I absolutely think you have THE BEST teaching of crochet on TH-cam!!!! So refreshing not to have to “guess” when I get to an end of a row. New subscribers. Love my hat! Thank you for sharing!
Ahhhh what a lovely comment that just made my day! I have a new hat video that I am working on that I will be posting soon. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing.
Really like your tutorial but had some questions on size. 40 rows is way too small for an adult. Do you think it’s 50 or 60 for adult head? Is this pattern on Etsy? Or do you have another one that is similar. I already did 40 rows and not sure how to continue.
Sorry I don’t have this pattern on Etsy. It is definitely 40. Are you using the same yarn? I found that not all yarns are created equal when it comes to weight so perhaps that is the problem? This pattern is made with Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick which is a super bulky yarn. I do have a similar pattern in my Etsy shop called the Cove Hat.
I am so sorry for the delay in responding. Yes The Cove Hat is also 40 rows with a 6.5 mm hook. I designed The Cove Hat first, this hat was a variation of the Cove Hat.
Hello, I’ve only written this pattern for adults but I do have a kids hat called The Berkeley Hat on my channel that uses the same yarn. If you want to modify this pattern measure the band around the child’s head and then subtract the same amount of stitches from the body of the hat.
Yes this is an adult size. It uses three different colours of yarn. You can use any combination you want. This yarn comes a lot of different colours. You will need a little more than a full ball of yarn in total. If you do the three colours you will have yarn left over.
@@woodcampercrochetcrafts I just finished the hat and it somehow lined up with yours at the end so I might just not need to change anything else. I love the hat!
This hat turned out so small. I even undid it and did it again to make sure I had the right stitches, yarn, and hook, and it still came out small. How would I fix that?
Sorry to hear that it is too small. The pattern can be easily adjusted to any size. You will need to add extra rows to the band. I suggest measuring the band around your head before joining it. You will then have to add additional stitches to the body of the hat to match the extra rows. I would divide the number of extra stitches needed in the body of the hat and add them to the beginning and end of each row.
Such a beautiful hat and great instructions! Couldn't comment on the other videos because it said server error. But wanted you to know that the other video has an issue. New sub here glad I found you. I found you via the #christmasinjulyfairies videos.

Ok thank you. Maybe I should have used a bigger hook. I will check out cove pattern. Is it also 40 rows with 6.5?

How many rows for a youth hat and child's hat?

Is this an adult size hat? It’s beautiful! Also, was it one ball of each colour for this hat? Thank you!

If I do this with 50 instead of 40 what else would I need to change?
Thanks for watching the video. I haven’t made this hat since I posted the video so I will have to take a look and get back to you.
