Just watched one (a few) of your older videos. The quality overall from then to now is night and day. This tool I saw for sale and thought “just another twister” I’ve got a few including the Petit Jean. I see now why I should get one of these. Great demonstration and great video.
Awesome review on this. Your instructions help tremendously on how to use it. I went to my local fly shop to pick one up the other day and they were sold out. Told The owner to hold one for me and I got a call from him yesterday informing me they were in. I went today and he was already sold out except for the one he put back for me. Now I’m no expert at tying but this tool makes tying so much easier with all the uses you can do with it. I would also like to see more products from SMHAEN in another review video as well. They have quality products.

Thanks Cheech, great review. It just needs the finger loop like the loon one. It also is a lot lighter than the loon one. I prefer it over the loon, but not by as much as I thought I would.

Great review but I have bought this tool and it continually cuts the dubbing loop thread with the spring-metal hooks. If used really carefully it works like a charm but you'll eventually cut the thread when you least expect it. I've even sanded the clip edges to remove the sharpness but to no avail. I'll give its due, when it works it works really really well but a cut dubbing loop is not worth the risk.
I need a slow-motion, slow learner tutorial on how to make a dubbing loop, and how to connect it to the hook, and why the hell the loop doesn't just spin loose as soon as it hits water.

Look awesome but I don't understand how or why they make it so expensive to tie flies or fly fish, it is so heartbreaking for the average person to afford something like that. I myself would dream to have a vice like that or tools like that, sorry for the rant just a little envious that's all love your videos have a great day.
It looks very cool, but £50 for a little dubbing twister!? I mean, for £50 you can buy a good quality drill or a cordless screwdriver to spin dubbing lol. And you can drill over the wall and any metal surface too. xD

Yeah 😅 sorry I spit out my coffee at the price! I own every dubbing tool known to man but I will never own this one. I have a Norvise, a dubbing tool that acts as a set of rotary pliars and I can adapt to anything. This is so sad. Your hair looks good though. $50?? Please.

Great video, I love tying Griffith’s Gnats and this tool makes it SO easy to tie.
I was skeptical at first with yet another dangle donger but I get it now. This does look like a very versatile and efficient tool.

I’ve had thread break if I torque it too much. An easy solution is to double up your loop.

Another over priced fly tying tool for someone to piss off their money on. Everything used in tying flies is getting very expensive in 2022.
