I love this hat!! I've made dozens of beanies this winter, this is by far my favorite to make, give, and wear!!! Happy Holidays and a big thanks for your pattern and instructions!!❤
I love this hat...but I wish you would mention how many stitches after each row and also it would be helpful to show how you are supposed to be ending each row with the specific last stitch just to verify we are on the same page and ending correctly.
It is simple math: Rnd 1: 8 sts Rnd 2: increase every st, 8x2= 16 sts Rnd 3: increase every other st, 8 x 3= 24 Rnd 4: increase every other st, 24 + 12 = 36 sts Rnd 5: increase every 4th st, 36 + 9= 45 Rnd 6: decrease by 1 st, 45-1= 44 Then you don’t increase or decrease for the rest of the hat. Also, I do show how to end each round, so I’m unsure how else to assist you there. Hope this helps
Honestly, this is first hat I made that actually looks great on me and fits well. I lost count somewhere along the way and ended up with 38 instead of 44 but, I have a small head so it worked out well. Haha. I love your teaching style❤❤❤
I made this hat it came out beautiful and have looked at your other videos......you are a crochet master, I am impressed with your creations, thank you for sharing!
I love this pattern. I will try to make it. I dont how I'm gonna fit it in my schedule in between 3 homeschool little kids yikes!!! but I want to make it so bad. crochet is my happy time, my me time, my stress reliever. I used to crochet a ton now I have been too busy. I will have to make sure I make time for the things I love to do personally. thanks for this beautiful easy pattern.
Love every one of your chunky yarn hats!! They fit perfect and your teaching videos are fantastic❣You're the BEST‼️ Thank you for sharing. Please keep creating these wonderful hats.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback ❤️ I may or may not have another chunky hat pattern coming next week😉 I think you’re going to love it even more than this one😁
I’m not sure if this will help anyone else, but you turn your work before and after the “bobble” row. You don’t turn in between the single crochet rows. I kept having to rewind the video until this sunk in! It’s a beautiful hat and works ups quickly. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I was getting frustrated because I have a market Saturday and things were taking entirely too long. The first time I worked through this it took about 45 minutes to an hour. I’m going to make a few more. Thanks so much. Also, your instructions were very clear and the way you held your work so that we could see what you were doing was excellent.
I’ve tried starting over 4 different times, and have finally just given up after wasting so much time trying to follow along. Starting each round completely differently, sometimes starting in the same stitch we joined in, sometimes skipping a stitch, sometimes the chain 2 doesn’t count as a stitch. This is a lovely pattern, and I wish I could have made it work, but this is by no means “easy” if you’re just starting out and learning what all of these different techniques mean, and how they affect the next round.
I’m sorry you had so much trouble. This is not a beginner-friendly pattern, but once you get the hang of crocheting, it is very easy I promise. As you become more advanced, maybe revisit the pattern. I also have written patterns for all of my designs in Etsy and Ravelry if that’s more helpful to you as a beginner. Best of luck to you.
@@DaysCrochet Thank you for replying, I was very frustrated, but in no way upset with you. Only that I had thought this was beginner friendly when I started, and stubbornly tried many times to figure it out 😂 Maybe I will come back to it. I’ve done a dozen or so other projects and have been able to figure them out, so I thought I could do the same here. Do you have any recommendations for a textured hat pattern that’s more beginner friendly?
@@EmeraldEyes3713 I understand. You will get there, I have no doubt! I do have a more beginner friendly hat. You can find the free written version on my blog (linked in the description box below the video). Here’s the video link if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/Jc9XJTLEWlQ/w-d-xo.html
I measured it was 6.5 inches when supposed to...my hat turned out a little long on me. More like a slouchy. Totally measurements 8.5 inches. Nice pattern. Enjoyed making it. You have great chunky and super chunky hats. Again another great tutorial. Hope you and your loved ones have a safe and healthy holiday season.
Thank you for this tutorial !! You have a very calming teaching voice! Your tutorials are always easy to follow. I like using the bulky yarn as it works up so much faster! Keep ‘em coming please!🙏
Hi! Thank you for your video! This hat is amazing and looks great! I was wondering if you know about the magic loop to start a hat crocheting in the round. If you haven’t, it’s awesome! They have videos on TH-cam. The magic loop.
@@DaysCrochet I can read and follow a pattern but if I watch a video, I have to go by the video. Same with a pattern. Plus if I have no wifi I have it. x
Started but realized did not have the same numbers of stitches…took all apart and went for a different pattern! Wish you could tell how many stitches after each row!
In your written pattern you said if its not 6" then adjusr the hook and redo that again. Its just little confusing. But when i watched the video it got cleae 😊.
Love the pattern and tutorial was easy to make was a beginner. How do I re-make it so that it fits a bigger head? It’s too snug for my head. Do I add an extra chain at the start of the project?
Can you tell me the name of the color used in the light colored hat that is tan and grey at 16:45/17:08 thick and quick. I would like to make that pattern in that color.
Not a silly question ☺️ you certainly can but I personally don’t use it because I dislike it very much. Feel free to use it in my tutorials if you’d like.
I am excited to follow this pattern and have tried a couple time but I am struggling without a stitch count or pattern to read. I checked the blog and can’t find the pattern.
I do have a written pattern but apparently it’s not a free one on my blog. Sometimes I don’t put them on my blog. Sorry about that! You can find it in my Etsy and Ravelry shops if you’re interested
I have never gone a quarter of the way into a tutorial to have the poster say "check your gauge, if its not the same as mine, tear it all up and start over". Im struggling already because the friend Im making this for likes black and red, and black is really really hard to see the stitches even with my cheaters on lol, then for some reason the black/gray yarn (wool ease super heavy same as yours) is EXTRA fuzzy making those stitches just vanish lol. Im about to just give it up and pick a different tutorial. This says 'easy' .. if I was brand new, Id have given up in round two.
Black yarn makes me wanna quit every project I use it in and I’ve been crocheting for 30 years lol. This is truly one of my easiest patterns, but it is is important that you can see your stitches. Maybe try it with a solid lighter color first?
Yes I tried making it I had to frog it like 5 times then finally even though I kept rewinding it I finally said..it looks good enough. When you said do rows 7-9 3×. Rewind didn't help. I still love your work though.
@DaysCrochet thank you. I do love your designs and your tutorials on booth set ups are great. Your color choices are so wonderful. I hope you get to feeling better.
I have actually made several of these using a size 5 and an 8.0 mm hook. I added one more yarn over for each puff, and just sorta kept my tension loose. If you can get the right measurements, it should be just fine. I didn’t adjust the stitch counts either. Good luck!
Have a question. I've noticed that some patterns call for ch 2 or 4 like this at the beginning of a pattern instead of using a magic Circle why is? Does it change the look or is it easer?
Sorry! My customers seem to have zero interest in hats made with thinner yarns. I have discovered there are WAY more gat patterns using worsted weight yarn than the bulky and super bulky weight yarns, so I feel like I can give my customers what they want while also filling the need for more hat patterns using bulky weight yarns. You can always double or triple your strands ☺️
@@djeoutdoors I’m sorry I offended you. That was not my intention. I meant the people who buy my finished hats want chunky yarn (because I live where it’s really cold). I didn’t mean to upset you.
Coming from a person with experience crocheting, this was a frustrating and confusing pattern in its current state. Would be so much better with stitch counts and time markers to understand which rows to repeat. Love the end result in the video, but I wish it was easier to follow.
