I assumed Hells overpopulation is equated to Hells power since the overlords seem to gain their power from the number of souls they own. By culling Hell's population it puts a cap on how powerful their strongest can become.

oooh I was excited for this reaction!!! I can't wait to hear all the voice actors sing this season, as a broadway nerd, seeing so many broadway stars had me so hyped. Also btw 3:13 I don't think Lucifer technically created sins and evil, I think its just something that humans were always capable of, but lucifer gave them the knowledge to do it. So I guess in this he didn't really understand the consequences of his actions. Humans are caple of a lot of good but also a lot of bad.

I don’t know if you know it, it seems like you do, but Lilith was actually in the first version of the Bible and was Adam’s equal. She was later removed in later versions of the Bible and became basically a myth
Hell wasn’t really created by Lucifer. It just appeared when he gave Eve the apple and free will, because with free will humans also gained the possibility to hurt others and do evil actions. Without free will they would just do what the Angels allowed

According to Vivziepop the Hazbin Hotel pilot is completely canon (except for the voices and the visual style). The Helluva Boss pilot however is not canon except for some parts.

@@HaughtyToast You mean the first song in the pilot? Where does it show that Charlie has already met with Adam and Lute? As far as I can see it just shows the last extermination that happened recently and the aftermath of it.
@@GSandSDS At 0:17 you can see her silhouette interacting with Adam and Lute's as she sings "and to find it how often I've tried". So it implies that the encounter had already happened.

I did not. I think that Kit did? But I'd already seen Addict before--I was a fan of Helluva Boss and Hazbin for a really long time, so I had already seen most of what existed before the Amazon show came out.
