Exo always brings something fresh and experimental. There's almost everything for everyone, matching and satisfying every taste. There's never a boring moment with EXO. The best part, their live versions are better than their studio ones. You learn to appreciate the songs more after experiencing the live versions.
Your face when listening to wolf was the entire fandom probably when they 1st heard it. But I regard it as a well-produced meme song, and honestly it gets me hyped when it comes on. Singing along to it is hilarious 😂. Their MV's and live stages are iconic as well, their albums just kept getting better. Also yes multistans can be unproblematic, my whole friendship circle are. There's too much talent out there to miss out on!
Wolf is a song that many people have different opinion about 😂 but you should watch their Wolf remix live stage performance... that's just amazing both vocally and performance wise ❤️ And baby don't cry is one of my all time favourite 😌

I’m glad you are enjoying Exo and still going further into checking them out even though you had a bad encounter with toxic fans. Even Chen from Exo said in one of his speeches “there’s no competition in music” so those type of fans don’t make sense to me. I enjoy a lot of groups too. It’s music, you can like whatever you want. Though EXO is the only group in Kpop I’ve found so far who are most suited to my music taste. Their songs are just quality you can’t find even beyond Kpop. There are many groups who are good in Kpop but you can’t really compare them to some legendary artists worldwide but EXO’s different. If someone asked me to recommend them Kpop music, I’d show them exo. I’m always trying a lot of groups too but EXO’s the only one I’m a “stan” of, you know. Anyway as long as you respect everyone’s craft & aren’t anyone’s “anti” , you can obviously enjoy whoever you want. They’re all singers & all of them work hard. Don’t listen to made up stories, or the fans, just go for anyone you like.

Exo’s discography is by far my favorite one in the kpop industry. They are real singers and their music production is always top tier. But XOXO is my least favorite album by them. Maybe if it was 2012 i would like it more but i got into kpop in 2019 lol
'XOXO' is EXO's first full length album after one year long hiatus, released in 2013. Back then they were splitted in EXO-K (singing in Korean) and EXO-M (singing in Mandarin), each sub-group having 6 members. I'm saying this bcs some of these songs sound so much better live with the 9 of them, they feel fuller. I love this album's songs a lot (as well as all the other songs EXO put out), but that's just me, everyone can like or dislike certain songs, bcs of various reasons. This album's production it's not as complex as the one for, let's say, 'The War', but it was made to showcase their vocals more. I just love how you can see their growth alongside their sound's in their next releases over the years. 'XOXO' is an album based on fairytales. But what you listened to here is their repackage with the addition of 'Growl', 'XOXO' and 'Lucky'. I'll explain each song from the album and then from the repackage. 1. 'Wolf' or 'Beauty and the Beast/늑대와미녀' (literal translation 'wolves and beauties') is the title track for their first album and it features all the 12 members on the song with the members of EXO-K being more dominant. Even among fans, you either love it or hate it. I know it's all over the place and a mess and experimental, but for me 'Wolf' is so good that I can't get enough of it. This song gave EXO their first win. 2. 'Baby, Don't Cry' or 'Mermaid tears/인어 눈물'. The ispiration of this song is《The Little Mermaid》(1837). When the Little Mermaid turned 15, she fell in love with a prince, so she asked the Sea Witch to give her a pair of legs in exchange of her tongue. She hopes the prince will eventually fall in love with her and marry her, but unfortunately she fails. After the prince's marriage she decides she wants to be a mermaid again. To achieve this she needs to kill the prince with a knife. She was not capable of doing so after seeing him sleeping with his wife so she ends up turning into foam. In the song 'Baby, Don't Cry', the prince does not sleep, waking up he tells her to kill him (lyrics): "There’s no need to hold back anymore My heart is here for you to take As the moonlight shines across the seashore, it’s hard to ignore; it keeps me awake I keep thinking of what we could have been, if we were just different people, where we’d begin. The sound of this song reminds me of a soundtrack for a movie with pirates (ig it makes sense since they are talking about sailing and founding a treasure, the black pearl). You find pearls under the water and probably that's why the song sounds muffled. Black pearls are associated with everlasting love. 4. 'Don't Go' or 'Butterfly Girl/나비 소녀'. EXO dedicated this song to EXO-Ls and by just reading the lyrics you can understand why. "Oh, I’ll follow you even if it’s at the end of the world. Please don’t escape from my sight, please don’t vanish even when the morning comes." 5. 'Let Out The Beast'. Well, this one is pretty straightforward. They talk about their talents and showing the world who they truly are. 6. 3.6.5 was also dedicated to the fans, reading the lyrics you can see why. "Get crushed three times, even if you have to cry six times. If you overcome another five times, you'll start to see the end. If you rush ahead, you'll only miss the important things. Give yourself a little bit more time, so that you can catch your breath. ~ Laugh out loud 3 times, listen to 6 songs, after sleeping for 5 hours, everything won't be a big deal anymore. 'Heart Attack' is full of effects added to their voices and it sounds robotic, cold and distant. I think it suits the meaning of a heart attack really well. During a heart attack the blood flow to a part of your heart stops or is below normal, which causes that part of your heart muscle to die. When a part of your heart can't pump because it's dying from lack of blood flow, it can disrupt the pumping sequence for the entire heart. When you talk about a heart you associate it with emotions, warmth and liveliness. The heart attack happens so everything goes blank. "Heart attack, at the end of waiting My heart that is about to burst falls silent I’m so peaceful that I don’t care if I stop breathing." 8. 'Peter Pan/피터팬'. "As we all know, 'Peter Pan' seems like a happy song that was sung by our 12 boys, then we soon discovered it had a sad meaning as to how the story of Peter Pan, the fairy tale we all watched through the TV miniseries 'Neverland' tells us. We, EXO fans, consider ourselves to be EXO (Peter Pan's) 'Tinker Bell', and one day, whether we like it or not, our Peter Pan will find his Wendy and 'live happily ever after'. Pointing out the real story of 'Peter Pan' by J. M. Barrie, Peter Pan doesn't end up with anyone, not even Wendy or her daughter. Wendy, according to the Scottish novel, was only one of the children that Peter Pan befriends and takes to Neverland to be his 'mother'. Wendy merely stood out among all the other children Peter Pan would befriend since he has no one who took care of him. That's where pretty, little Tinker Bell kicks in. P.S.: Since this album was released in 2013, the name 'EXO-L' didn't existed yet, so they were simply called EXO fans or as the fandom named themselves, EXOTICS. The fandom name was given to us on 05.08.2014. (Chanyeol also has a tattoo with this date : L-1485). 9. 'Baby'. I don't think I need to explain this one, just read the lyrics for it. 10. 'My Lady/내 여자'. Again, I think the lyrics are enough for the meaning of this song. Now for the repackage. 11. 'Growl/으르렁' is the title track for their repackage of their first album 'XOXO' and all the 12 members sing in this, the presence of the members of EXO-K being dominant, since this is the Korean version. In the Chinese version, EXO-M sings most of the parts. 'Growl' is called the National Anthem of South Korea, everyone knows it there. Around that time there was a joke going around that if you didn't know 'Growl' you were a spy from North Korea. 12. 'XOXO'. The lyrics should be enough for this one too. 13. 'Lucky'. Same for this one as for 'XOXO'. And there's also the EXO-K and EXO-M version of 'Growl' which means only 6 members are singing the song for each of the version. I totally agree with EXO having somewhat of an industrial sound. That's what I love about them, their dark, steel like, cold sounds, even the aesthetic for the MVs are generally on the darker side/cold colors/washed colors/neutral colors with the exception of 'Ko Ko Bop', 'Power' and 'Don't fight the feeling' (and only the last 2 have a cutesy concept). And as for which colors suit their sound, I would go with black, silver, some dark blue in there and for their songs that are ballads or on the softer side, I would choose light gold (maybe sparkles), white, warm brown and maybe baby blue. Of course, that 1st Album is the very first Million Seller album in Korea after 12 years. EXO is very successful and popular since debut. They have been enjoying their fame until now, reason they're not shaken by other groups because they were already very established and highly respected in Korean entertainment. They're also well know as power vocals and individually multi-talented.
Anyweh. You’re not betraying anyone by liking more music. Heck. The whole “staying loyal to a fandom/group” etc. is a very small box to put yourself in as a music listener/ reactor. I love how you’ve been branching out and listening to more groups lately! That being said I highly highly highly hiiiiiiighly recommend EXO’s _Don’t Mess Up My Tempo_ album. (Their albums _Obsession_ , _EX’ACT_ and _Universe_ are all straight up delicious too tbh)
I enjoy a lot of different kpop groups, but usually I don't call myself a multi since I'm only a "stan" of one lol. This is actually my first EXO album as well. I've heard Wolf before, but only cause of memes. It's not really for me, but I can see how people like them! They are very talented :)
when i first get into kpop i had a really really high standards since i grow up listening to classic music and hearing crazy vocals and tones i even educate my self since i loved singing so when i knew EXO i just stanned them the didn't just match the standard !!! they even grow on it and made another standard with me they made me educate myself not just in vocals but in productions and composing ! they are SOO SO talented EVERY SINGLE MEMBER can do legit everything i became a really hard stan after i heared that they have musicals more like 6 musicals I WAS LIKE bruh they are the best how came a group can do all of that !!! so in my opinion no one could ever be compared to them .

This is my least fav exo full length album out of the 6 they have this is not a bad album it's just that the ones released after this are so much more my taste. The 2nd album is exodus came out in 2015 which is kais fav exo album and in my top 3 as well that album is a bop

The first time I heard Baby Don't Cry was the time that I officially a Exo-L. The song really punch me in the face and told me that i need to stan them! After being a Exo-L for just 2 years (yup stan them when Xiumin just got into the military) lwould say that my fav album is "The War". So pls check them out! I used to listen to A LOT of groups before for more than 10 years. EXO was one of them. But since I learned about BTS and what their music is all about. I was stuck since 2013 and can never move on to other groups. I found my peace with BTS music.

Peter Pan might sound cute but if you dive into the lyrics, it's actually a sad song. Like the real story of Peter Pan and Wendy themselves, they met and Wendy went back home but Peter never forgot her and he holds to her memories and hope that someday they will meet again.

HOMIE HAD ME AT 8:53 XOXO was real experimental in a way but you should listen to more albums each gives off a completely different vibe and they do alot of R&B, their music and sound real unique, also I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you listen to the Repackaged versions of the albums instead so it includes both regular and repackaged songs with both title tracts etc

I wasn’t a huge fan of the song wolf when I first heard. Then I saw the live remix version in concert and it’s so good. Chen (congrats on the second baby), baekhyun and Kyungsoo vocals are amazing and they added dub step. It’s crazy. I love the VCR of Heart attack.
6:08 yes kind of haha I'm an old fan of them since 2014 although my first song was overdose, listening to the whole of xoxo made me an exol bc their voices are just like heaven and it works so well with their style
They were really young, and had the vocal heritage of SM to live up to. Wolf is a divisive song, and most people in the fandom would rather listen to the legendary live remix from their concert. Since they were so young, still building a fan base, this album includes some songs dedicated to the fans. Those songs are quite corny, but Lucky and Don’t Go are our precious, beloved EXO L anthems. Out of all of EXO’s discography, XOXO album is the only one that I can’t listen to without skipping a song here and there, but it also includes some of my favorite ones.
I only consider myself an army bc my heart is just full of bts and I honestly don't have the time or energy to stan another group lol but I respect all the other artists and still listen to & like some of their music (like Taemin or TXT). it's just more casual. tbh I haven't found an EXO song I like, I think their music just isn't for me. if anyone wants to tell me some less known b-side gems I should listen to, I'd be happy to give it a try :)
EXO does almost all genres of music. They do 40 to 50 genres and sub genres. Even the solo albums of the members are diffrent from each other. Let us know what you prefer, will surely have a song to recommend. :)

Dandanies for D.O, Soondingie for Chen, Elsas for Xiumin, etc. For countries, there are, Phixos-philippines, Cherries- China, Iris-indonesia, jerries - japan, Kerries- korea, Merries- malaysia, and so on, but collectively, non korean EXOL's are called i-EXOLs( intl).lol. it's cofusing at first, but it's really fun.

I mean many likes it but not as popular as the other BTS songs). I also am a NCT, BTOB, ASTRO, IKON, and WINNER Stan.
I think being multistan is misundertood by solo stans bc it is possible love differents groups and support them. I do believe that being multi teachs people to enjoy music and open your mind to differents genres of music. Your face when listening to wolf was the entire fandom probably when they 1st heard it. But I regard it as a well-produced meme song, and honestly it gets me hyped when it comes on. Singing along to it is hilarious 😂. Their MV's and live stages are iconic as well, their albums just kept getting better. Also yes multistans can be unproblematic, my whole friendship circle are. There's too much talent out there to miss out on!

I’m glad you are enjoying Exo and still going further into checking them out even though you had a bad encounter with toxic fans. Even Chen from Exo said in one of his speeches “there’s no competition in music” so those type of fans don’t make sense to me. I enjoy a lot of groups too. It’s music, you can like whatever you want. Though EXO is the only group in Kpop I’ve found so far who are most suited to my music taste. Their songs are just quality you can’t find even beyond Kpop. There are many groups who are good in Kpop but you can’t really compare them to some legendary artists worldwide but EXO’s different. If someone asked me to recommend them Kpop music, I’d show them exo. I’m always trying a lot of groups too but EXO’s the only one I’m a “stan” of, you know. Anyway as long as you respect everyone’s craft & aren’t anyone’s “anti” , you can obviously enjoy whoever you want. They’re all singers & all of them work hard. Don’t listen to made up stories, or the fans, just go for anyone you like.

Exo’s discography is by far my favorite one in the kpop industry. They are real singers and their music production is always top tier. But XOXO is my least favorite album by them. Maybe if it was 2012 i would like it more but i got into kpop in 2019 lol
'XOXO' is EXO's first full length album after one year long hiatus, released in 2013.
Back then they were splitted in EXO-K (singing in Korean) and EXO-M (singing in Mandarin), each sub-group having 6 members. I'm saying this bcs some of these songs sound so much better live with the 9 of them, they feel fuller.
I love this album's songs a lot (as well as all the other songs EXO put out), but that's just me, everyone can like or dislike certain songs, bcs of various reasons. This album's production it's not as complex as the one for, let's say, 'The War', but it was made to showcase their vocals more. I just love how you can see their growth alongside their sound's in their next releases over the years.
'XOXO' is an album based on fairytales. But what you listened to here is their repackage with the addition of 'Growl', 'XOXO' and 'Lucky'.
I'll explain each song from the album and then from the repackage.
1. 'Wolf' or 'Beauty and the Beast/늑대와미녀' (literal translation 'wolves and beauties') is the title track for their first album and it features all the 12 members on the song with the members of EXO-K being more dominant.
Even among fans, you either love it or hate it. I know it's all over the place and a mess and experimental, but for me 'Wolf' is so good that I can't get enough of it.
This song gave EXO their first win.
2. 'Baby, Don't Cry' or 'Mermaid tears/인어 눈물'. The ispiration of this song is《The Little Mermaid》(1837). When the Little Mermaid turned 15, she fell in love with a prince, so she asked the Sea Witch to give her a pair of legs in exchange of her tongue. She hopes the prince will eventually fall in love with her and marry her, but unfortunately she fails. After the prince's marriage she decides she wants to be a mermaid again. To achieve this she needs to kill the prince with a knife. She was not capable of doing so after seeing him sleeping with his wife so she ends up turning into foam.
In the song 'Baby, Don't Cry', the prince does not sleep, waking up he tells her to kill him (lyrics):

3. 'Black Pearl'. The sound of this song reminds me of a soundtrack for a movie with pirates (ig it makes sense since they are talking about sailing and founding a treasure, the black pearl). You find pearls under the water and probably that's why the song sounds muffled.
Black pearls are associated with everlasting love.
4. 'Don't Go' or 'Butterfly Girl/나비 소녀'. EXO dedicated this song to EXO-Ls and by just reading the lyrics you can understand why.
"Oh, I’ll follow you even if it’s at the end of the world.
Please don’t escape from my sight, please don’t vanish even when the morning comes."
5. 'Let Out The Beast'. Well, this one is pretty straightforward. They talk about their talents and showing the world who they truly are.
6. 3.6.5 was also dedicated to the fans, reading the lyrics you can see why.

7. 'Heart Attack' is full of effects added to their voices and it sounds robotic, cold and distant. I think it suits the meaning of a heart attack really well.
During a heart attack the blood flow to a part of your heart stops or is below normal, which causes that part of your heart muscle to die. When a part of your heart can't pump because it's dying from lack of blood flow, it can disrupt the pumping sequence for the entire heart.
When you talk about a heart you associate it with emotions, warmth and liveliness. The heart attack happens so everything goes blank.

8. 'Peter Pan/피터팬'.
"As we all know, 'Peter Pan' seems like a happy song that was sung by our 12 boys, then we soon discovered it had a sad meaning as to how the story of Peter Pan, the fairy tale we all watched through the TV miniseries 'Neverland' tells us. We, EXO fans, consider ourselves to be EXO (Peter Pan's) 'Tinker Bell', and one day, whether we like it or not, our Peter Pan will find his Wendy and 'live happily ever after'. Pointing out the real story of 'Peter Pan' by J. M. Barrie, Peter Pan doesn't end up with anyone, not even Wendy or her daughter. Wendy, according to the Scottish novel, was only one of the children that Peter Pan befriends and takes to Neverland to be his 'mother'. Wendy merely stood out among all the other children Peter Pan would befriend since he has no one who took care of him. That's where pretty, little Tinker Bell kicks in. 9. 'Baby'. I don't think I need to explain this one, just read the lyrics for it.
10. 'My Lady/내 여자'. Again, I think the lyrics are enough for the meaning of this song.
Now for the repackage.
11. 'Growl/으르렁' is the title track for their repackage of their first album 'XOXO' and all the 12 members sing in this, the presence of the members of EXO-K being dominant, since this is the Korean version. In the Chinese version, EXO-M sings most of the parts.
'Growl' is called the National Anthem of South Korea, everyone knows it there. Around that time there was a joke going around that if you didn't know 'Growl' you were a spy from North Korea.
12. 'XOXO'. The lyrics should be enough for this one too.
13. 'Lucky'. Same for this one as for 'XOXO'.
And there's also the EXO-K and EXO-M version of 'Growl' which means only 6 members are singing the song for each of the version.
I totally agree with EXO having somewhat of an industrial sound. That's what I love about them, their dark, steel like, cold sounds, even the aesthetic for the MVs are generally on the darker side/cold colors/washed colors/neutral colors with the exception of 'Ko Ko Bop', 'Power' and 'Don't fight the feeling' (and only the last 2 have a cutesy concept).
And as for which colors suit their sound, I would go with black, silver, some dark blue in there and for their songs that are ballads or on the softer side, I would choose light gold (maybe sparkles), white, warm brown and maybe baby blue.
As for the vocals and harmonies, EXO is the group for that.

Of course, that 1st Album is the very first Million Seller album in Korea after 12 years. EXO is very successful and popular since debut. They have been enjoying their fame until now, reason they're not shaken by other groups because they were already very established and highly respected in Korean entertainment. They're also well know as power vocals and individually multi-talented.

I used to listen to A LOT of groups before for more than 10 years. EXO was one of them. But since I learned about BTS and what their music is all about. I was stuck since 2013 and can never move on to other groups. I found my peace with BTS music.

Peter Pan might sound cute but if you dive into the lyrics, it's actually a sad song. Like the real story of Peter Pan and Wendy themselves, they met and Wendy went back home but Peter never forgot her and he holds to her memories and hope that someday they will meet again.

XOXO was real experimental in a way but you should listen to more albums each gives off a completely different vibe and they do alot of R&B, their music and sound real unique, also I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you listen to the Repackaged versions of the albums instead so it includes both regular and repackaged songs with both title tracts etc

I wasn’t a huge fan of the song wolf when I first heard. Then I saw the live remix version in concert and it’s so good. Chen (congrats on the second baby), baekhyun and Kyungsoo vocals are amazing and they added dub step. It’s crazy. I love the VCR of Heart attack.

They were really young, and had the vocal heritage of SM to live up to. Wolf is a divisive song, and most people in the fandom would rather listen to the legendary live remix from their concert. Since they were so young, still building a fan base, this album includes some songs dedicated to the fans. Those songs are quite corny, but Lucky and Don’t Go are our precious, beloved EXO L anthems. Out of all of EXO’s discography, XOXO album is the only one that I can’t listen to without skipping a song here and there, but it also includes some of my favorite ones.

I only consider myself an army bc my heart is just full of bts and I honestly don't have the time or energy to stan another group lol but I respect all the other artists and still listen to & like some of their music (like Taemin or TXT). it's just more casual. tbh I haven't found an EXO song I like, I think their music just isn't for me. if anyone wants to tell me some less known b-side gems I should listen to, I'd be happy to give it a try :)
EXO does almost all genres of music. They do 40 to 50 genres and sub genres. Even the solo albums of the members are diffrent from each other. Let us know what you prefer, will surely have a song to recommend. :)

Yes Mr. Sebastine, it is possible to be a multi Stan. I am an EXOL but I also have BTS song favorites and one of it is "Fake love" (which is one of the underappreciated song of BTS and idk why 😭😭😭. I mean many likes it but not as popular as the other BTS songs). I also am a NCT, BTOB, ASTRO, IKON, and WINNER Stan.
I think being multistan is misundertood by solo stans bc it is possible love differents groups and support them. I do believe that being multi teachs people to enjoy music and open your mind to differents genres of music. I don't think being multi is problematic or toxic, we are so chill we have a lot of love to give
