You are slip stitching in the back loop not the front.
It helps if you look at the slip stitch from the row you just finished. Identify the back loop from that row. When you turn your work that back loops is you front loop on the other size. A lot of people get confused with this but I assure you I am working in the front loop.
So clear! Thank you so much!!!
Great tutorial, thank you. I shall be making some of these headbands - great gifts !
Thank you so much! Yes they do make great gifts. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
You teach very well thank you

Beautiful
Thank you!
Oh how pretty!
Thanks!!
What months are these mittens for?
They are for 0-3 months.
@@woodcampercrochetcrafts ok thankyou!
My hat ended up with a weird point at the top when I finished. Any ideas why this could have happened?
I am sorry to hear that. It is really hard to say but it could be when you seemed it together, the tension, or possibly dropped stitches. Wish I could be more help but it is hard to say without examining the finished product.
Do you have to have all original patterns to be able to sell what you make ?
It depends. Some designers state that their patterns are for personal use only (this includes gifts) and others that you're free to sell the finished items with some of these specifying that they wish to be linked or credited as the designer. Prohibitions or requirements beyond resale and redistribition of the actual pattern might not be legally sustainable, but personally I would skip patterns with anything of that sort to which I could not easily comply. There are plenty of patterns both free and purchased without restrictions that might be difficult to honor as well as plenty of objects that don't really require a pattern. If it is an original pattern of your own creation you can sell the item, the pattern, neither, or both as you see fit.
@epicnamepwns1242 thanks so much, that is a really good point!
This pattern is awesome. Out of all the patterns on TH-cam this one turned out the best ! Thanks 😊
That is wonderful to hear. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to let me know you enjoyed the pattern and video. 😍
This is only my second project after picking crochet back up after about ten years and your tutorial has been so helpful!! I also appreciate the cuts where you let us do the single stitch rows on our own so I can switch to listening to music for a second and then come back for more instruction once I’m done!
That is such a nice comment, thank you. Obviously you still remember even after 10 years as I don’t really classify this as a beginner project! Yes, no one wants to watch me crochet the entire row! I like listening to music as well when I crochet. Thanks for watching.
Great tutorial! I can’t wait to get started on these!
Thanks! Happy Crocheting. 🧶

U need 3 balls to make the pair ?
1 ball will make a pair.
@woodcampercrochetcrafts when u mentioned the yarn in ur description , it has 3 in brackets ..so I assumed 3
The 3 refers to the weight in case you are substituting yarn or using some from your stash.
@@woodcampercrochetcrafts ohhh makes sense now
Staring now !!! Ty
Very Cute! Thank You!!

That's so cute!

Beautiful thank you so much ❤️

Thank you for sharing this beautiful design idea! 🌟✨
No problem. Thanks for watching!
If you do 3-6 months, do you still start off with a chain of 17
Yes you still start by chaining 17 for the cuff but instead of crocheting 18 rows you crochet 20. Then for rows 1-17 (in the body of the mitten) add an additional stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
@@woodcampercrochetcraftsokay so for the body, you wouldn't just add a stitch to the beginning and end of only row one? You would add to all of them? And what about when you get to row 10 and decrease?
@user-sj4mb8bz2o to all the rows until you get the the decrease. You have two extra stitches in each row so for the decrease rows you do one extra decrease.
🫶🏻💕very nice☕️💕☺️💖💕
Thank you! ❤️😍
Soooo, I’m confused. Using 3 weight yarn, and 5 mm hook, after I chain 51, the chain doesn’t fully wrap around my head. So can I increase my chains to make it fit and then just follow the pattern as normal? Does it get bigger as you go?
The pattern is worked flat not in the round so no need to measure the chain around your head. The chain is the height of the hat with enough extra for a “cuff”.
I meant to say a big THANK YOU! For your reply and the pattern! Your video and pattern was so easy to follow, I am in the middle of making a beanie and it’s coming along beautifully! You made it so very easy to understand. Cheers ❤
What a lovely comment! Thank you so much for letting me know. I am glad you are enjoying the pattern.
Thank ypu for a lovely pattern. I have one question... when you do the dec in waistcoat stitches, I can't get the decreases placed right. In every row, I end up placing them in the decrease from the previous row, and not right before. How do you get them placed right?
If you are having issues I recommend using stitch marker . Thanks for watching.
Hi, did you have to use more than one ball of yarn? I saw that you said one ball in one comment and 1.5 balls in another, so just wanted to double check! Thank you ❤
Ops! I haven’t made this in a while but I am fairly certain it was 1.5 balls.
Can I use acrylic yarn to make these?
You can substitute with any yarn that is the same weight.
Basically a loose SC, ok- I'm writing down what all your tutorials basically are, this is so helpful I'm crying 😭
I am so glad you are finding the videos helpful. Thanks so much for letting me know.
@@woodcampercrochetcrafts np!! Keep doing what you do best, never let a hate comment get you down!
@Moth_64 thanks!
OMG THIS IS SO CLOSE AND SLOW AND IT ACTUALLY SPEAKS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, BEFORE THIS AND YEEZHEE, I SERIOUSLY COULD DO A SINGLE CROCHET, A CHAIN, AND A HORRIBLE MAGIC CIRCLE. NOW I CAN DO BPSC , FPSC, AND A SLIP STITCH!! I'M SUBBED TO BOTH TYSM YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!
What a lovely comment, thank you.
I worked along with you on the patter and THOUGHT I was doing well; until I got to the end and had three pieces to put together for the hat. I must have misunderstood you. I thought you said "do the same pattern two more times". ( duh!!!) I interpreted it as 3 separate pieces and now I realize you must have meant "CONTINUE ON With the same work....just starting with Row 1 again". Dang. I have to rip everything out and begin again, which I hope I'll do. You may want to clarify that in your directions....otherwise I thought you were very clear and I really liked working along with you. Thanks. Clare
Thanks for the feedback it is much appreciated. It did not occur to me when I made the video but now that you mention it I definitely can see how that is confusing. Thanks for letting me know.
@@woodcampercrochetcrafts thanks for the reply. I'll give it another try, hopefully I'll do it correctly this time.
Glad to hear you are giving it another go. Let me know how it turns out.
Glad to hear you are giving it another try let me know how it turns out.
I have made two pairs of these and I absolutely love your instruction and pattern! You have a good mix of stitching shown vs. speeding through. I really appreciate the repetition of showing the stitches as you go. Thank you thank you!!
Thanks for the lovely comment and feedback!😀
Awesome I've been searching for video, others didn't explain well(language barrier) So glad I found u🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Your website seems to bring me back to this video. Where is the opposite mitten instructions?
It is in the video. I don’t demonstrate both hands but in the video I provide the instructions for both.
Are you talking about the post? You like completely changed the terminology. I don't understand what you're doing here. So back loop then front loop or post then front loop? I have found ZERO cowl patterns that make sense on here GRRRR
Hello from New Brunswick, Canada. Enjoying your videos, so easy to follow, thank you.❤❤
Hello! I have driven through New Brunswick once on the way to PEI but definitely want to get back there to tour around one day, I hear it is beautiful. Thanks for watching!
What is "the post"?
When you look at your work the vertical line of yarn that forms the stitch is called the post.
Thank you very much for sharing your talent with us. You're an excellent teacher!💯⭐ I just finished the first slipper of my pair of booties and I love it!! 😍I've only been crocheting since March and this is the first footwear item I've made. I plan to make many more pair. I've scanned through the thumbnails of your videos and will definitely be making more of your designs. After I'm experienced enought to read patterns, I plan to visit your Etsy shop. Thanks again.
What a kind comment 😍Thank you very much for watching.
👍
Yarn color too dark to follow.....
I appreciate the feedback. I heard that from a few views and have used lighter colours in subsequent videos.
Great pattern thank you.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi from Nanaimo. Thanks for the pattern.
Well hello! Lots of the inspiration for my patterns comes from the Island. What a beautiful place 😍
How many stitches would you suggest starting with to size up?
Question about doing the ribbing. How are you counting the ribbing rows? We chain 13 and SC back down for 12 then slip stitch for 2 then sc back up the chain for 12. Is each direction a row to get to 24? How many rows did you complete in this video for the ribbing? That may help me.
Definitely need a stitch marker.Every time I do this I have to unravel a few rows because I find I've missed a stich at an end. I mean to count but you onow what they say about long made plans🙄
I hear you! I always think I don’t need stitch markers and then find myself a stitch short!
Just finished the first slipper . I love this pattern. Thank you so much ♥️
You’re very welcome. I am glad you enjoyed the pattern. Thanks so much for letting me know.
I just don't know why we don't say 2 sc. The increase always makes it more difficult for me lol not to mention I'm a lefty.
I completely agree!
Se puede en español
I think there is an option for subtitles unfortunately I don’t speak Spanish but I wish I did!
Very clearly explained! Thank you!

Such a straightforward tutorial! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
thank you!!!! the wording on some patterns confuse me as a beginner, and you made this super clear!
Wonderful! I am glad the video helped.
How many balls (grams) of yarn did you use?
Just one ball
