Happened to me once 12 years ago. One student in second grade popped off all the erasers from the back of the new pencils. We didn't know who did it, it was only one student. The teacher gave all of us lunch detention. Apparently some kids later found them in a student's backpack, don't know if she got in trouble though. Besides that I've sat through countless hour long lectures because my class wouldn't behave for a sub or something even though I was always the quiet kid who just wanted to get my work done and go home. It was bullshit being lumped in with other people's bad behavior and treated like I was a problem. Messed up my confidence in myself as I grew up for sure.

My homeroom teacher was so fed up with my class for doing alot of mischief, and I just didn't wanted to go to school the majority of the year because of that, and it was to the point that I wanted to move out the school (which I had been going to since Pre School at the time), and even the entire district since I don't want to fallow a reputation of being a immature and mischievious person into middle and probably high school, which the majority of my grade was, since most of the time, I am not that kind of person. I am in 7th grade now, and currently studying at an independent charter public school since 6th grade, and I have learned that at the end of the day, we are just kids, and that nobody is perfect. My mom told me alot of times to ingnore those kinds of people, and fallow your own path, and make the right choices.

That gives me memory of my experience when I was in sixth grade. I remember that we just started a new period we were waiting for a teacher, and we were being quiet. Then this one kid ask where is the teacher. Then everybody’s started to talking. Then this one teacher, doesn’t even teach this class, walking by and came in our classroom and started screaming at us. And having a meltdown because it is disrespectful to talk all we want because the teacher isn’t here yet. The other teacher has to come and calm her down. Then this substitute teacher finally came. She didn’t even know what’s going on and started to disciplining us because she blamed us for causing all this. First, we were curious where was the teacher. Second we weren’t even loud, and I can tell because my ear is very sensitive to loud talking.
I teach and love my job, but I teach adult ed, and have subbed in both high school and middle school. 6th - 8th grade has got to be the toughest years for someone to teach, my hats off to them. It's not all the kids fault though, these are the years that students are going through all different changes in life, and therefore these have got to be the three hardest years for both teachers and students.

That gives me memory of my experience when I was in sixth grade. I remember that we just started a new period we were waiting for a teacher, and we were being quiet. Then this one kid ask where is the teacher. Then everybody’s started to talking. Then this one teacher, doesn’t even teach this class, walking by and came in our classroom and started screaming at us. And having a meltdown because it is disrespectful to talk all we want because the teacher isn’t here yet. The other teacher has to come and calm her down. Then this substitute teacher finally came. She didn’t even know what’s going on and started to disciplining us because she blamed us for causing all this. First, we were curious where was the teacher. Second we weren’t even loud, and I can tell because my ear is very sensitive to loud talking.

I teach and love my job, but I teach adult ed, and have subbed in both high school and middle school. 6th - 8th grade has got to be the toughest years for someone to teach, my hats off to them. It's not all the kids fault though, these are the years that students are going through all different changes in life, and therefore these have got to be the three hardest years for both teachers and students.
I find that the best teachers discipline their students as quickly as possible, without scolding, and it works surprisingly well.
Teacher: "I'm writing the whole class up."
Me: "Hmm... I dunno sounds a lil like communism."

I never did anything disruptive in class. Yet teachers like this would punish everyone just because we were there. And I didnt want to be involved in any of it but walking out would get me in trouble.
