So glad you caught this move CLP. I like your perspective. They pulled the last of these flats out behind the NS Savannah and Atlanta heritage unit, #1065.
I've got a few photos of New Bern from back in the Age of Steam. You'd be surprised how many tracks and structures that were there back then compared to now. There was a Roundhouse and Turntable west of the station at one time, along with a track running up the street from Jacksonville that met the A&EC at a diamond in the street in front of the station.
Jacksonville used to have a rail yard back in the late 1950's ans 1960's. My Daddy used to take to the rail yard to watch Atlantic Coast Line switch cars on Saturday mornings. One Saturday morning the Engineer of ACL engine number 138 allow me and my Daddy to come aboard the engine and I got to push the throttle forward to move the engine. that was a Thrill for a 8 yr old boy. I am now 72 yrs old. The rail yard in Jacksonville had about 5 spurs next to US Highway 17, with one spur heading to Camp Lejuene to pick up the military cars. Back then the main line ran from New Bern to Wilmington.
This was quite the load, Great video.
Nice catch Very Rare BNSF Power.
