    What about for IMGs?

    • @jacobpereramd8094
      @jacobpereramd8094  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IMG's would normally be required to take this exam as well as others that test English proficiency. Another exam that you may still be required to take would be the English Language Proficiency Assessment to get ECFMG certification. I'm not 100% sure how this would affect that process.

    • @MDPowerhouse

      @Roo Naj IMGs still have to wait for an official announcement from ECFMG now that STEP 2 CS is officially cancelled

    Im a 1st year in the umkc program. I know this is exciting for upper years who have already taken step 1, but what will the residences use to evaluate us now? Our step 1 is pass/fail.

      I am a first year too and this was my first question. At first I was excited but then I thought about it and had tons of questions.

      @@WeightsAreFriends Great question guys. This Step 2 CS exam was NEVER used to evaluate students for residencies. Its pass/fail and has a 96% pass rate. All the residency program sees is that you pass and since so many people do on their first try, this is just a formality and really just a money grab from us. Step 1 being pass/fail also may be challenging. It will likely mean that step 2 (still a numerical score) will have more importance, as will your rotation grades, letters of recommendation, and your away rotation performance. Feel free to reach out to me if you guys have any more questions about how it affects us at UMKC. I'm in y'alls groupme!

    • @jacobpereramd8094
      @jacobpereramd8094  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your situation. If you are an IMG, there will be different pathways for EMFMG certification. If you are a US grad, then just USMLE step 1 and step 2 CK and step 3 once in residency.

    Hello, I have two questions : I will do step 1 in October 2021, step 2 CK in March 2022. Do I also have to do step 2 cs or is the step 2 cs test omitted, because I did step 1 in 2021 ? (I am IMG).
    And last question how long would you suggest to learn for the step 1, step 2 ck, step 2 cs and step 3 for a good Rank (surgery) ?
    Thank you very much :)

      I would say so! Incredibly high pass rates doesn't do much for students or programs other than take money. It's like assessing a teacher's ability to teach based on knowing "1+1". If everyone or almost everyone passes, whats the point of the test? Saved me over 1000$ :)
