on the iPad, not as good as the computer version.
Despues De mucho tiempo mi hijo desempolvo la snes y volvi a escuchar ese sonido queria llorar.... 1995_2019
The first game I ever played. I was 4 and to this day this is my favorite franchise
Never really noticed how badass the end boss song is (Sigma 2nd). was always full of anxiety and in a different mindset of concentration to try and take out Sigma before the E-Tanks were emptied lol. This soundtrack was awesome.
I remember making it to sigma 2nd a few months ago, was about to beat this game for the first time. I was like: "YEAH I BEAT IT"
then I see sigma's head and this song plays
I had only 1 sub tank
got my ass kicked
It pains me how far away those memories seem to be now :'( my son is the same age I was when I first heard all of these soundtracks..
Grace This soundtrack is amazing beyond belief lol
You sound like a bad mother too me. Why not share the memories and nostalgia?
You’re a girl who plays video games that’s pretty cool lol
@@chrisprusinowski5287 Necro-post, but.... Jesus, man.
@@chrisprusinowski5287 I'm not sure if the comedy was intentional but... I'm bawling from laughter.
One the greatest soundtracks ever composed, even to this day!
i remember being like 7 playing this game
and wondering why megaman from megaman 7 couldn't climb walls
damn, those were the days.
HADOUKEN ARMORED ARMADILLO IN ONE SHOT!!!!
Mega Man X is the only game whose soundtrack best utilizes the crashing of metal as an instrument.
f4milyguy is one of the last OG uploaders of video game music still on the site. Remain strong my friend and may you never get hit with copyright or account suspension.
3:57 This is the sound of fear, watching as you can do nothing against the big bad vile... only to have Zero come set you up for one of the dopest adventures you went on as a child.
they dont make music like this for games anymore.
venom477 Uhm, Yeah they do.
venom477 Uhm, Yeah they do.
***** Uhm, No they don't
***** name one lol
ATLANTA-BOY-1985
The Last of Us, Kingdom Hearts series, Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age series, Grand Theft Auto 5, Metal Gear Solid series, The Elder Scrolls series, Assassin's Creed series (2 and Brotherhood to be particular). I know you've only asked for one modern game with an outstanding soundtrack but uhhhm Merry Christmas! (Oh yea LittleBIgPlanet series always had an amazing soundtrack as well, woof!)
dr light capsule theme is so criminally underrated
Simply the best Mega Man X soundtrack!!!
My 5 year old requested the Mega Man X music on the car ride. Raising 'em right! Lol
Parenting 100
Heck yeah! X is the future, after all
I just tried it, and they didn’t comment. Hopefully that’s a good thing
26:01 RIP Zero :'(
I'm not a big mega man fan, but if I had to play one game, it would be this. Come on, the music is badass, the bosses, intimidating and will show no mercy, the powerups, the gameplay, I just fucking love it. I will admit though, Sigma was one of the most cruel bosses I ever fought. I fucking hated his guts, so I was so satisfied when I finally beat him after so much time. This is what I love about older games, they're so punishing and hard, then when you beat them, it's all the more satisfying
***** I have to agree with you on that. On a side note, do you know where to get the original Mega Man X? I just got my SNES working again.
Icesera Wings Idk honestly. Ebay might be a good place but idk.
Thanks, you two!
Anytime :)
***** i still struggle at Sigma. fuck that guy
Dam near wana tear 😢 up with these tracks a one of a kind masterpiece. Forever stay in my heart. Will always memorize those bass notes, beautiful notes. A happy place; my childhood.
Me too, my friend. This game made a HUGE impact on my life.
I was 4 when I this masterpiece dropped at my local video store. Best $3 you could ever spend for the weekend as a kid.
That was my first game i ever played and im still lovin it
timmeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh
Paaaasssword theeeeeme! So awesome! I could listen to it for hours.
This one and the one from Mega Man 3 are amazing.
Quite possibly the best password screen ever as well.
The intro music before u fight the mavericks and the actual fight music is insane .. it always made me feel like bosses were more difficult than they really were
one of the best platformers ever made, with one of the best soundtracks ever composed. I played and loved this game as a kid, and it still holds up to this day.
the level of nostalgia and joy that I get from listening to the soundtrack to this game is something I'll forever cherish. they just simply don't make games like this anymore, with very rare exception.
I feel so grateful to have been a child when this released, and to experience the excitement and sheer amazement of that first playthrough, having played the original 6 constantly.
