    Yes yes yes dark and stormy scones are now on the list. I have made them as ginger beer scones essentially the same way before which are a hit. Can not wait for the additional ingredients 🤤

    We used Wimmers ginger beer and found it too weak.
    Will have to try kirks or Bundaberg ginger beer next time.

    I would like to know what is a, "Ginger Beer"?
    Is it an alcohol or a soda pop like American Ginger Ale?
    Your videos are very enjoyable and informative.
    Thank Chuck

      Thanks Chuck. Ginger Beer is a common soft drink here. It originally was made with fermented ginger root and it is very nice if you go to the trouble of making it. These days its made by all the big cordial manufacturers.

    New Subscriber, I only just found you from watching a video about camp ovens and now I have been watching your videos, Amazing to see the skills and professionalism you have to your craft. Have you ever done anything with Gluten free things? just the wife has those issues and I do virtually all the cooking so I have to adapt a lot of things.
    Anyway I hope to go along to the Sunshine Coast venue to catch up in person,
    Cheers Garry

      Hey thanks for the subscribe and the comment, I really appreciate that. And yes I have actually done a bit with gluten free in fact I recently did some scones at one of the expos and they were delicous. Ive also cooked for celiac's 40th a few years ago. A couple of years ago a lady enytered my gluten free damper recipe into a very large damper competition and she one over all champion damper, so it can definately be done. I will when I get filming again be doing some gluten free stuff for sure.

      Wow, that is so awesome, I was hoping to meet you at the Kawana show on the Sunshine Coast but I didn't realize that it was showing me last month's calendar so I missed out. I have been watching heaps of your videos and loving them, Gotta Love a Guy that supports Bundy Rum Products in food applications LMAO. We are on the Northside of Brisbane but really want to move to Bundaberg so hopefully, we catch you somewhere between those areas in the future. Cheers Garry and Davina

      Basically people in charge of organising entertainment for their particular event will contact me and ask for a quote for my services. If accepted and if I am available and interested in the job then I confirm and lock in the date. I knock back jobs where the costs of travel etc will eat up my fee or if I dont think it will be suitable. So im limited basically to who inquires and how big the event is over distance.
      So far Ive had not one inquiry from Vic, a heap of them each year from WA, about 3 or 4 from NSW, one from SA and a constant supply of inquiries from QLD. Its strange actually as Melbourne has overtaken Brisbane as my largest group of followers on facebook.

    Nanango.. I'm I gympie, I'm hoping to camp and do the rail trail out that way. I think your beard is even getting thinner. Jeep on the wagon and out of the cooks wagon..

      The beard length changes depending on how long its been since it last caught on fire. Its an occupational hazard 😁

      @campovenking  ปีที่แล้ว

      my biggest is 21 inches across, the next one down is 15 inches across and it holds 15 litres then there is the oval shaped one on the table and the 11 inch which I use to make the scones then a little 8 inch one under that. All bar the 21 inch are listed at my shop at www.campovenkitchen.com.au

    I didn’t see you do anything to the oven to stop them sticking. Did I miss something or is there no need?
    They looked great.

    • @davidspeight2890

      Think it’s King Brown’s aluminium camp ovens. Apparently they don’t stick. I would use a thin coat of rice bran oil or some high flash point oil to keep it lubed, but maybe don’t have to in aluminium ovens???

    • @campovenking
      @campovenking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need to use any oil. In fact that would just fry the bottoms.

    • @campovenking
      @campovenking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ovens are dry. No need for anything, nothing sticks to them.
